/ 01 Branding agency

A brand peoplerecognise and trust.

A company can grow and still look like the cheaper option, because its logo, pack or dealer board never moved with it. PromotEdge is a branding agency for companies stepping up to premium, from names and logos to guidelines, packaging and office branding, each tested wherever the brand will appear.

The problem we hear most is “our logo looks different on every dealer board”. Brand identity is the whole kit people recognise you by: logo, colours, fonts, imagery, tone of voice and the rules for using them.

In India, “wherever the brand will appear” is a long list: a signboard painted by a local vendor, a carton, a marketplace thumbnail, a WhatsApp picture. We list those places first, then design for the hardest one. We build on brand strategy, settled first if it isn't.

/ 03 What usually gets in the way

Where brands look uneven, and the way through.

“Our logo looks different on every dealer board.”

Dealers order boards locally, and each vendor redraws the logo. We give the trade ready-to-print templates, and fix the small places the old logo hides: Google profile, invoices, email signature and WhatsApp picture.

“We need a logo quickly. Do we really need strategy first?”

If you know who you sell to and why they should choose you, no. If you don't, we'll say so, because a mark made without that brief tends to be replaced within a few years.

“Our logo was made when we were small, and now the brand looks tired.”

That may need a refresh, not a rebrand. A refresh keeps the recognition you've earned and updates the look. A rebrand changes the position, often the name, and the whole system.

“We merged two companies and now have two names.”

How your names fit together (brand architecture) decides whether one leads, both survive, or a new one replaces them. The identity follows.

“Our pack disappears on the shelf and on the quick-commerce screen.”

A pack now has to read at shelf distance and as a small picture on apps such as Blinkit or Zepto. We design for both, with the mandatory declarations (details the law requires on a pack) planned in from the first draft. See our packaging design work.

“Our office doesn't look like the company we've become.”

Workplace branding turns reception, meeting rooms and the shop floor into the brand that clients and recruits meet in person.

“The name we like is taken online, or sounds wrong in another language.”

Shortlisted names are screened for obvious trademark conflicts, domains and handles, and for how they sound in your markets' languages.

“We're in a smaller city. Can you still build our brand?”

Yes. Our servicing team is based in cities across India. We stay in touch every day and meet you in your city at least once every three months, with design reviews on video. Signage and office branding need people on site, so our team and partners come to you.

/ 05 How we work

How a brandingproject runs.

We confirm the timeline in the quote before you commit. Anyone promising a complete brand in a few days is selling a logo.

  1. 01

    Discovery

Interviews with leadership and a review of everything the brand appears on today, with a list of every place the new identity has to work.

  2. 02

    Strategy check

Confirm or build the positioning, personality and brand architecture. Design starts only once this is agreed.

  3. 03

    Concepts

Think creative, act on numbers. A few distinct directions, each with its reasoning, shown on a dealer board, a carton, an ad and a phone screen.

  4. 04

    Refinement

Our job is to impress your customers, not you. The chosen direction is tested at small sizes, in one colour, on cheap print and beside regional scripts.

  5. 05

    Guidelines and files

Brand guidelines, master artwork (final print-ready files) and editable templates for letterheads, social posts and more.

  6. 06

    The switch

A plan for signage, packaging, stationery, website, social profiles and dealer material, so the brand doesn't appear in pieces over two years.

How we deliver it, and why

How your business model changes the plan

A dealer-led B2B maker needs boards and templates a local vendor cannot get wrong. A D2C or quick commerce brand needs a pack that reads as a small picture in a phone grid. A franchise needs one kit every outlet can follow. A services firm leans on name, voice and office. An exporter needs a name that sounds right in the buyer's language. A diagnostic or pharmacy chain needs one look in every branch: see healthcare. Based in Mumbai? See branding in Mumbai.

Refresh or rebrand?

A refresh keeps the colour, shape or name people know and updates the rest. A full rebrand fits after a merger, a new generation taking charge, a move into a new category or a name that holds you back. The risk is losing recognition with dealers, customers and search engines, so the switch needs a plan. Not sure where you stand? A marketing audit includes a brand review.

  1. List every place the brand appears. Design for the hardest place and the easy ones follow. A map from dealer board to WhatsApp picture.
  2. Show concepts on real uses. A logo on a clean white page proves little. Ideas on a board, a carton and a phone.
  3. Test small, in one colour. Weak marks break at small sizes and on cheap print. A system checked beside regional scripts.
  4. Write short guidelines. A hundred people will apply them, so they must be quick to read. Guidelines, master files and templates.
  5. Plan the switch. A brand that changes in pieces confuses dealers and buyers. A switch plan for signage, packs, website and dealers.

Go deeper: the rules for names and marks

Who sets the rules

IP India's Trade Marks Registry, set up in 1940, administers the Trade Marks Act, 1999 and the Trade Marks Rules, 2017. Its “before you apply” page links the public trademark search, in a standard and an AI-based version. We screen shortlisted names for obvious conflicts. Formal clearance and filing is a trademark attorney's job.

AI in branding: today and next

Today

Adobe's Firefly page says it makes images and vector graphics from text prompts, with Generative Fill and Generative Expand. It says Adobe's own Firefly models are commercially safe and that outputs carry Content Credentials. We use such tools for rough routes. A designer draws and tests the final mark, and a trademark attorney should clear it.

Our view: templates, pack mock-ups and size variants will be generated faster. Deciding what the brand stands for, and checking it on a dealer's board, stays human work. Curious where AI could save you time? Ask us.

/ 07 Cost

What branding costs.

We don't publish a price list. Each project gets a written list of what we will do and a quote before design starts. Printing, signage production and installation are quoted separately.

What affects the cost

  • Logo only, a full identity system, or a rebrand with the work that follows
  • Whether naming and trademark screening are needed
  • The number of packs, sizes and variants
  • How many templates and guideline pages your team needs
  • Workplace branding: the number of sites, the area and the materials

How we quote

  1. We talk about what the brand has to do: a new logo, a full identity or a rebrand with the work that follows.
  2. We look at your current logo, packaging, signage and the places the brand appears.
  3. We write down the deliverables, the packs and sizes, and any sites to be branded.
  4. You get a quote within 2 working days, with design on one side and printing and signage at actuals on the other.

What you get in the quote

  • Whether the work is a logo, an identity system or a rebrand
  • Naming and trademark screening, if you need them
  • The guideline pages, master artwork and templates handed over
  • Printing, signage production and installation, each as its own line

To compare quotes fairly, check which files, templates and guideline pages each one hands over. Branding an office or plant? Our workplace branding page covers that work.

/ 08 What happens next

What happensafter you ask.

For projects we think we can help, this is how it goes.

    A strategist calls you

In one working day: a 30-minute call with one of our strategists about your business and what is not working.

  2. 02

A short, honest plan: what to fix first and what we would do. It is free.

  3. 03

If you want to go ahead, we send a quote within 2 working days.

We confirm the timeline in the quote. Contracts start at 3 months, with 30 days' notice to stop.

Straight answers.

  • It depends on the work covered, not a standard rate. A logo is one project, a full identity with naming and packaging is another, and a rebrand with the work that follows costs the most and takes longest. We quote against a written list, with printing and signage at actuals, and confirm the timeline in the quote.

  • A branding agency decides how your company is named, looks and sounds, and makes that work wherever buyers meet you. The logo is the mark. The identity is the system around it. The brand is what people think and feel, which the identity shapes. A logo can be quick; a brand is built over years.

  • Check seven things: strategy before logos, concepts on real uses, past work with the client named, a clear list of files you receive, who owns them, help with the switch, and how success will be reported. Ask us the same seven.

  • By what buyers do, not by how much people like the logo. Before launch we agree the signs to watch: enquiries by name, brand searches on Google, the price buyers accept, and dealers using the new material. You see them in a monthly report.

  • You receive master artwork in every format you need, plus editable templates for your most-used materials. Rights and file handover are written into the proposal, so you can print, sign and publish without asking us. Check this with any agency before you sign.

  • We screen shortlisted names for obvious trademark conflicts, existing companies, domains and social handles before you get attached to one, and we check how they sound in your buyers' languages. Formal clearance and filing should be done by a trademark attorney, and we work alongside yours.

  • It can, if the switch is careless. Dealers keep old signboards, customers search the old name, and sites lose rankings when URLs change without redirects. We plan the switchover with our SEO (search engine optimisation) team, including redirects, Google Business Profiles and marketplace listings.

  • It is the brand applied to your physical space: reception walls, meeting rooms, wayfinding signs, shop floors and showrooms. It matters to visitors and to people you hire. We plan the design and the sites with you, and production and installation are delivered within the PromotEdge group.
