/ 01 Performance marketing agency

Every rupee tracedto a result.

When Google and Meta both claim the same sale, nobody knows what a rupee of ads really brought. PromotEdge is a performance marketing agency that runs Google, Meta, LinkedIn and YouTube ads for Indian companies on one plan, and judges every channel on cost per qualified lead and sales, not clicks.

Performance marketing means online ads where every rupee is traced to a click, a lead or a sale. Blended numbers matter. Spend ₹3 lakh, and Google claims 60 customers while Meta claims 50, but your order system shows 80. Your real cost per customer is ₹3,750, not the ₹2,727 the two reports suggest.

The number we watch most is customer acquisition cost (CAC), what you pay on average to win one paying customer. First conversions usually arrive in week one, and CAC settles over two to three months. Since 2015 we have served steel firms, an education institute, a hospital, a jeweller and an engine maker.

Our beliefWe start with logic and your numbers, not with ideas we happen to like.

/ 02 What's included

Performance services,one team.

Most programmes start with two channels and the measurement under them. Search usually comes first; Meta early for consumer brands; LinkedIn when deal sizes justify the clicks; YouTube and CTV once the core works.

/ 03 What usually goes wrong

Where paid medialoses money.

“Google and Meta both say they drove the same sale.”

They will. Each platform counts any sale it touched. We report blended numbers, checked against your CRM or order system.

“We doubled the budget and leads went up only 20%.”

Every channel reaches a point where the next rupee buys less. We find it and move money to a channel with room. Past that, growth comes from a sharper strategy, advertising, content and SEO. We tell you when you've reached it.

“Our ROAS looks great, but the business isn't making money.”

ROAS (return on ad spend, the sales for every ₹1 of ads) ignores product cost, shipping and returns. We set targets on contribution margin, the money left after those costs.

“We have three agencies for three channels and nobody owns the result.”

One team runs the plan and writes the one report. The person who moves budget between channels is accountable for the total.

“Half our D2C orders are cash on delivery, and many come back.”

We take returned and cancelled orders out of the revenue we optimise for. Some brands also confirm COD orders on WhatsApp before dispatch.

“Our ads feed a marketplace or a dealer, and they keep the customer and the margin.”

If every sale goes through one platform or distributor, it owns the buyer's details. We plan part of the spend to bring buyers to your own site or WhatsApp. Where no data comes back, we fix measurement first.

“We don't trust the numbers on our dashboard.”

Usually tracking is broken: missing UTMs (tags on links that show where a visit came from), duplicate conversions or no CRM link. We fix measurement before we scale anything.

“Our sales team calls leads back two days later.”

Speed matters more than most ad settings. We set up instant alerts, a callback rule, an automatic WhatsApp reply and a CRM (the software where every enquiry is kept and followed up).

/ 05 How we work

From auditto one plan.

We'd rather show you results than a nice presentation, so the plan is built in weeks, not slides. Audit to a rebuilt, measured set of accounts takes about four weeks; after that the work is weekly. Try this first: divide last quarter's ad spend by new customers in your CRM.

  1. 01

    Audit (weeks 1 and 2)

Every paid account reviewed, tracking tested, and the gap between platform numbers and your CRM measured. We can't do magic alone: share account access and sales data early.

  2. 02

    Model the economics (week 2)

Target cost per lead, CAC or ROAS worked out from your margins, close rates and customer value.

  3. 03

Plan and rebuild (weeks 2 to 4)

Channel mix and budget split agreed, around peaks such as Diwali, admission months and financial year end. A modest budget starts with one or two channels. If a peak is near, ask for a free growth plan early.

  4. 04

Test, scale and cut (from month 2)

New channels, audiences and creative start small for two to four weeks. What proves itself gets the money; the rest is cut.

  5. 05

    Report and re-forecast

A monthly blended report by channel, and a quarterly budget re-forecast tied to your sales targets.

  6. 06

Test what each channel adds (quarterly)

Where budgets allow, a holdout region or the platform's lift study shows what a channel adds on its own.

More on this

How we deliver it, and why

How your business model changes the plan

A D2C brand is judged on contribution margin, after returns and cash-on-delivery losses. A dealer-led maker (see industrial manufacturing) judges cost per sales-qualified lead and routes each enquiry to the right dealer. A seller on marketplaces and quick commerce apps watches TACoS, and needs part of the spend to bring buyers to its own site or WhatsApp (see ecommerce marketing). A real estate developer counts cost per site visit.

  1. Work out the economics first. A target cost per lead means little until you know your margin and how many leads your team closes. A written target for each channel.
  2. Fix measurement before we scale. Each platform claims every sale it touched. Only your CRM or order system settles the argument. One blended report beside the platform numbers.
  3. Start with two channels. A modest budget spread over five channels teaches you nothing about any of them. A clear read on cost per qualified lead in the first weeks.
  4. Test new channels small, for two to four weeks. Nobody can tell in advance which audience will respond, and a small test is a small loss. A scoreboard of what earned its budget.
  5. Cut as readily as we scale. Every channel reaches a point where the next rupee buys less. Money moved, with a note on why.
  6. Test what a channel adds on its own, every quarter. Last-click numbers cannot show that. A holdout region or lift study, where the budget allows.

Go deeper: the rules and the market

Who sets the rules

ASCI (Advertising Standards Council of India) describes itself as an independent, voluntary self-regulatory body that aims to keep Indian ads fair and honest under the ASCI Code. Its site lists complaint outcomes and advisory services such as endorser due diligence. Check an ad against the code before it goes live.

Where your buyers are

The Kantar and IAMAI Internet in India report counted 488 million active internet users in rural India and 397 million in urban India, and found that 57% prefer content in regional languages. IAMAI (Internet and Mobile Association of India) is a not-for-profit industry body for online businesses. So we test ads and landing pages in the language your buyers use.

AI in performance marketing: today and next

Today: AI in measurement

Google says data-driven attribution in GA4 uses machine learning on converting and non-converting paths to share credit across touchpoints, and that each model is specific to an advertiser. Google also offers Meridian, an open-source marketing mix model, with a geo-experiment add-on to calibrate it. Both need steady data, so for a small budget we start with a simple holdout.

/ 07 Cost

What affects the cost of performance marketing.

You pay the platforms for media. You pay us for the planning and the work, and for measuring it.

Our management fee is separate from your ad spend, which you pay to the platforms directly, at actuals. We quote the fee once we know how many channels we run and how you measure a sale. Our cost guides explain media pricing.

What affects the cost

  • Number of channels and ad accounts we run
  • Total monthly ad spend across them
  • Creative volume: new ads each channel needs every month
  • Tracking, CRM and dashboard work at the start
  • Landing page and CRO work
  • Depth of measurement, such as holdout regions or lift studies

How we quote

  1. We start with your margins, your close rates and what a customer is worth over time.
  2. We look at every ad account, your tracking and your CRM, and note what is missing.
  3. We send a written plan: channels, the target for each, and how we will measure a sale.
  4. We send the quote within 2 working days, with our fee on its own lines and the ad spend for each channel shown apart. You approve it before launch.

What you get in the quote

  • The channels we will run and the target we set for each
  • Tracking, CRM and dashboard work, and new ads each month
  • Landing page and conversion work, if you want it included
  • Our fee, shown apart from the platforms' bills: a monthly retainer, a percentage of spend, or a retainer plus set-up

The platforms bill your ad spend with their own GST, and GST applies to our fee.

Straight answers.

  • Digital marketing covers everything a brand does online. Performance marketing is the paid part, measured against leads, sales and the cost of winning each customer. An agency plans, runs and measures those ads and moves money to what brings customers, judged on cost per qualified lead or sale, not on clicks.

  • Ask how they will measure a sale: against your CRM or order system, not each platform's own report. Ask who owns the ad accounts (it should be you), who works on yours each week, and when they would cut a channel.

  • First conversions usually arrive in the first week of a properly set-up programme. Efficiency improves over the first month as campaigns learn. Real reductions in acquisition cost typically take two to three months. We confirm the timeline in the quote.

  • There is no universal number; it depends on your margins. If a ₹1,000 order leaves ₹400 after product, shipping, payment and return costs, your margin is 40%. Break-even ROAS is 1 divided by 0.4, which is 2.5: ₹2,500 of sales for every ₹1,000 of ads.

  • Every month you get one blended report, checked against your CRM. The key number differs: D2C, contribution margin after ad spend; real estate and education, cost per site visit; B2B and industrial, cost per sales-qualified lead; BFSI, cost per approved application; marketplaces, TACoS.

  • No. Performance depends on your product, market, creative, competition and platform changes, so be wary of any promised return before an agency has seen your numbers. We guarantee the work and honest measurement. Our fee is separate from media spend, which you pay the platforms at actuals. We quote against a written list of work.

  • Yes. Our servicing team is based in cities across India and runs ads online, with calls and shared screens every day. We visit you in your city every three months, and place our team at your site if needed. You get shared dashboards and a monthly report.

  • Admin access to your ad accounts and analytics, a CRM or lead-sheet export, and your margins by product or service. We also need a weekly ten-minute check-in with sales on lead quality. Honest numbers from you make the targets honest.
