Surat, from the Bourse to the bazaar
A diamond office, a fabric market and a buyer abroad each need a different plan. PromotEdge makes each one with a servicing team based in cities across India. Then we show you what every rupee brought back.
A strategist calls you in one working day.
A city that trades with the world.Market it that way.
Surat sells diamonds and cloth to far-away buyers, and they often shortlist suppliers online. PromotEdge helps diamond houses, fabric traders, exporters and local brands win more enquiries from Google, social media, their website, Gujarati papers and radio.
Then we track which enquiries turned into orders.
First, how we work with you. Our servicing team is based in cities across India, and most of the work runs online, in hybrid mode. We travel to meet you, review results and plan, and for fairs and shoots. When a job needs it, a team member works from your site. We start with logic and your numbers, not with ideas we happen to like.

Surat:what we do.
SEO services
Fabric buyers search for the fabric, the weave or the product, not for your shop.
02Website design & development
Textile and diamond firms sell to people they may never meet, so the site meets first.
03Social media marketing
Most people here speak Surti Gujarati, and textbook captions can sound foreign.
04Advertising
One paper can split the city into three editions, so booking on a guess wastes money.
05Branding & identity
Goods made here travel far, yet the final buyer often sees someone else's label.
Trade, talk and timing: three things to know about Surat.
Each point changes where your first rupee in Surat should go. Two are below, and one more is in the fold.
1. Diamonds, fabric and the port at Hazira. SGCCI says Surat is the only city in India with 3 SEZs. An SEZ (special economic zone) is a tax-friendly area for exporters. SGCCI also places the Hazira industrial area about 15 km from the city. AM/NS India runs steel plants and power plants there. Adani's Hazira Port, a deep-water port, has five working berths. Such buyers check a supplier online before calling.
2. Surti Gujarati at home, many languages at work. The district administration says the city mostly speaks "Surti Gujrati". Its fact page also lists Sindhi, Hindi, Marvadi, English, Marathi, Telugu and Oriya. Gujaratmitra says on its site that it was "established in 1863". TRAI, the telecom regulator, counted 62.78 million internet subscribers in Gujarat in March 2026. That is 84.67 for every 100 people. So a sweet shop may need Gujarati in print and on Instagram. An exporter needs English on its website.

The Surat market in depth
Two trades drive Surat. The Prime Minister opened the Surat Diamond Bourse, a trading hub for diamonds, on 17 December 2023. Guinness World Records had already called it the "world's largest office building" that August. The Bourse's own site lists 4,700+ offices in 9 towers. On the cloth side, SGCCI (the Southern Gujarat Chamber of Commerce and Industry) says about 60% of India's man-made fabric comes from Surat. Buyers of both often shortlist suppliers online, from far away.
The home market is big too. Census 2011 counted 44,66,826 people in the area run by SMC (the Surat Municipal Corporation, the city's elected local body), 55.29% more than ten years before. SMC's awards page lists the "Cleanest City of India" award under Swachh Survekshan 2023, the national cleanliness survey. It also lists "Super Swachh League City of India" for 2024-25. Respect that civic pride in local posts.
3. A season that runs from garba to kites. The district's culture page calls Navratri "the most important festival" in Surat. Gujarat's 2026 holiday list puts Dussehra on 20 October, Diwali on 8 November and Bestu Varas, the Gujarati New Year, on 10 November. Surat's own festival is Chandi Padvo, the day after Sharad Poornima. Families eat ghari and bhusu in the open under the full moon. Many go to Dumas or Ubhrat beach. In December, SITEX '26, the 15th Surat International Textile Expo, runs from 19 to 21 December 2026. Uttarayan, the kite festival, closes the run every year on 14 January. Sweet shops, jewellers and sari sellers plan their biggest pushes for these weeks. The table below shows where to reach their buyers.

Where Surat buyersread, listen and meet.
Surat has six private FM stations and Gujarati dailies with Surat editions. Hoarding sites change hands with each city tender, and the metro was under construction on 4 October 2026. Test two stations before a sale, and ask who holds a hoarding when you book.
See the numbers and sources
| What | In Surat | What it means for your plan |
|---|---|---|
| Private FM radio | Six stations on the government's list of 30 March 2026: 91.1, 91.9, 92.7, 94.3, 95.0 and 98.3 MHz. | Test two stations against each other before a sale. |
| Akashvani (All India Radio) | Vividh Bharati Surat on 101.1 MHz. The government's 2017 card lists it at Rs 390 gross for a 10-second spot in the morning and evening slots. That is the government's rate, not ours. | A small, known cost for a first radio test. |
| Gujarati dailies | Gujaratmitra (since 1863). Gujarat Samachar and Sandesh list Surat editions. Divya Bhaskar runs three: Surat, Surat City Bhaskar and Surat Saurastra Samachar. | Print still reaches shop owners and families. Pick the edition by area. |
| Audited papers | Only two papers on the ABC (Audit Bureau of Circulations) member list have a Surat edition: Divya Bhaskar in Gujarati and Rajasthan Patrika in Hindi. Gujarat Samachar and Sandesh are not members. | Ask other papers for their figures in writing. |
| Hoardings | SMC gives hoarding rights by e-tender (open bidding online). On 4 October 2026, 18 were open: nine in the West Zone (Rander), and nine in the East Zone (Varachha) on their 6th or 7th attempt. | Site holders change with each tender. Ask who holds a site when you book. |
| Buses | SMC's BRTS (Bus Rapid Transit System: buses in their own lanes) phase I plan was about 29.7 km. SMC lists 450 electric buses in operation (April 2026). | We check who holds bus ad rights before quoting. |
| Trade fair venue | SIECC (Surat International Exhibition and Convention Centre) at Sarsana, set up by SGCCI: 13 hectares, with an air-conditioned dome of 1,16,000 sq ft and no pillars. | Plan the stall, the landing page and the follow-up calls together. |
| SGCCI and its fairs | SGCCI has served South Gujarat's industry since 1940 and lists 14,500+ direct members. SITEX '26 is on 19 to 21 December 2026 at SIECC. | Ads before a fair fill your stall. Follow-up after it wins the order. |
| Airport | 18,14,572 passengers in 2025-26, with international passengers up 31.1%. Surat became an international airport on 17 December 2023, as a Surat–Dubai flight began. | Buyers from abroad often see your website before they fly in. |
| Metro and bullet train | Surat Metro Phase 1 (40.35 km, 38 stations) and the bullet train station, designed with a diamond shape, were under construction on 4 October 2026. | Neither was running then. Check before you pay for station media. |
Sources as cited in each row, checked 4 October 2026. SMC's tender list changes often; we found no published SMC fee schedule or LED screen rules. The radio rate is the government's 2017 card, not ours. A paper missing from the ABC list may still print in Surat.
What moves the costof a Surat plan.
We don't put a price list online. After a first 30-minute call with one of our strategists, we write a scope for your Surat work and quote against it. Media, stalls and travel are billed at actual cost, and you approve each one first.
What affects the cost
- Who you sell to. Buyers abroad need English search and a strong website; local shoppers need Gujarati.
- Language versions. One version, or Gujarati, Hindi and English versions of each ad.
How we quote
- A call on your buyers, your markets and last quarter's enquiries.
- We check your website, ad accounts and what a buyer sees when searching for your product.
- A written quote within 2 working days of the first call, with our fee kept apart from media, print and stall costs.
- Work starts when you sign; the first report comes a month later.
What you get in the quote
- Who we target: Surat buyers, other states or export markets
- Channels and language versions, line by line
- A calendar around Navratri, Chandi Padvo, Diwali and SITEX
- Media, print and stall costs at actuals, and who runs your account
How it is billed
| Way of working | When it fits |
|---|---|
| Monthly retainer | Search, ads, social media or a full plan, reviewed monthly; minimum 3 months, 30 days' notice to stop |
| Fixed project | A catalogue website, a fair or one festival campaign; timeline confirmed in the quote (a website is usually 4 to 6 weeks) |
Our beliefThink creative. Act on numbers.

Online first, then in person. How we work with Surat.
We have worked with Indian brands since 2015. Your account is run by a servicing team based in cities across India, mostly online, in hybrid mode.
First steps. A 30-minute video call with one of our strategists about last quarter's enquiries and where they came from, then a written quote within 2 working days. Visits are planned around fairs and launches.
Test small, then scale. We don't copy a rival's plan. We believe in process. Good results should repeat, not happen by luck. We might run one FM station against one Gujarati daily for a month, read the enquiries, then back the winner.
More on how we run each kind of work in Surat, and what else can change your quote.
How we work in Surat
One team plans it all: digital marketing, advertising and BTL (below the line: stalls, events and shop branding). SEO (search engine optimisation) gets you found on Google without paying for each click. Your SITEX stall, Gujaratmitra ad and Google listing then make one offer. The three points below show where we would start.
Online work. Search, ads, your website and social media run online, in accounts held in your firm's name.
Papers, radio and boards. We book papers, FM and Vividh Bharati. For hoardings, we deal with each site's SMC tender holder, and you see their rate first.
Stalls, fairs and shoots. A SITEX stall or a showroom launch is planned with you and delivered through PEXORA, a joint venture of PromotEdge and Prodigy. Brochures and catalogues are printed through the same partner.
Gujarati, Hindi and English. A Varachha shop and a buyer in Dubai need different words, so our language partners write each version for its own reader, and our team checks it.
Choosing an agency in Surat. Talk to two or three, us included. Ask each for a monthly report with the client's name hidden, and who will write your Gujarati ads. Pick the one whose answers are plainest. The next section shows what moves the cost.
What else changes the cost. Timing: media books up from Navratri to Bestu Varas, and again before SITEX in December.
Outdoor. Hoarding rates are set by whoever won the SMC tender, and they differ by zone.
Fairs. Stall size at SIECC, production and travel.
Area. Surat alone, or Navsari, Bardoli and Vapi as well.
Comparing quotes? Go line by line: GST, ad spend, Gujarati versions and who does the work.

Our servicing team is based in cities across India, backed by an in-house team of 65+. Most of the work runs online, in hybrid mode. We stay in touch every day and meet you in Surat at least once every three months. For some clients, one of our team works from their office or plant.

We can't honestly give ourselves that title, and be careful of any agency that does. Ask each one for a sample report from a firm like yours, the person who will run your account, and media costs listed apart from the fee.

Yes, with the same team, with each area reported on its own. Divya Bhaskar prints separate editions for Navsari, Vapi and Bardoli Vyara, so print can be bought area by area. SGCCI, with 180+ member associations, has served South Gujarat's industry since 1940.
-
It depends on who buys from you. Families and shop owners often prefer Gujarati. For Hindi readers, Rajasthan Patrika prints a Surat edition. Buyers abroad usually read English. Our language partners cover all three, plus French, Spanish, Japanese, Mandarin, Portuguese or Korean for export buyers.

Early. In 2026 Dussehra is on 20 October, so Navratri's nine nights come before it, and Diwali follows on 8 November. Chandi Padvo, the day after Sharad Poornima, falls in October; we confirm its date before booking. Paper and radio slots fill first; search and social ads can start within days. For Uttarayan on 14 January, plan in November.

Yes, via the site holder. SMC gives hoarding rights zone by zone through online e-tenders. On 4 October 2026, 18 tenders were open, and the East Zone ones were on their 6th or 7th attempt. We found no published SMC fee schedule or LED rules, so we confirm each site's permit and rate first. General information, not legal advice.
