Dehradun,residents and visitors
A capital city that sells to residents and to visitors needs one plan that counts both. PromotEdge runs search, ads, websites, Hindi papers and radio for it. Each month you see which spend brought enquiries.
A strategist calls you in one working day.
People who live here, people passing through. One plan that counts both.
A Dehradun plan has to count two crowds at once, the people who live in the valley and the visitors passing through. PromotEdge plans digital marketing for firms selling in and around Uttarakhand's capital city: Google search, ads, websites, social media, Hindi papers, radio and outdoor.
Each part is then measured by the enquiries it brings you.
First, how we work with you. Our servicing team is based in cities across India, and most of the work runs online, in hybrid mode. We travel in for planning days, shoots and launches.
Each crowd finds a business differently. A homestay near Mussoorie lives on Google Maps and reviews. A supplier near Selaqui needs a few serious company buyers. So we look at your sales first, test a small plan, read the results and scale only what works. Good results should repeat, not happen by luck. What worked for your rival may fail for you.
If you need several kinds of work, one team plans them together. That covers strategy, advertising, digital marketing and BTL (below the line: stalls, events and shop branding). Every piece then carries one offer.
- 2015working with Indian brands since
- 65+in-house team: strategy, creative, media and tech
- 4pillars under one roof: strategy, advertising, digital, on-ground activation (BTL)
- 6cities: head office in Kolkata, teams in Mumbai, Delhi, Bangalore, Guwahati and Bhubaneswar
Think creative. Act on numbers.

SEO services
Many people who need a school or hotel here are somewhere else when they search.
02Website design & development
Guests driving up from Delhi have usually seen your website before they start the car.
03Advertising
One private FM station and three audited papers carry the valley, so every booking counts.
04Events & exhibitions
Relaxed guests rarely sign anything, so the business part must come before the hills.
Three things that shape a Dehradun plan.
Each of these changes where we would put your budget. The first is below; the other two are in the fold after it.
1. Visitors, a March fair and a shorter road from Delhi. Uttarakhand counted 6.03 crore tourists and pilgrims in 2025, its highest since the state was formed. Uttarakhand Tourism calls Dehradun a "gateway to several popular hill-stations". The district lists Mussoorie, 38 km away, and Rishikesh among its tourist places. The Jhanda Mela opens every year on the fifth day after Holi, at the Guru Ram Rai Darbar. The fair falls in March every year. The Prime Minister's site, PMIndia, says the Delhi–Dehradun Economic Corridor is 213 km long. It cuts the trip from over six hours to about 2.5 hours. For travel firms, hotels and cafés, that puts Delhi NCR families a short drive away. The table below has the details.
The people who live here, the state's economy and the media they use, with sources.
The Dehradun market in depth
Dehradun sells to two crowds. About 17 lakh people live in Dehradun district. In 2025 the Tourism Department counted 67.35 lakh visitors to Dehradun, second only to Haridwar. And it is the seat of government. The district's own site says Dehradun was declared the "Provisional Capital" of the new state in November 2000.
2. A state that makes things, and a city of institutions. PRS Legislative Research projects Uttarakhand's GSDP (the value of everything the state produces in a year) at Rs 4,27,716 crore for 2026-27, up 12%. Manufacturing was about 41% of the state's economy in 2024-25. In December 2023 the Global Investors Summit was held at the Forest Research Institute (FRI) in Dehradun. Companies signed 1,779 MoUs (signed promises to invest, not money spent) worth Rs 3,57,693 crore. In July 2025 the Chief Minister said Rs 1 lakh crore had been realised, as the news agency PTI reported. SIIDCUL, the state's industrial development company, runs a Pharma City at Selaqui. It also runs an IT Park on Sahastradhara Road. The Doon School has been here since 1935, Wikipedia records. So schools and academies sit beside pharma makers as likely advertisers.
3. Hindi papers, one private FM station and a lot of phones. Hindi is the state's official language, and in 2010 Uttarakhand made Sanskrit its second. Garhwali is widely spoken too. Wikipedia's Census 2011 figures put it second in Dehradun tehsil. ABC (the Audit Bureau of Circulations, which checks newspaper sales) lists three Dehradun editions. All are Hindi: Amar Ujala, Dainik Jagran and Hindustan. The government's March 2026 list shows one private FM station here, Red FM 93.5, and no other Uttarakhand city. So radio reach comes from Akashvani and that one station. TRAI (the telecom regulator) counted 87.33 internet subscribers per 100 people in Uttarakhand in March 2026, against 76.59 for India. That is why search and social media usually get a bigger share of a Dehradun plan, with Hindi print kept for family buyers.

Dehradun has one private FM station and three Hindi dailies. In 2017 the civic body removed thousands of unapproved boards and posters. Check the current rules first, and pay only for approved sites.

| What | In Dehradun | What it means for your plan |
|---|---|---|
| Private FM radio | One station on the government's March 2026 list: Red FM 93.5. | Radio plans pair this station with Akashvani. |
| Akashvani (All India Radio) | Primary channel Dehradun, 100.5 MHz. The CBC (Central Bureau of Communication) card from June 2017 lists Rs 500 gross for a 10-second spot in category I. Category II is Rs 300. That is the government's rate, not ours. | Category I is film and listener's choice music; category II is talk and other music. |
| Hindi dailies | Amar Ujala, Dainik Jagran and Hindustan: the three Dehradun editions on ABC's member list. | The main print choice for family buyers. |
| Outdoor rules | Under the city's 2009 advertisement bylaws (as reported), no hoardings within 25 m of a roundabout or on house rooftops. Gandhi Park, Patel Park and Deen Dayal Park are also out. Approved hoardings carry the line "Beautiful Doon, Clean Doon, Green Doon". | Fewer legal sites near junctions. We confirm the current rules first. |
| The 2017 clean-up | In November 2017 the civic body removed about 6,000 hoardings, posters and banners. The drive covered the Clock Tower, Garhi Cantt, Rajpur Road and Haridwar Bypass. | An unapproved site can vanish mid-campaign. Pay only for approved ones. |
| Forest Research Institute | Set up in 1906 on a 450-hectare estate. Its main building has been a location for Hindi films such as 'Student of the Year'. | A known look for brand shoots, with permission. |
| Rajiv Gandhi International Cricket Stadium | Opened the 38th National Games on 28 January 2025, before a crowd of 25,000. | Big-crowd days need sponsor space booked months ahead. |
| Malls and markets | Pacific Mall on Rajpur Road lists more than 200 shopping brands. Paltan Bazaar, near the clock tower, sells clothes, crafts and souvenirs. | A mall stall reaches city families. Paltan Bazaar reaches visitors buying gifts. |
| Getting here | Jolly Grant Airport, 20 km from the city, handled 18,71,115 passengers in FY 2025-26 (April 2025 to March 2026), up 8.5%. There is no metro; an electric bus plan got in-principle approval in January 2026. | Airport media meets arriving visitors. No metro ads exist. |
Sources as cited in each row, checked 4 October 2026. The outdoor rows describe the 2009 bylaws and the 2017 drive as reported; we found no later published fee list. Change is the only constant, so we check the current rules before you pay. Next, the closest work we can show you.
What affects the cost ofa digital marketing agency in Dehradun.
There is no price list online. After a first talk we write the scope, then quote. Media, printing, venues and travel are billed at actual cost, each approved by you first.
What affects the cost
- Print and radio. Adding Hindi dailies, Red FM 93.5 or Akashvani grows the media budget.
- One audience or two. Residents and visitors usually need separate ads and pages.
How we quote
- A video call on your goal, last quarter's enquiries and who buys from you.
- We check your Google listing, website and ads, and what nearby rivals run.
- We send a written scope: channels, languages and towns beyond Dehradun.
- The written quote follows within 2 working days of that first call, each cost on its own line. Nothing is booked until you agree.
What you get in the quote
- Resident and visitor work, shown separately
- Each language version on its own line
- Paper, Red FM 93.5 and Akashvani rates, at actuals
- Hoarding sites with each owner's permission details
- Ad spend, kept apart from our fee
How it is billed
| Way of working | When it fits |
|---|---|
| Monthly retainer | Ongoing work, reviewed every month; minimum 3 months, 30 days' notice to stop |
| Fixed project | A website (usually 4 to 6 weeks), a launch or one season's campaign; timeline confirmed in the quote |
| Media at actuals | Airtime, paper space, sites and ad spend |

Worked online. In Dehradun when the work needs us.
Dehradun clients are served by a servicing team based in cities across India. Most of the work runs online, in hybrid mode.
Meeting you. The first talk is a 30-minute video call with one of our strategists, so nothing waits for a trip. A one-page plan and a written quote follow within 2 working days, and nothing starts until you approve. After that, we meet you in Dehradun at least once every three months, and we talk to your sales team, who hear what buyers say. When a job needs it, a team member works from your office or site.
How each kind of work runs for Dehradun, and what else can change your quote.
How we work in Dehradun
Search, ads, website and social. Our team runs your SEO (search engine optimisation: showing up on Google without paying for each click), ads, website and social pages. You own the ad accounts and the domain from day one.
Papers, radio and hoardings. We book the Hindi dailies, Red FM 93.5 and Akashvani. For outdoor, we ask each site owner for permission papers, and you see every rate first.
Events, stalls and print. A launch or a fair stall is planned with you. It is delivered through PEXORA, a joint venture of PromotEdge and Prodigy, with partner agencies where a job needs them. Printing is handled through the same partner.
Hindi and English. We pick the language by who is buying. Our language partners write each version, and our team checks it. They also work in Bengali, Gujarati, Marathi, Tamil, Telugu, Kannada and more.
Who we are. We started in 2015 and work across sports, education, machinery and D2C (brands that sell direct to customers online). Most clients begin with one service. We also built Desi Machines, a PromotEdge group brand.
Choosing an agency here. Ask every agency, us included, three things. Who writes your Hindi copy? Whose name are the ad accounts in? Is media shown apart from the agency's own charge? Want a second opinion first? Ask for our free plan: a 30-minute call with one of our strategists and a one-page plan. We take on a limited number, so we'll tell you plainly if it's a fit.
What else changes the cost. Languages: each extra version, in Hindi or English, is written fresh.
Reach. Adding Mussoorie, Rishikesh, Haridwar or Delhi NCR buyers widens ad spend.
Outdoor and events. Approved sites, venue hire and travel.
Timing. A Jhanda Mela or festive push needs paper and radio booked early.

Our servicing team is based in cities across India, and an in-house team of 65+ runs your account, mostly online in hybrid mode. We speak every day. We meet you in Dehradun at least once every three months. For some clients, a team member works from their office or plant.

Nobody can answer that honestly, and we won't claim it. Ask each agency for a result in numbers, the person who will run your account, and how they would test before spending more. Clear answers earn a small first project.

Yes, from the same team. Mussoorie and Rishikesh are tourist places within Dehradun district. In 2025, Haridwar had the state's most visitors, about 3.42 crore. Invest Uttarakhand names Selaqui and Haridwar as electronics clusters. None of these towns has a private FM station on the government's list, so search, Google Maps and social ads usually do most of the work.
-
Pick by buyer. All three ABC-listed Dehradun dailies print in Hindi; English often suits company buyers and visitors. Our language partners write both. Garhwali is widely spoken too. If your buyers need it, ask early, and we check whether a partner can take it on.

The Jhanda Mela starts every year on the fifth day after Holi, so it falls in March. Book paper and radio by January of the same year. Our visitor figures are yearly totals, so we find your busy months from your own bookings and search data.

Yes, on approved sites. Under the city's 2009 advertisement bylaws (as reported), hoardings are not allowed within 25 m of roundabouts or on house rooftops. Three named parks are also out. We confirm current rules with the municipal corporation before you pay. This is general guidance, not legal advice.
