Industries · Steel and metals
For anyone who makes, trades or recycles steel and metals, and wants dealers and project buyers to ask for them by name.
A steel buyer compares rate and grade, then delivery date, so the supplier who wins is the one who is easy to check and easy to reorder from. As a steel and metals marketing agency, PromotEdge helps makers, traders, recyclers and dealers with dealer programmes, B2B leads, trade fairs, websites with specification tables and follow-up.
Steel and metals marketing helps a contractor, an architect, a project buyer or a dealer find you and check you before they call. That means a website with specification tables, a rate sheet, a dealer programme, a trade fair stall and a quick reply to every enquiry. B2B means business to business.
This page is for makers and traders of TMT bars (the ribbed bars inside concrete) and structural steel. It also fits stainless steel, pipes and tubes, aluminium, copper, scrap recyclers, and the dealers and distributors who sell for them. A stockist with one yard and a mill with many plants meet the same question from a buyer: why you?
Our servicing team works with clients in cities across India. If you make TMT or aluminium for homes, see building materials. If you make parts or machines, see industrial manufacturing. If you sell steel abroad, see exporters.

“An aligned partner is always a welcoming step. Someone who can think deep through lines, understand the matrix of product management. Fortunate enough, PromotEdge has been a partner in progress for me. …”
Bobby SrinivasChief Manager Marketing & Brand Marketing at Utkarsh IndiaWe start with two product lines and the states where you want to win, then add more of what works.
| Step | What we do | Why it matters in steel and metals |
|---|---|---|
| 1. Brand strategy | Choose two product lines and the states to win first. Write the one reason a buyer should pick you. | A narrow focus is easier to remember. |
| 2. Website and rate sheet | A site with grade and size pages, test certificates to download, a dated rate sheet and an enquiry form. | Engineers check you online before they call. |
| 3. Dealers and project buyers | A dealer programme for stockists. LinkedIn outreach and SEO (search engine optimisation) pages for project buyers. | Dealers decide which brand sits in the yard. |
| 4. Follow-up | Rate updates and quote replies on WhatsApp, with every enquiry held in a CRM (software that holds your leads). | A slow reply sends the buyer to the next quote. |
| 5. Fairs and film | A stall with one message and a short plant film, with buyer meetings booked before the fair. | Follow-up decides what a fair returns. |
Analytics and tracking holds it together. Each month we report enquiries by product and state. Then we report quotes and orders.
We don't publish a price list. After a 30-minute strategist call, a written quote follows within 2 working days. Stalls and printing are billed at cost.
| Way of working | When it fits |
|---|---|
| Monthly retainer | Dealer programme and LinkedIn work, with a monthly report and follow-up. Minimum 3 months, 30 days' notice to stop |
| Project fee | A website, catalogue, stall or film. A website takes 4 to 6 weeks, SEO shows results in 3 to 6 months. We confirm other timelines in the quote |
Stall builds go through the PromotEdge group. Media is billed at cost.
Every client and project is different. The cost depends on the effort it takes, so we price after the first call.

Real business problems, from sales to back office, each with a plain AI fix. A person stays in charge of every step.
India's steel imports reached a nine-year high in FY2024-25, and the government acted against cheap imports, so mills and traders face price pressure on quotes.
The AI fix A quote assistant tracks import prices, competitor offers and costs and drafts quotes quickly. The sales head approves every quote; it reminds the team to follow up.

In FY 2025-26, India made 170.15 million tonnes of crude steel and used 164.36 million tonnes of finished steel, says the Ministry of Steel. Per head, India used 115.7 kg, against a world average of 209 kg in 2025. Finished steel exports rose 35.9% to about 6.6 million tonnes, while imports fell 31.7%. Prices fell for three years and recovered in early 2026, and profits stayed under pressure.

Our view: a contractor or project buyer asks first for the rate, then whether the grade matches the drawing, then whether the load will come on the promised date. Architects and consultants often name the brand in the specification. A dealer stocks the brand that sells fast and pays well. Everyone then asks for the mill test certificate, the paper that shows a batch's grade and test results.
Our view: a test certificate with each batch, the right weight and size, a clear rate sheet and honest credit terms. They also expect one person who replies within the day. Buyers forgive a price that is a little high more easily than a load that is late.
Our view: large mills sell direct to big projects and to makers, and sell to everyone else through stockists and dealers. Traders work on rate lists that change by the day. Government and public sector buyers use tenders. TMT for homes moves through dealers and masons, and engineers approve it: see building materials. Parts and machine makers buy against a request for quotation: see industrial manufacturing.
The Ministry of Steel's National Steel Policy projects 300 million tonnes of capacity by 2030-31, up from about 220 million tonnes now, so more mills will chase the same buyers. Our view: AI today drafts first replies to rate and grade enquiries and sorts leads. AI next may name suppliers when a project buyer asks an AI tool. AI cannot test a bar or load a truck.

Kamdhenu began in the 1990s with one steel plant in Rajasthan, making bars. The company then lent its brand to independent steel makers across India. These makers, called franchisees, produce to its specifications. Dealers and distributors sell the bars, and Kamdhenu earns a royalty on the sales.
The company says it began this model in 2004. In 2016 it changed its name from Kamdhenu Ispat to Kamdhenu Limited and described itself as a branding and marketing company.
In July 2026 it told investors it has over 100 franchisees, over 12,500 dealers and more than 500 distributors.

You hold the BIS licence, run the tests, issue the certificates, bid for tenders and deliver the load. Credit terms stay with your bank, and accounts with your CA (chartered accountant). Legal papers go to a lawyer. We take the marketing: how buyers find you and check you, so they reorder.
First brand positioning, so you lead with one reason beyond rate. Next the website with grade pages, which engineers check before they call. Then the dealer programme and LinkedIn outreach to project buyers, so follow-up stays simple. Fairs and the plant film come last, once the message holds.
Saurav Agarwal, our Founder & CEO, takes the strategy call and the business review, and sets the budget and ROI (return on investment) logic. Sanjiv Yadav, who does our data research and B2B lists, prepares the first buyer list.
We start with logic and your numbers, not with ideas we happen to like.
Useful before you start. Open it when you need it.
Five things to know.
BIS mark and Quality Control Orders. BIS says its certification is voluntary unless the Central Government makes a standard compulsory. The Ministry of Steel has done this for many steel products through Quality Control Orders. Its list shows the latest amendment dated 23 June 2026.
Where the ISI mark may go. A BIS licence covers only the product varieties named in it. Use the mark on those and nowhere else.
Seconds and defective steel. The Ministry of Steel has published guidelines that describe non-prime steel: odd sizes or downgraded material. They are for general understanding, not law. Say plainly when stock is non-prime.
Green steel. India's Taxonomy of Green Steel (released 12 December 2024) rates steel made at under 2.2 tonnes of carbon dioxide per tonne of finished steel. Say "green steel" only if your plant holds the Ministry's certificate. Words like "eco-friendly" fall under the 2024 greenwashing guidelines of the CCPA (Central Consumer Protection Authority).
Government buying. The Ministry's DMI&SP policy (domestically manufactured iron and steel products) gives such steel a preference in government buying. A revised policy was notified on 17 December 2025. Make your brochure say what your bid says.
General guidance, not legal advice.
Rebar prices fell about 15% between April and August 2025, and smaller (secondary) steel producers' margins were expected to shrink in FY2026.
The AI fix A tool tracks raw material, power and selling prices and warns when the gap falls below a set level. The owner or CFO decides buying and production timing.
EU carbon border rules cover steel imports from 2026, so buyers use standard emission values, with extra added, for firms without verified emissions data.
The AI fix AI reads power bills, fuel invoices and production records and works out emissions per tonne. An emissions officer checks it before an accredited verifier signs off.
A power tariff rise in one state is estimated to raise billet cost in induction furnaces, with smaller producers facing more pressure.
The AI fix AI studies meter readings and furnace logs to find power-hungry batches, suggests cheaper times to run them and flags unusual use. The plant head decides all schedules.

Well-known Indian brands, each with one plain lesson for an owner in your line of work. Names only, as public examples.
Reach buyers through people they trust, such as dealers, fabricators and architects. Give each group its own page, and make nearby dealers easy to find.
What they did APL Apollo's website lists a 3-tier distributor network that includes dealers, retailers and fabricators, with separate pages for distributors, fabricators, and architects and engineers, plus a dealer locator.
Give each product its own clear name. Building bars, sheets and doors are bought for different reasons, so each needs its own message.
What they did JSW Steel's site lists 18 named brands, such as Neosteel for TMT building bars, Vishwas for galvanised sheets and Avante for steel doors and windows.

Publish real stories of your work. Name the problem the buyer had and how your metal solved it.
What they did Jindal Stainless's home page features two stories of its metal at work: stainless steel roofing that, it says, solved corrosion at two industrial plants, and coal tippers.
Let trusted makers produce under your brand, with clear quality rules. Your name can reach more towns than one plant can.
What they did According to the company, it has grown from a single manufacturing unit to a network of over 100 franchisee units across India.

It helps buyers find you and trust you enough to ask for a quote. For a mill, trader or recycler that means a dealer programme, a website with specification tables, B2B leads and trade fairs, plus quick follow-up. It sits beside your product and your delivery, and does not replace them.
Yes, mainly as the place where buyers check you. Engineers search for a grade or a size, and procurement teams look you up before they reply. We judge the work on qualified enquiries by product and state, not on clicks. See our digital marketing services.
Marketing does not win a tender. The bid does. But marketing helps project buyers know you before the tender comes out, and makes your papers easy to check. We prepare a vendor pack that puts your approvals and references in one file, and your quality and legal teams approve every claim.
Yes. The buyers differ, so the plan differs. A TMT maker needs dealers and masons. A stainless or pipe maker needs fabricators and project buyers. A scrap recycler needs steady buyers and clear grading. We start with who buys and how they decide, then pick the channels.
Only where the papers allow it. A BIS licence covers the product varieties named in it, and the ISI mark belongs on those. India's Taxonomy of Green Steel sets an emissions limit, so say green steel only with the Ministry's certificate. Your quality and legal teams sign off every claim.
No. We're professionals. We'd rather be blunt than pleasing. Orders depend on your product, price, delivery and dealers, as well as our marketing. What we can promise is a clear plan, honest monthly reports and more of the right buyers seeing you.
It depends on the scope, so we don't publish a price list. The main drivers are your products, your dealer network, how many grade pages you need, and any fairs or films. After a 30-minute strategist call, a written quote follows within 2 working days. Contracts run 3 months minimum, with 30 days' notice.
