/ 01 Website design for doctors

Two kinds of practice. Two kinds of help.

Many doctors' websites show a degree and a phone number, but cannot show this week's timings or hand a booking to someone who reads it. PromotEdge designs and builds the website, and the front-desk systems behind it, for doctors and group practices, and does not run promotion or lead generation for them.

Clinics, dental clinics, diagnostic centres and wellness centres run as businesses get our full service.

Own a clinic as a doctor? We promote the clinic as a business, not your practice, case by case: write to us. Hospitals follow the doctors' line: see hospitals.

The basics

6 items

For doctors and clinics

6 items
  • Registration number on signboard and prescriptionsIndian Medical Council Regulations, 2002, clauses 1.4.1 and 7.13.
  • Fees and charges shown before serviceCode clause 1.8. Also the Clinical Establishments Act, where your state has it.
  • Appointment booking systemA booking form, a shared diary and reminders only for patients who agreed.
  • Patient-consent formsDPDP Act, 2023, sections 5 and 6: say why you need the data.
  • NABH mark, only if you hold itOnly for services in scope, with the certificate number. NABH-AM.
  • One doctor list for site and printOne list updates every page, board and form.

/ 04 Where we start

From a messy front deskto one clear flow

StepWhat we doWhy
Map pages and factsA page for each doctor: registration number, timings, fees. The 2002 code asks for the number and fees.
Design and buildGraphic design and a light website, tested on phones. The code bars publicity: facts only.
Join booking to the CRMForm and calls feed one CRM, with one shared WhatsApp number.WhatsApp needs opt-in.
Train staff, then reportWe train the front desk, then add a manager dashboard.Systems work only when people use them.

One law covers even a single-doctor clinic. Patients check the basics online, so the facts and the front desk must be right.

Doctors and clinics in depth

The rule that matters

The Clinical Establishments Act, 2010 covers all kinds of clinics, including a single-doctor clinic and a diagnostic centre. It took effect on 1 March 2012 in four states and in all Union Territories except Delhi. Seven more states have adopted it. Charges and facilities are to be shown prominently at each clinic.

How patients decide

Our view: a patient hears of a doctor from family, checks the name, registration number and timings online, and then calls. They drop out when timings are old, nobody answers, or the form asks about symptoms. A clinic is judged the same way, with reviews and fees added.

What you can do, and what is not ours

You can keep one timetable, show your registration number and fees, and name one person to answer calls. You can ask patients before you message them. Medical wording and the reading of the code are not ours. Your State Medical Council or lawyer decides those. We do not run promotion for individual doctors.

How we would deliver, and why each step

First we map the facts, such as registration number, timings and fees, because the 2002 code asks for them. Then we design the site and test it on phones. Next we join form, diary and calls into one CRM, because lost requests are the common gap. Last we train the front desk, because systems work only when people use them.

Bodies to know

NMC: the National Medical Commission, a statutory body under the Ministry of Health and Family Welfare. Its site says it works for a regulatory framework for medical education and medical practice.

NABH: the National Accreditation Board for Hospitals and Healthcare Providers. It calls itself India's apex body for healthcare quality and patient safety, and it lists programmes for allopathic clinics and dental clinics.

Not sure whether the website or the front-desk system comes first? Let's think it through together. Talk it through

/ 05 Sound familiar?

Where a practice's website andfront desk let people down

“The diary and the website form are separate. Nobody can track a request.”

We join the form and the diary to one CRM (customer relationship management) list.

“Patients say they filled the form and nobody called back.”

Every entry reaches the CRM and a named phone. The form never asks about symptoms.

“Patients message the receptionist's phone, and nobody sees them on her leave.”

One shared number the CRM sees. Reminders go only to patients who agreed. WhatsApp and the Digital Personal Data Protection (DPDP) Act, 2023 require this.

“The manager copies three sheets monthly, yet nobody sees where calls get lost.”

A CRM dashboard shows requests, visits kept or missed, and unreturned calls.

“Google shows old timings for our branches, and we cannot tell where enquiries came from.”

Google needs a real place open at stated hours. It bans staff and family reviews and rewards, so we ask every patient once and count each enquiry.

Does one of these sound like your front desk? Tell us which, and we'll tell you where we'd start. Tell us which

/ 06 Cost

What affects the cost of a doctor's website and systems.

No price list. These things move the number.

We don't publish a price list. One chamber may need only a website, and we'll say so.

What affects the cost

  • Number of doctors and chambers.
  • What you have today. An old site, a PDF or a paper register.
  • Software and hosting. Billed at actuals.

How we quote

  1. A 30-minute talk about your front desk
  2. We write the scope
  3. A written quote within 2 working days

What you get in the quote

  • Designed pages and forms
  • A CRM with diary and reminders
  • Accounts and logins owned by you

How it is billed

Way of workingWhen it fits
WebsiteUsually 4 to 6 weeks; other timelines confirmed in the quote
Support after launchMinimum 3 months, 30 days' notice to stop

Our beliefThink creative. Act on numbers.

/ 07 Our stance

Why we do not promote doctors, and what a site may carry

A patient who chooses a doctor because of promotion, rather than skill, may risk his or her life. We do not want to help with that, so we do not run promotion or lead generation for individual doctors or for hospitals. We gladly design their websites and build their systems.

The code. On 23 August 2023 the National Medical Commission (NMC) brought back the 2002 Indian Medical Council ethics regulations and put its own 2023 rules on hold. Nothing newer was listed on 4 October 2026.

What to show. Name, qualifications, speciality and State Medical Council registration number go on signboards and prescriptions, and the number goes on receipts. Fees are announced first.

What the code bars. Soliciting patients, publicity about your skill, boasting of cases or cures, endorsing a product, and a self photograph on a signboard.

Patients stay private. A photo or case report needs permission if the patient could be identified. The DPDP Act, 2023 wants consent that is easy to withdraw.

It covers modern medicine; Ayurveda or homoeopathy may follow another code, so we check yours first. General guidance, not legal advice.

/ 08 What happens next

What happensafter you ask.

For projects we think we can help, this is how it goes.

A doctor, a group practice, a clinic or a wellness centre?

Straight answers.

  • No. A patient who chooses a doctor because of promotion, rather than skill, may risk his or her life. So we do not run promotion or lead generation for individual doctors or hospitals. We do design, websites and systems for them. Clinics run as businesses get our full service.

  • We design your website and set up a front-desk CRM (one list of every enquiry and appointment request), a booking flow and reminders. A dashboard shows visits kept or missed. AI tools sort messages and draft replies for your staff to check. They never give medical advice.

  • Yes. We build to the 2002 code that NMC applies: each page shows the registration number and qualifications, states fees first, and makes no claims about skill. Its 2023 rules were on hold on 4 October 2026. Your State Medical Council or lawyer should check the final wording. General guidance, not legal advice.

  • Yes, with full service: SEO (search engine optimisation), Google Ads, social media, reviews, WhatsApp and lead tracking. We count booked visits, not only clicks, and our servicing team is based in cities across India. See our healthcare page, digital marketing or dentists page.

  • We don't publish a price list. The cost depends on how many doctors, chambers or pages you have, what you use today, and the booking flow and systems you want. A written quote follows within 2 working days of a 30-minute talk, and you approve it before work starts.
