Siliguriand North Bengal
A trade city between the plains and the hills sells in three languages, and the plan has to cover all of them. One plan, and every enquiry counted.
A strategist calls you in one working day.
Tea, trade and travel. One plan for all three.
Tea, trade and travel pull Siliguri buyers in three directions, and a budget spread evenly serves none of them. PromotEdge plans search, ads, websites, social media, print, radio and outdoor for North Bengal businesses, so you can trace each rupee to an enquiry or a sale.
Siliguri sells far beyond its own limits. Its corporation calls the city the "gateway of North East India". It says the city grew as a trading centre for Assam, Bhutan, Sikkim and eastern Nepal.
So we start where your buyers live. A shop needs people at the counter before Durga Puja. A hotel needs travellers who search before they land. A tea brand needs a website that a distant buyer will trust. We keep the plan easy to adjust.
One team plans your strategy, advertising, digital marketing and BTL (below the line: events, stalls and shop branding). Your Bengali newspaper ad, Google listing and mall stall then carry one message.
How we deliver it, and why
How your business model changes the plan
A tea brand selling packs to far-off buyers needs a trusted site and a story; see tea and agribusiness. A hotel or tour firm leans on search, reviews and listings; see hospitality. A trader who sells to dealers in the hills often needs search and a clear catalogue more than hoardings.
- Start from where your buyers live. Siliguri firms sell to Assam, Sikkim, Bhutan and Nepal as much as to the city. A one-page buyer map.
- Pick the language by the buyer. Bengali, Hindi and Nepali readers use different papers and phones. One version per audience.
- Check every outdoor site and board first. No-hoarding zones, the Bengali-first rule and tenders can sink a booking. A site list with the holder named.
- Book festive media early. Slots for Durga Puja to Chhath fill first. A calendar that starts in July.
- Report every month. Cost per lead shows what to stop. Enquiries by source.
Local economy: Siliguri's industries, companies and chambers
Industries
Jalpaiguri district says "Tea, Timber and Tourism" form the backbone of its trade. Dabgram Industrial Park has 106 acres and 48 units in engineering, feed, plastics and food and tea processing. SJDA says private industries are growing at Phulbari, along SH-12A and around the Eastern Bypass. STPI Siliguri, set up in 2006, offers 32 incubation seats. At the tea auction centre, its chairman told The Week there are 483 registered sellers, 497 buyer members and about 11 lakh sq ft of warehousing.

Companies and institutions
Few big head offices sit here. The University of North Bengal is NAAC-accredited. Inspiria Knowledge Campus at Matigara is a MAKAUT-affiliated college. Ambuja Neotia lists City Centre and the 400-acre Uttorayon township. Goodricke, a Dooars tea company, has its head office in Kolkata and lists no base in Siliguri.

Chambers and tea bodies
The Indian Tea Association says it was founded in 1881. The Tea Association of India lists up-country offices including "Dooars and Siliguri". The Bengal Chamber of Commerce & Industry says it opened in Siliguri in December 2015.

More on radio and venues
Akashvani's government card (rates from June 2017) lists Siliguri 711 kHz, Vividh Bharati 101.4 MHz and Kurseong 103.5 MHz. A listing site gives Dinabandhu Mancha about 700 seats.

Siliguri:what we do.
How a digital marketing agency in Siliguri spends your budget.
Three facts about this city shape almost every plan we make for it.
1. A two-district city that runs on tea and trade. Siliguri has been a municipal corporation since 1994. Its 47 wards sit in two districts: 14 in Jalpaiguri, the rest in Darjeeling. The provisional Census 2011 count was 5,13,263 people.
Tea Board figures for 2025 show West Bengal made 421.63 million kg of tea, about 30% of India's crop. In the Terai, the plains around Siliguri, small growers made about 83% of 186.74 million kg.
The Siliguri Tea Auction Centre opened on 29 October 1976, so it turns 50 on 29 October 2026. In The Week (September 2026), a former chairman called it India's second-largest CTC auction hub after Guwahati. CTC (crush, tear, curl) is the grainy tea most homes use for chai. Every buyer in this chain checks a website and Google before calling.
2. Three languages, with media for each. In 2011, 61.8% of Siliguri's people named Bengali as their mother tongue, 25.2% Hindi and 8.7% Nepali, as reported by ETV Bharat in 2022.
Under a 1961 state law, Bengali is the official language in the plains. Nepali shares that place in the hill subdivisions.
Online, TRAI (the telecom regulator) counts a "West Bengal" circle. It leaves out Kolkata and includes Sikkim. It had 49.23 million internet subscribers at the end of March 2026, and about 99% used broadband.
So most buyers are online, but they don't read the same paper. A consumer plan here often mixes Google and Meta with Bengali print or radio.
3. A packed festival season, then the tea calendar. West Bengal's 2026 holiday list puts Durga Puja from Saptami on 18 October to Dasami on 21 October. Lakshmi Puja follows on 25 October, Kali Puja on 8 November and Chhath on 15 November. Mahalaya, on 10 October, has passed.
In August 2026 the state's tourism minister said winter tea festivals are planned in Darjeeling and Siliguri, with no dates yet.
Shops and jewellers book festive media early. Hotels and travel firms can plan winter offers once dates are out.

What's on the groundin Siliguri.
| What | In Siliguri | What it means for your plan |
|---|---|---|
| Private FM radio | Three stations on the Ministry of Information and Broadcasting list (30 March 2026): 93.5, 94.3 and 98.3 MHz. | A small, simple radio plan for a sale or a launch. |
| Newspapers | Audit Bureau of Circulations members with a Siliguri edition: Uttar Banga Sambad (Bengali) and Dainik Jagran (Hindi). Sangbad Pratidin has a Siliguri e-paper, Bartaman a North Bengal section, and Himalaya Darpan reports in Nepali. | Choose the paper by your buyers' language. Ask each for its own figures. |
| Hoardings and boards | Siliguri Municipal Corporation (SMC) memo 416 of 3 March 2023 bars hoardings from Court More to Hospital More, and next to Kanchenjungha Stadium. A notice of 18 March 2025 made Bengali compulsory on top of signboards and hoardings. | Skip those stretches. As of March 2025, put Bengali on top. General guidance, not legal advice. |
| SJDA ad sites | The Siliguri Jalpaiguri Development Authority (SJDA) lets ad sites by online tender, including glow signs at Air View More and Jalpai More. Many 2022 tenders drew one bidder or none. | Check who holds a site before you pay. |
| City Centre and halls | City Centre Siliguri opened in 2007, with 5 lakh sq ft of shops. Courtyard by Marriott's Teesta Grand seats 500 for a banquet. Mayfair Tea Resort has 15 banquet halls. | Room for weekend activations, dealer meets and launches. |
| Bagdogra Airport | 36,57,078 passengers in 2025-26, up 13.6% (AAI). A new terminal for 10 million passengers a year was approved in August 2024, at ₹1,549 crore. | More travellers search for hotels, cabs and tours before they land. |
Sources as cited in each row, checked 4 and 10 October 2026. SJDA's sites come from its March 2023 status report and may have changed. The language shares are a news report of Census 2011 figures; other sources differ slightly.

Online work. Our team runs SEO (search engine optimisation: getting found on Google without paying for each click), Google and Meta ads, websites and social media. Your accounts and domain stay in your company's name.
Print, radio, outdoor and ground work. We book Bengali, Hindi and Nepali titles, FM and outdoor sites the city's rules allow, and you see every rate first. Stalls and dealer meets are delivered by our in-house team.
Languages. Ads and posts in Bengali, Hindi or Nepali are planned by audience. Think creative, act on numbers: we test the versions and keep the one that brings enquiries. We serve Siliguri with a servicing team based in cities across India, working hybrid and remotely through calls and shared screens. Our team is in touch every day, and we meet you in Siliguri at least once every three months, and for planning meetings, shoots and launches.

We can't honestly claim that title, and we would doubt any agency that does. A fairer test is fit. Has the agency worked in your trade? Can it show named results with numbers? Who will work on your account each week? Put these questions to everyone on your list, including us.

Yes, when your buyers are there. The hills, the Dooars and Sikkim read different papers and speak different languages at home, so we usually split creative and media by area. For online reach, TRAI counts Sikkim inside its West Bengal telecom circle.
-
Yes. Our language partners write in Bengali, Hindi, Nepali and English, and our team plans and checks every piece. In Census 2011 figures reported by ETV Bharat, 61.8% of Siliguri named Bengali as their mother tongue, 25.2% Hindi and 8.7% Nepali.

For this year, time is short. Durga Puja runs from 18 to 21 October 2026, Kali Puja falls on 8 November and Chhath on 15 November. Paper space, radio slots and good outdoor sites go early. For next year's season, start in July.
-
Yes, as of March 2025. A Siliguri Municipal Corporation notice of 18 March 2025 made Bengali compulsory on top of every signboard, hoarding and signage, alongside any other language. The corporation has also kept no-hoarding zones since March 2023, so check your site first. This is general guidance, not legal advice.

Every month you get a short report. It shows enquiries, cost per lead (what one enquiry costs you on average) and sales where you share them. It also says what did not work and where we would move the money next.
