Bihar's highest income per person sits in one district, and its buyers are not reached by one channel. You see what each rupee brought back.
A strategist calls you in one working day.
A coaching institute, a showroom and a builder in Patna each reach their buyers in a different way. PromotEdge plans search, ads, websites, social media, newspapers, radio and events for Bihar businesses, judged by the enquiries and sales they bring.
Bihar's highest income per person is in this one district.
The district's own website calls Patna mainly an administrative and educational centre. So your buyers are often salaried families, students and their parents, and the shop owners who serve them.
We start with three questions. How many enquiries do you get in a month? Where do they come from? How many become customers? Think creative, act on numbers. Sometimes the answer is a Hindi daily and an FM burst, sometimes Google search and a faster website.
If the plan needs more than one kind of work, one team handles it. That covers strategy, advertising, digital marketing and BTL (below the line: stalls, events and shop branding). So your paper ad, Google listing and Gandhi Maidan stall carry the same offer.
A coaching institute plans around admission months and Hindi print. A showroom leans on local search, reviews and a good board. A builder uses outdoor and site visits. A firm selling to other firms can often stay in English and online.
An older central MSME (micro, small and medium enterprises) profile has district data from around 2010-11. It lists 177 agro-based units (₹897.59 lakh invested, 987 jobs), 104 steel fabrication units and a leather footwear cluster of 1,500 units at Patna City. The district site lists grain, sugarcane, sesame and Patna rice among main exports, and credits FMCG and services for growth.

Sudha is the brand of COMFED, the state dairy federation set up in 1983 for Operation Flood. Its state page lists 14.85 lakh farmer members in 32,244 village societies and 22 dairy plants (undated). IIT Patna was set up by an Act of Parliament on 6 August 2008, with its campus at Bihta, about 40 km away. East Central Railway has its headquarters at Hajipur, formed on 1 October 2002. STPI, set up by MeitY in 1991, has a Patna centre for IT exporters.

At Bihar Business Connect 2024, companies signed MoUs for 423 units worth ₹1,80,899 crore, PTI reported. An MoU is a promise, not money spent. The Akashvani card, with rates from June 2017, lists FM Rainbow Patna at ₹550 gross for a 10-second spot in category I: the government's rate, not ours. PMC's tourism page says Bapu Sabhagar seats 5,000 and Gyan Bhawan 800.

Google says its Gemini web app works in more than 70 languages, including Hindi and Urdu. That helps with first drafts of ad lines. A native reader still checks each one.

Our view: drafts and reports will get faster. Knowing Patna's buyers stays with people. Want us to look at your plan? Ask us.
Before you book a Patna hoarding, is the site even legal?

03A Bihar buyer opens your site on a phone before calling. Is it ready for them?

What can't be measured can't be achieved.
These change where we would put your budget in Bihar's capital.
1. A fast-growing state, with the money in Patna. PRS Legislative Research puts Bihar's GSDP (the total value of everything the state produces in a year) at ₹13.1 lakh crore for 2026-27. That is 15% more than the year before, against 10% for India. Services made up about 54% of the economy in 2024-25.
Patna district's income per person was ₹2,41,220 in 2023-24, more than double Begusarai, the next district, at ₹1,05,600. Eleven districts were below ₹50,000.
2. Hindi first, Urdu for many, English for business. Hindi is Bihar's official language, and a 1981 change to the Official Language Act added Urdu as a second official language. The district lists Hindi and Urdu as its languages.
Bihar alone had 66.87 million internet subscribers at the end of March 2026, by TRAI's count (TRAI is the telecom regulator). A shop or school selling to families usually needs Hindi in print and on phones. A firm selling to other firms can often stay in English and online.
3. Durga Puja and Chhath set the year's peak. Bihar's holiday list puts Durga Puja on 17 to 21 October 2026 and Diwali on 8 November. Bhai Dooj follows on 10 November, and the Chhath Puja holidays fall on 15 and 16 November. Holi, on 2 and 3 March this year, has passed.
Sonepur Mela, the fair in Saran district, opens every year from Kartik Purnima and runs for about a month. FMCG (fast-moving consumer goods) brands, shops and jewellers usually push hardest in October and November. Schools and coaching institutes plan around admission months.

| What | In Patna | What it means for your plan |
|---|---|---|
| Radio | Four private FM stations on the government's March 2026 list: 91.1, 93.5, 95.0 and 98.3 MHz. Akashvani has Patna 621 kHz, FM Rainbow 101.6 MHz and Vividh Bharati 102.5 MHz. | Short, repeated spots before a sale or admission deadline. |
| Newspapers | Hindustan, Dainik Jagran, Prabhat Khabar and Dainik Bhaskar each have a Patna edition listed with the Audit Bureau of Circulations. So do Hindustan Times and The Economic Times. The Times of India has been in Patna since the late 1980s. Qaumi Tanzeem prints in Urdu. | Hindi for families, English for business, Urdu for its readers. Ask each paper for its reach figures. |
| State outdoor rules | The 2023 rules put municipal sites to e-tender at the highest rate per sq ft. They ban alcohol, tobacco and drug ads, and any ad within 25 m of a traffic junction. A 2025 amendment needs a municipal licence for shop brand boards seen from public spaces (reported June 2025). | Liquor and tobacco brands can't use city outdoor. Budget for a board licence. |
| Patna Municipal Corporation (PMC) | February 2026 draft rules: ₹1.5 lakh to register for three years, at least ₹50 per sq ft, 25% extra at metro and airport sites, after state approval. In March 2026 PMC told owners to register every hoarding; by 12 March, 56 advertisers had registered about 11.1 lakh sq ft. PMC estimates no ad fees collected since 2014. The city removed all outdoor media in September 2017. | Treat the rates as proposed. Pay only for sites on PMC's register. |
| Fairs and City Centre Mall | Gandhi Maidan: Patna Book Fair (5 to 16 December 2025, over 200 stalls), Bihar Saras Mela (12 to 28 December 2025, 500 or more self-help-group stalls). City Centre Mall: Shoppers Stop's first Bihar store (October 2022), H&M's first Patna store (September 2023). | December fairs suit meeting families. National brands compete here, so local brands need sharper offers and reviews. |
Sources as cited, checked 4 October 2026. The PMC rates are a draft approved by its board in February 2026 and apply only after state approval. Festival dates come from published copies of Bihar's holiday list; check the state notification before you book media.

Yes, with the same team. Plans for other Bihar towns use different media. Muzaffarpur has four private FM stations of its own. Akashvani also runs stations at Bhagalpur, Darbhanga and Purnea. Spending power is much lower outside Patna, so offers and budgets change too.
It depends on who buys from you. Families and shoppers in Patna mostly read Hindi, and Urdu reaches readers who prefer it. Company buyers and senior officials often respond to English. Many plans use two versions, written by our language partners and checked by our team.
For print, radio and outdoor around Durga Puja, from 17 October, many good slots are often booked by now. Search and social ads can start within days. Chhath, on 15 and 16 November, still leaves a few weeks. Next year, start by July.
Yes, within the rules. Bihar's 2023 rules ban liquor and tobacco ads and any ad within 25 m of a traffic junction. A 2025 amendment needs a licence for brand boards seen from public spaces. PMC's proposed new fees are not final. General guidance, not legal advice.
You get a report every month: enquiries, where each came from and the cost per lead (your spend divided by the number of enquiries). If you share sales, we add those. Then we say plainly what to stop, keep and try.
