Be the sourceAI answers quote.

AI tools name the brands that other sites already talk about. PromotEdge runs AI SEO so ChatGPT, Gemini, Perplexity and Google's AI Overviews can read, quote and trust your site, and send you enquiries.

GEO (generative engine optimisation), AEO (answer engine optimisation) and LLM SEO are names for one job, built on normal SEO.

More buyers now ask an assistant before they search. Who services CNC machines near Pune? The assistant names a few sources. If you are not one, you are missing, however well you rank below. It pays back first for mid-to-large brands where buyers research for weeks, as industrial buyers and home buyers do.

PromotEdge is a marketing and growth agency, and AI SEO is one part of how we grow your business. Using AI inside your own sales and support is a different job, on AI automation.

Our method comes from our own research. In early October 2026 we put 22 buyer questions about agencies in India to Perplexity and Google's AI answers, then studied 18 cited pages. Ten had a table, 16 a visible FAQ, 13 a 2026 update date and 10 a named author. Cost answers cited only pages that published ₹ ranges. We apply the same method to our own site.

01

AI visibility baseline

A fixed set of buyer questions run across ChatGPT, Gemini, Perplexity and AI Overviews. Who is named today, and from which pages.

02

Crawler access and indexing

Rules that let OAI-SearchBot, PerplexityBot and Bingbot in, plus Bing Webmaster Tools and IndexNow, because ChatGPT search and Copilot use Bing's index.

03

Answer-first pages

Priority pages reworked with the answer first: plain definitions, steps, comparison tables and ₹ ranges an AI can lift cleanly.

04

Structured data and company facts

Organization, Service, FAQPage, Article and Person schema, with links to your official profiles, so tools know exactly which company you are.

05

Named experts

Real authors and reviewers with roles and public profiles. A page by “admin” gives an assistant no reason to trust it.

06

Outside proof

Trade-press coverage, directory and review profiles, and the lists AI already cites in your category. Our content and PR (public relations) team earns them with facts. We never plant reviews or posts.

07

AI Overviews work

Sound SEO and a clear answer. Google says a page only needs to be indexed and eligible for a snippet, with no extra technical steps (Google Search Central, 2025).

08

Tracking and refresh

Monthly tracking of the question set, AI referral visits and branded searches. Engines change sources often, so we re-test every quarter and refresh key pages.

/ 03 What usually goes wrong

Why AI toolsskip some brands.

“ChatGPT names three of our competitors and never us.”

Assistants repeat what the open web says clearly and often. We find which pages and lists they quote in your category, and what your competitors have that you don't.

“We rank on Google, so why doesn't AI mention us?”

Ranking and being cited differ. Quoted pages answer in the first two sentences, use tables and show dates. Many ranking pages bury the answer.

“AI describes our company wrongly.”

It is reading old profiles, directories or your outdated pages. We fix the facts at the source, so your site, profiles and directories say the same thing.

“Our IT team blocked AI bots to be safe.”

Blocking OAI-SearchBot or PerplexityBot can keep you out of those answers. We set crawler rules that match your goals and keep private content private.

“We don't know if anyone reaches us from AI tools at all.”

Visits from ChatGPT, Perplexity and Gemini show in GA4 (Google Analytics 4) as referral traffic once tracking is set up. We report them monthly and tie visits to enquiries in your CRM (software that keeps every enquiry).

“Our Google clicks are falling, and a box of AI text now sits above our link.”

When the answer shows on the page, fewer people click. We check which of your searches now show an AI answer and shape your pages to be its source.

“Our catalogue is a PDF and our specifications are pictures.”

AI tools read text and tables far better than scanned brochures. We turn key products and specifications into plain pages with tables, and keep the PDF as a download.

“An agency promised we'd be the first answer in ChatGPT.”

No one can promise that. Answers change from one question to the next and month to month. We commit to the method and to honest tracking.

Our beliefWe'd rather show you results than a nice presentation.

/ 04 How it runs

Six steps,first fixes in weeks.

We believe in process, because good results should repeat, not happen by luck. Month one is access and facts. Page work and outside proof build from month two. The first step is a 30-minute AI check: a call with a strategist and a one-page plan on where AI would help your business first. It is for projects we think we can help. We take on a limited number and say honestly if it is a fit.

  1. 01

    Agree the questions (week 1)

We list the questions your buyers ask, worded the way they would type or say them. This list is the yardstick for everything after.

  2. 02

    Baseline (weeks 1 and 2)

We run the questions on ChatGPT, Gemini, Perplexity and AI Overviews, and log who is named and from which pages.

  3. 03

Open the doors (weeks 2 to 4)

Crawler access, Bing indexing, structured data and company facts fixed. Small technical work that unblocks the rest.

  4. 04

Rework priority pages (from month 2)

Answer-first openings, tables, FAQ blocks, named authors and visible update dates on the pages that should be cited.

  5. 05

Build outside proof (from month 2)

Profiles, reviews, trade-press stories and expert comment where your buyers read. Earned, never planted.

  6. 06

    Track and refresh (monthly)

The same questions re-run, AI referral visits and branded searches reported, and key pages refreshed every quarter.

More on this

How we deliver it, and why

How your business model changes the plan

A B2B maker with PDF catalogues needs its specifications as plain pages with tables. A D2C brand needs reviews and comparison pages an assistant can quote. A SaaS company needs a clear page for each use case and price band. A franchise needs the same company facts on every outlet profile.

  1. Agree the buyer questions first. A fixed list is the only fair way to see change from one month to the next. A list of questions in your buyers' own words.
  2. Run them on each assistant before touching the site. Each assistant leans on different sources, so who gets named differs. A table of who is named today, and from which pages.
  3. Open the doors. A blocked crawler keeps you out of that assistant's answers, however good the page. Benjamin Saradar, our Tech Lead for Web Solutions, leads the website and server work. Crawler rules, Bing indexing and company facts fixed within weeks.
  4. Rework a few priority pages, answer first. Assistants lift a clear answer and skip a page that buries it. Pages with a short answer, a table, a named author and a date.
  5. Earn outside proof. Assistants repeat what several independent sites say about you. Profiles and press you can open and check.
  6. Re-run the same questions monthly. Answers change from one month to the next, and one screenshot proves nothing. The same table, updated, with AI referral visits beside it.

Go deeper: crawlers and Indian buyers

What each crawler is for

OpenAI says OAI-SearchBot shows sites in ChatGPT search, GPTBot gathers content that may train its models, and ChatGPT-User acts when a person asks. Each is set separately in robots.txt, so a site can allow search and refuse training. Perplexity says PerplexityBot surfaces sites in its results and is not used to train its models.

Indian buyers and AI tools

The Kantar and IAMAI Internet in India report found that 39% of users find AI tools helpful for productivity and better online experiences.

AI search: today and next

Today: no special files needed for Google

Google says there are "no additional technical requirements" for AI Overviews and AI Mode beyond being indexed and eligible for a snippet. Site owners do not need new AI text files or special markup, and structured data should match the visible text. Visits from these features are counted in the Search Console Performance report, under Web.

Our view: assistants will keep changing their sources, so a fixed question list tracked monthly will tell you more than any single screenshot. Want us to run the first round on your brand? Ask us.

/ 06 Cost

What affects the cost of AI SEO.

We usually plan AI SEO together with SEO, because most of the work is shared. On its own, it starts with the AI visibility baseline, and we quote after that.

What affects the cost

  • How many priority pages need reworking
  • How much outside proof is missing: profiles, reviews, press
  • The number of buyer questions and engines we track
  • Whether your SEO base is sound or needs fixing first
  • Industry rules on claims, for example in healthcare and finance

How we quote

  1. We ask which buyer questions matter most, and which AI tools your buyers use.
  2. We run a short baseline: your questions put to the main assistants, and who gets cited today.
  3. We send a written plan: pages to rework, outside proof to build, and how often we re-run the questions.
  4. We send the quote within 2 working days. It shows whether the work sits inside your SEO plan, stands alone or starts as a one-off audit.

What you get in the quote

  • The baseline, and the priority pages to rework in order
  • The outside proof to build: profiles, reviews and press
  • Crawler rules and company facts we will set up or fix
  • The monthly re-run of the questions, with GST shown apart

GST is shown as its own line on every quote.

/ 07 What happens next

What happensafter you ask.

For projects we think we can help, this is how it goes.

  1. 01

    A strategist calls you

In one working day: a 30-minute call with one of our strategists about your business and what is not working.

  2. 02

    You get a 1-page plan

A short, honest plan: what to fix first and what we would do. It is free.

  3. 03

A quote, if you want one

If you want to go ahead, we send a quote within 2 working days.

SEO usually shows results in 3 to 6 months. Contracts start at 3 months, with 30 days' notice to stop.

Straight answers.

  • Very little. All three mean getting your business named and cited in AI answers. GEO stresses tools like ChatGPT and Perplexity that write answers; AEO stresses being the direct answer, including in Google's AI Overviews. It is one programme built on SEO.

  • It makes sure AI tools can find your website, understand who you are and name you when buyers ask: opening your site to AI crawlers, reworking key pages answer-first, keeping company facts the same everywhere and earning mentions. To choose one, ask for a baseline before any plan, and walk away from promises of the top spot in ChatGPT.

  • Yes. Our servicing team is based in cities across India and the work is online, so your city doesn't matter. We meet you in your city every three months, place a team member at your office if needed, and test questions with your city's name.

  • Each works differently. Google's AI Overviews lean on Google's ranking systems; Perplexity fetches live, well-sourced pages; ChatGPT combines training with web search. To see if you are cited, we ask the engines your buyers' questions the same way every month, log who is named and pair it with AI referral traffic.

  • Technical and structured-data fixes can show within weeks. Being cited regularly usually shows first results in 3 to 6 months of steady work. Becoming a default source in your category takes longer still, as in SEO. We confirm the timeline in the quote, after the baseline.

  • Usually not, if you want to be cited. Blocking OAI-SearchBot or PerplexityBot can keep you out of those answers. Google-Extended is a separate Gemini control and, Google says, doesn't affect Search inclusion. We set rules that match your goals, and tell you what each one changes.

  • It is a proposed standard for pointing AI tools to your key pages. It is cheap, so we add one. How much the major engines use it is still unclear, so we don't rely on it. Clear, crawlable, well-structured pages matter far more.

  • We usually price it alongside SEO, because most of the work is shared. The fee depends on the number of priority pages and how much outside proof is needed. We don't publish a price list; we quote against a written list after the baseline.
