Android and iOS app development for D2C brands, field sales teams and booking businesses. Not every business needs an app. Build one only when it will take orders, bookings and leads.
A strategist calls you in one working day.
Most business apps are built before anyone names their job, and few people install them. PromotEdge plans and builds Android and iOS apps for Indian businesses, each with one job: repeat orders, bookings, leads or field visits.
If we can't name the job, we don't start building.
We build for corporate groups, listed companies and startups, selling B2B (to businesses), B2C (to consumers) or D2C (direct to customers online). Field apps suit industrial and real estate sales teams. Booking apps suit healthcare.
Our test: would a customer open the app once a month, and miss it if it vanished? If not, a fast mobile website or a WhatsApp flow costs less. We will say so, and point you to website design and development, or to web application development when staff and dealers will use it in a browser, or to web portal development for dealer and customer logins.
Unsure whether you need an app at all? Most businesses start with a fast mobile website or a WhatsApp flow (it needs the customer's consent; check Meta's current message charges). Send us the job and we will tell you honestly: want us to look at yours?
Who uses the app, for what job, and what it is worth. Then a written list of first-version screens, features and integrations, and what waits.
UX (user experience) is how easy the app is to use; UI (user interface) is how it looks. We map each flow and test a clickable prototype.
Android reaches the budget phones Indians use. iOS suits urban or premium buyers. Apps leaning on camera, GPS or Bluetooth often need native work.
One shared codebase for Android and iOS, using Flutter or React Native. It usually cuts build time and keeps both in step.
The back end your staff use, often built as a web application, plus APIs (connectors that let systems swap data) to your CRM, analytics, payments and SMS.
Every flow tested on real Android phones and iPhones, on slow networks and offline, before anything reaches the stores.
Listings, screenshots, privacy details and review notes for Google Play and the App Store. We stay until the app is approved.
Bug fixes, system updates, crash monitoring and new features, plus ASO (app store optimisation) so people find the app.
Our beliefWe're professionals. We'd rather be blunt than pleasing.
“Lakhs spent, and few people installed the app.”
An app needs a reason to install and a plan to be found. We agree both before the build and plan the launch push with your marketing.
“People install it once, then delete it.”
Usually the app asks too much too soon, or does nothing a website couldn't. We design the first visit around one quick win: an order, a booking, a logged visit.
“The code and store logins sit with the old developer.”
Store accounts, code and server logins should be in your company's name from day one. We set them up that way and list each in a handover document.
“The Android app works, but the iPhone version lags.”
Two separate builds drift apart. Where the app allows it, we build once for both systems, so features ship together.
“Apple's review asked for changes.”
This usually means missing privacy details, a broken reviewer login or a feature that breaks store rules. We check the guidelines before submitting and fix what the reviewer flags.
“Orders from the app don't reach billing or stock.”
We map every place the app sends or fetches data before design starts: your ERP (software that runs stock and accounts), CRM, payment gateway and delivery partner.
“The sales team still fills paper forms after each visit.”
A field app with offline mode logs the visit, order and photo where there is no signal, and sends everything once the phone is back online.
“Most orders come through one marketplace or dealer, who keep the customer's details.”
An app pays off when your own customers will reorder on it. Where they will, we build the reorder path and a CRM (software that keeps every customer), so the relationship is yours.

As planning guidance, a focused first version takes about three to five months from first call to store launch. Want a timeline for your idea?
Calls with sales, operations and service. We agree the job, the users, the first version and how success is counted. Usually one to two weeks.
User flows, rough screen layouts and a clickable prototype, tested with a few real users before any code. Usually two to four weeks.
Final screens for both phone systems, plus the data plan: what the app collects, why, where it is stored and who sees it.
Two-week rounds, with a test build on your own phone after each. We can't do magic alone: faster feedback means a faster app. Usually two to four months.
Real phones, slow networks, no network, payment failures and wrong OTPs (one-time passwords). Then a closed test with your staff or friendly customers.
Listings, screenshots, privacy forms and review notes for both stores. Allow time for review, and for Google's 14-day closed test on a new personal account.
We agree one number the app must move. A monthly report shows installs, users after 30 days, orders, bookings or leads, and crashes. No published case of ours is an app project, so we show no app results here.
Tell us what’s not working. We’ll send you an honest one-page growth plan, free.
India saw 25.5 billion app downloads in 2025, up from 24.6 billion in 2024, and time spent in apps rose from 1.13 to 1.23 trillion hours. People use apps a lot, so yours needs a reason to stay on the phone.

Aadit Palicha and Kaivalya Vohra first built KiranaKart, a grocery delivery app working with kirana stores. It closed in March 2021 for lack of market fit. They founded Zepto in April 2021 around 10-minute delivery from small warehouses. A first app that missed showed them what to build next.

Chaayos, the tea cafe chain founded in 2012, had 68 cafes in Delhi NCR, Chandigarh and Mumbai when it opened in Bengaluru. Facial-recognition login lets regulars repeat orders without OTPs, cutting two minutes to 20 seconds.

A D2C brand builds the reorder path and loyalty first. A dealer-led business starts with dealer ordering and offline field logs. A clinic or institute starts with bookings. See D2C and ecommerce and education.
IAMAI, the Internet and Mobile Association of India, is a not-for-profit body of about 540 members working on policy, research and consumer trust in the digital economy. ASCI, formed in 1985, runs advertising self-regulation, so your app's ads follow its code.

Android's own page says Gemini in Android Studio can plan multi-step changes, suggest edits, make Compose previews, analyse crash reports and help with UI tests. We use tools like this for routine code; people review every line and decide what the app does. The free plan has usage limits.

Contractors trust the machine their peers run on site more than any brochure.
02The person who pays for the cement is rarely the one who picks the brand.
03Procurement checks you out long before your sales team is invited to talk.
04A buyer's interest fades fast when the enquiry reaches the right showroom late.
05Enquiries are easy to buy, but the sale is won or lost at the site visit.
06Your ad works for a rival if your product is missing from the shelf.
The quote follows a written scope that lists every screen, feature and integration. Third-party costs (store accounts, servers, SMS, maps, payment gateways) are billed at actuals and shown before you approve.
We quote a fixed-scope project, a phased build or monthly upkeep. When you compare quotes, compare the scope, not the total: who owns the code, how much testing is included, and what upkeep costs in year two. Want us to price yours?
For projects we think we can help, this is how it goes.
In one working day: a 30-minute call with one of our strategists about your business and what is not working.
A short, honest plan: what to fix first and what we would do. It is free.
If you want to go ahead, we send a quote within 2 working days.
We confirm the timeline in the quote. Contracts start at 3 months, with 30 days' notice to stop.

Rahul MishraAssistant Manager Digital Marketing & Ecommerce at Magik LightingIt depends on the screens, user types, platforms and integrations; a simple booking app and a delivery app with live tracking are different jobs. We quote against a written scope. Google Play charges US$25 once, and Apple's membership is US$99 a year.
As planning guidance, a focused first version takes about three to five months from first call to store launch. Discovery and design take about a month, build two to four months, then testing and store review. More integrations add time.
Look at your own buyers. Your website analytics show which phones your visitors use. Many Indian consumer apps need Android from day one, and urban, premium buyers may need iOS too. A cross-platform build often launches both for little extra cost.
We won't claim to be the best; nobody honestly can. Ask every company four things. Have they shipped an app like yours? Who owns the code? Who does the weekly work? Do they report orders, not just downloads? Ask us the same four.
Yes, wherever you are. We plan, manage and deliver the project, with one point of contact from scope to launch. Our in-house team of 65+ people does the work, with consultants and partner agencies where a job needs them. Our servicing team is based in cities across India, and we meet you at least once every three months.
No published case study of ours is an app project, so we show no app results on this page. We share relevant work in the first conversation, and you can ask how its results were counted. Ask any company the same, including us.
You should. The Google Play and Apple developer accounts, the code, the design files and the servers should be in your company's name. Any company should agree to that in writing, including us. If one won't, ask why, and put it in the contract.
General guidance, not legal advice: the DPDP Act, 2023 covers personal data your app collects, and its Rules, notified in November 2025, phase in over 18 months. Apple wants a privacy policy link in the listing and the app. Both stores need in-app account deletion. New personal Google Play accounts run a 12-tester closed test for 14 days.
