“Hi, my name is Hitesh Malhotra. I'm working in FIVB. We are working with PromoteEdge (with Team Sayantan).I would like to give you a brief detail. So when we started this project, we had a good discussion with them. And personally, I feel PromotEdge is kind of a one stop solution for us. So basically, they provided us the whole storyboarding regarding the digital assets and how we can use those with our ambassadors programme. They helped us a lot to structurize the whole concept from our side. So in fact, there were a lot of great ideas they provided, guiding us...what we should do and what we should not do in this regard. And the best part was that they were very clear from there, from the whole blueprint. So they understood our request from the proposal and then accordingly they executed it.”

Digital marketing for Mumbai businesses

In a crowded city, the plan should start from the enquiries you get today, not from habit. PromotEdge, a digital marketing company, runs search, ads, websites, print, radio and event work for firms selling across Mumbai, Navi Mumbai and Thane, and tracks each campaign to the enquiries it brings.

Planning papers, radio or boards? See Advertising in Mumbai. Want to be found on Google first? See SEO services in Mumbai.

/ 03 The Mumbai market

What shapes a Mumbai plan, in three points

Money, languages and festivals decide where a Mumbai budget goes.

1. The state's money centre. PRS Legislative Research projects Maharashtra's GSDP (the value of everything a state produces in a year) at about ₹54.09 lakh crore for 2026-27. Many buyers are companies that read your website closely before they call.

2. Four big languages. By our count from Census 2011, about 35% of Greater Mumbai's people named Marathi as their mother tongue. About 29% named a Hindi-group language, 12% Urdu and 11% Gujarati. One message often needs two or three language versions.

3. A festival run that peaks in autumn. Ganeshotsav usually comes in August to September. Dussehra then comes in September to October, and Diwali Laxmi Pujan and Bhaubeej in October to November. The state publishes exact dates each year; see our marketing calendar. Shops spend hardest then; firms selling to firms plan around trade shows.

Mumbai media and rules to check before you plan

In short: radio and papers are bought by language, boards need BMC permission, and BKC and NESCO suit business buyers.

WhatIn MumbaiWhat it means for your plan
RadioEight private stations on the government's list of 30 March 2026: 91.1, 91.9, 92.7, 93.5, 94.3, 98.3, 104.0 and 104.8 MHz. Navi Mumbai and Thane have none of their own. Akashvani's FM Rainbow 107.1 and FM Gold 100.7 MHz are each listed at ₹880 for 10 seconds in prime time (government card from 1 June 2017, not our rate).Radio is bought as Mumbai radio. Ask if a station reaches your area.
PapersMumbai editions on the Audit Bureau of Circulations list: Loksatta and Daily Sakal (Marathi), Navbharat Times (Hindi) and The Free Press Journal (English). Mumbai Samachar, in Gujarati, was first printed on 1 July 1822.Reach Marathi, Hindi and Gujarati homes in the language they read at breakfast.
BMC outdoor guidelines, 2025BMC (Brihanmumbai Municipal Corporation, the city body) published final guidelines on 27 November 2025. Boards over 40 ft by 40 ft are banned. Lit and digital boards need a traffic police NOC (a no-objection letter). Permits are renewed every two years, each time with a structural engineer's stability certificate.Ask the site owner for the BMC permit, police letter and latest stability certificate.
Convention and exhibition hallsJio World Convention Centre, BKC: 3 exhibition halls of 161,460 sq ft and a ballroom for 3,200 guests (as announced in 2022). NESCO's Bombay Exhibition Centre: 6 halls and about 60,000 sq m, open since 1991.Plan the stall, search ads and follow-up together.

/ 05 Common challenges we solve

Common digital marketing problems in Mumbai and how we fix them

Buyers read our website closely, then never call

A typical Mumbai business challenge, and how we work on it. This is an example, not a named client's result.

The problem

A firm selling to other companies is checked closely before the first call. If the site is slow or vague, the buyer leaves without a word. You never learn why.

What we look at first

  • Which pages your recent enquiries came from.
  • How fast the site opens on a phone, and what it says first.

The steps we take

  1. Start from your recent enquiries, then pick channels by what pays you.
  2. Fix the website so it loads fast and says plainly what you do.
  3. Work on SEO (search engine optimisation), so firms searching for your service can find you.
  4. Follow up every enquiry on WhatsApp and email.
  5. Report enquiries by source and cost per lead (what one enquiry cost on average).

What changes when it works

A company buyer finds a fast, clear site and calls with a real question.

What we need from you

Your recent enquiries and access to your website.

We use one English message everywhere, and many buyers seem to ignore it

A typical Mumbai business challenge, and how we work on it. This is an example, not a named client's result.

The problem

Mumbai buyers read in Marathi, Hindi, Urdu, Gujarati and English. A reader responds to their own language. One message in one language reaches only some of them.

What we look at first

  • Which areas and languages your recent enquiries came from.
  • Which language each of your ads and pages uses now.

The steps we take

  1. Draw a one-page map of enquiries by area and language.
  2. Treat Mumbai, Navi Mumbai and Thane as separate targets.
  3. Have our language partners write the Marathi, Hindi, Gujarati and English versions. Our team checks the copy.
  4. Reach homes through papers in the language they read at breakfast.
  5. Report enquiries by area and language.

What changes when it works

A Marathi reader in Thane sees a message written for them, and a Gujarati reader in another area sees theirs.

What we need from you

Your current ads and web pages.

We plan festival media too late, and the good slots are gone

A typical Mumbai business challenge, and how we work on it. This is an example, not a named client's result.

The problem

Shops spend hardest in the festival run from Ganeshotsav to Bhaubeej. Papers, radio and outdoor slots fill in the weeks before it. A late booking leaves fewer choices.

What we look at first

  • Which festival weeks brought your enquiries last year.
  • What you booked then, and how early.

The steps we take

  1. Tell us your festival dates before the good slots go.
  2. Build a media calendar that runs to Bhaubeej.
  3. Book papers, FM and Akashvani, and outdoor sites with safety papers checked.
  4. Make your paper ad, Google listing and stall carry one offer.
  5. Read the monthly report, then cut what did not bring enquiries and grow what did.

What changes when it works

A shop gets its media booked before the rush, with the same offer wherever a buyer looks.

What we need from you

Your festival dates and what you booked last year.

How much does digital marketing cost in Mumbai?

There is no price list on this page, by choice. Ad spend, media, printing, stalls, shoots and travel are billed separately, and you approve each one first.

What affects the cost

  • Which areas. Mumbai alone, or Navi Mumbai and Thane too, each with its own ads and reports.
  • How many languages. English only, or Marathi, Hindi and Gujarati versions as well.
  • How crowded your searches are. Banks, brokers and fintech firms bid hard for the same searches.
  • Offline media, shows and shoots. Papers, radio, outdoor sites, stalls, venues and shoot permissions.
  • Timing. Media in the festive weeks fills early, so late bookings leave fewer choices.

How we price it

  1. A 30-minute call on your goals and current enquiries.
  2. We check your website, ads and Google results.
  3. You get a written list of work and costs line by line, within 2 working days.
  4. Once you agree, work starts and monthly reports follow.

What you get in the quote

  • What we will do, and what we won't
  • Timeline and milestones
  • Who works on your account
  • Our fee, kept apart from ad spend and media
  • What we report, and how often

Five questions to ask any Mumbai agency

Ask every agency you shortlist.

  1. 01

Who will lead my account, and may I meet that person?

  2. 02

Can I see a sample monthly report that splits Mumbai, Navi Mumbai and Thane?

  3. 03

Is ad spend billed apart from your fee?

  4. 04

Whose name are the ad accounts in?

  5. 05

How do I leave: what is the notice period, and what do I take with me?

More about digital marketing in Mumbai

How we deliver it in Mumbai, and why

  1. Start from your last three months of enquiries. Channels are picked by what pays you. A one-page map by area and language.
  2. Treat Mumbai, Navi Mumbai and Thane as separate targets. Their people and civic rules differ. Reports by area.
  3. Write in the language your buyer reads. A Marathi, Hindi or Gujarati reader responds to their own. Versions checked by native readers.
  4. Ask for permits before paying for a site. BMC's 2025 rules need a permit, a police letter and an audit. Papers on file for every board.
  5. Book Diwali media early. Slots fill in the weeks before Diwali. A calendar to Bhaubeej.

Go deeper: Mumbai's economy and companies

Local economy

Services were about 63% and manufacturing about 24% of Maharashtra's economy in 2024-25 (state level, not Mumbai alone). Maharashtra had 38,660+ DPIIT-recognised startups on 31 March 2026, the most of any state.

JNPA, near Navi Mumbai, says it handles around 50% of container cargo across India's major ports. Film City in Goregaon, run by a Government of Maharashtra company, says over 2,000 films and 6,000 TV serials were shot there.

AI in digital marketing: today and next

Today

Meta says its Advantage+ tools apply AI across a campaign's audience, placement and budget. Google says Performance Max reaches YouTube, Search, Display, Maps and more from one campaign, using Google AI to optimise. TechCrunch reported on 8 October 2025 that Google's AI Mode now works in Hindi and Marathi, among other Indian languages.

So some Mumbai buyers now ask AI in Marathi. We would feed these tools clean enquiry data first, and check every Marathi line with a reader.

Source: Meta and Google Ads help pages, read 10 October 2026; TechCrunch, 8 October 2025

Next

Our view: ad tools will do more of the setting, so your enquiry data and your offer will matter more. See how we use AI and automation or ask us where it fits yours.

/ 11 Digital marketing agency in Mumbai

A fintech firm in BKC (Bandra Kurla Complex), a chemicals maker in Thane and a shop in Vashi don't share buyers or media. So we start with your own enquiry numbers.

Digital marketing in Navi Mumbai. About half its people named Marathi as their mother tongue (our count from Census 2011), and the Nhava Sheva port is next door. We set it up as its own target area for your ads.

Digital marketing in Thane. About 48% of its people named Marathi as their mother tongue (our count from Census 2011). Its factories make chemicals, medicines and plastics on MIDC (state industrial) estates. A factory needs a website buyers across India trust. A shop needs Marathi ads shown nearby.

Areas we plan for: Andheri, BKC, Lower Parel, Navi Mumbai and Thane. Our Mumbai team sets up each one as its own target in your ads and reports. A fintech firm in BKC, a shop in Vashi and a Thane factory do not need the same plan.

/ 12 How Mumbai work runs

Our Mumbai team. Visits when the work needs them

Our servicing team in Mumbai serves Mumbai, Navi Mumbai and Thane, backed by our in-house team of 65+ people. We place our team at your site when a shoot or launch needs it.

The first weeks. A 30-minute call, then we read your last three months of enquiries together.

One team. Strategy, advertising, digital marketing and below-the-line work (BTL): events, stalls and shop branding. Your Loksatta ad, Google listing and stall then make one offer. Mumbai brands that want faster sales can also use our performance marketing (ads judged on enquiries and sales) and quick commerce marketing (selling on 10-minute delivery apps).

Print, radio, shoots and events. We book papers, FM and Akashvani, and outdoor sites with safety papers checked. Stalls and shoots are delivered within the PromotEdge group. Every film or ad shoot in the city needs BMC permission, so it goes into the timeline.

Languages. Our language partners write in Marathi, Hindi, Gujarati and English, and our team checks the copy.

Mumbai digital marketing FAQs

Short answers. For anything else, call or WhatsApp us.

  • It depends on channels, languages, ad budget and content volume. Ad spend goes to Google and Meta, apart from our fee. We don't publish a price list; after one call we send a written quote within 2 working days, with each cost on its own line.

  • No. Our office is in Kolkata, and our team is based in Mumbai, so we work with you in person. Navi Mumbai and Thane are served from this page. Each area is its own target in ads, because people and civic rules differ. By our count from Census 2011, about half of both named Marathi as their mother tongue.

  • Ask for a named account lead and a sample monthly report. Ask for ad spend billed apart and a clear answer on who holds the ad accounts. Look for native Marathi, Hindi and Gujarati writers, work for a firm like yours, and a clear way to leave. See what clients say and our client list before you decide.

  • Google search ads usually show first signals fastest, because they reach people who are already looking, and they can go live within days. SEO and social media take longer to build. The right mix depends on who buys from you. We watch cost per lead each month, and no channel is guaranteed.

  • Start with who buys from you. Marathi reaches the biggest single group in Greater Mumbai, Hindi and Gujarati matter in many areas, and English works for offices and business buyers. Shop signboards in Maharashtra must show Marathi text no smaller than any other language. Planning for western Maharashtra too? See our work on digital marketing in Pune.

  • No. Our client list has national makers and also small local businesses, such as a hair studio and an aromatherapy brand. We size the scope to your stage and budget. A Mumbai shop and a listed company get the same monthly report and the same account team, only with different channels and amounts.

  • Yes, with BMC permission. Under the 2025 guidelines, no board may exceed 40 ft by 40 ft. Lit and digital boards also need a traffic police no-objection letter. We confirm the licence before booking a site. This is general guidance, not legal advice.

  • A monthly report counts enquiries by source and area, so Mumbai, Navi Mumbai and Thane show apart. It shows your cost per lead, meaning what one enquiry cost on average. Then we say plainly what to cut and what to grow.

  • First signals often come in weeks, since search and social ads can go live within days. SEO and content take longer. The full picture builds over 3 to 6 months. Banks, brokers and fintech firms bid hard on the same searches, so some results come slower. We cannot guarantee results, but your report shows enquiries by area each month.

  • No. Contracts start from 3 months, and after that you can leave with 30 days' notice. We agree in writing, before work starts, who holds each ad account. Before we start you get a written scope, and ad spend, media and permits are on their own lines. So you can compare our offer with others and know what you are signing.
