Search, ads, websites, Malayalam papers, FM and events for a port city where nearly half of all air passengers fly international. Worked online, met in Kochi, judged on the enquiries you get.
A strategist calls you in one working day.
A shipping agent near the port and a jewellery showroom in Edappally should never get the same marketing plan. PromotEdge runs search, ads, websites, social media, print, radio and events for Kochi firms.
It judges each plan on the enquiries and orders it brings in.
How we work with you: our servicing team is based in cities across India, backed by our in-house team of 65+ people. Most of the work runs online, in hybrid mode. We visit Kochi for planning and launch days. When a job needs it, a team member works from your site.
Kochi is not one market. Near the port and Vallarpadam, shipping and export firms sell to buyers in other cities and countries. These buyers find them online, mostly in English. In Edappally, Kakkanad and Maradu, shops, clinics and builders sell to local families. Those families often decide in Malayalam, close to Onam.
So we begin with your numbers, not a list of services. How many enquiries came in last quarter, and from where? A shipping agent may need only a sharp English website and search. A jewellery showroom may need Malayalam dailies, FM and an Onam plan. We tell you which fits, and why.
Two languages get typed in three ways here, and your pages must meet all three.
02Buyers here judge a firm by its website before replying, and a slow page loses them.
03A feed that wins likes but no chats or bookings is a cost, not marketing.
04Malayalam works for homes and English for firms, so an ad's language picks its reader.
05Kerala restricts PVC flex boards, so check the current order before you print a banner.
06Guest numbers and travel time decide the venue before anything else.
A port economy, a Malayalam-reading public that lives online, and a full festival calendar. The calendar is below; the port and the media are in the fold after it.
1. A calendar that runs from Vishu to the Carnival. Vishu, which Kerala Tourism says marks the solar new year in Kerala, falls every year in mid-April. Kerala Tourism calls Onam "The National Festival of Kerala". It runs for ten days in the Malayalam month of Chingam, every year in August or September. After them on the calendar comes the Cochin Carnival in Fort Kochi, every year from 23 December to 1 January. It ends with the burning of the giant Pappanji figure. Shops and builders care most about the weeks before Onam; Fort Kochi hotels, about December.
The port and its buyers, and the languages and media people use, with sources.
2. A port city that trades with the world. Cochin Port handled about 38.06 million tonnes of cargo in 2025-26. That was 4.16% of all cargo at India's major ports, by the shipping ministry's count. At Vallarpadam, DP World's container terminal moved 77,637 TEUs in May 2026, its record month of the year when reported. A TEU is one standard 20-foot container. Cochin Shipyard (1972) built the aircraft carrier INS Vikrant, and BPCL's refinery at Ambalamugal can handle 15.5 million tonnes a year. Of the airport's 1,13,02,552 passengers in 2025-26, 53,30,796 flew international routes. That is nearly half, far above any metro airport on the same table from AAI (Airports Authority of India). Ernakulam district, home to about 32.8 lakh people, has a relatively high per capita income, its website says. So many Kochi buyers are companies, some abroad, and your website is often where they meet you first.
3. Malayalam at home, English at work, and nearly everyone online. The Ernakulam district site says Malayalam is the official language, and English is widely used in business circles. Kerala had 35.55 million internet subscribers at the end of March 2026. That is 98.16 for every 100 people, says TRAI, the telecom regulator. Malayala Manorama, Mathrubhumi and Deshabhimani each have a Kochi edition listed by the Audit Bureau of Circulations (ABC). The ABC audits paper sales. A family may read a Malayalam daily at breakfast and search on the phone at night. A manager at an IT firm in Infopark, Kakkanad, may never open the paper. So a consumer plan often mixes Malayalam papers with mobile ads; a plan for company buyers leans on English and search.
We use AI to save your team's time. A person still makes the decision.

Kochi has four private FM stations, and two belong to newspaper groups. The High Court is strict about illegal boards. Test one radio spot first, and book boards only with a permission letter.
| What | In Kochi | What it means for your plan |
|---|---|---|
| Private FM radio | Four stations on the government's list of 30 March 2026, at 91.9, 93.5, 94.3 and 104.0 MHz. Two of them belong to the Malayala Manorama and Mathrubhumi newspaper groups. | One group can sell you paper space and airtime together. Compare that offer with buying each alone. |
| Akashvani (All India Radio) | FM Rainbow Kochi, 102.3 MHz. The government card dated 1 June 2017 lists it at ₹550 gross for a 10-second prime-time spot. That is the station's rate, not ours. | A cheap way to test one radio spot first. |
| Malayalam dailies | Malayala Manorama, Mathrubhumi and Deshabhimani have Kochi editions on the ABC list. Deepika (1887), Kerala Kaumudi (1911) and Madhyamam (1987) also print here, says Wikipedia. | Ask each paper for its own reach figures. |
| English dailies | The Hindu, The Times of India and The Economic Times have Kochi editions on the ABC list. | Suits business news, senior buyers and recruitment notices. |
| Illegal boards | The High Court ordered a ₹5,000 fine per illegal board in October 2023 and March 2025, with action against the advertising agencies involved. In August 2026 it found "only a negligible amount" collected. | We use only sites with valid permission. Expect stricter checks, and keep the papers on file. |
| Flex boards | Kerala restricts PVC flex boards; check the current order. In March 2019 the High Court barred them from election campaigns. | Plan banners and standees in recyclable material from the start. |
| Lulu Bolgatty International Convention Centre | Opened on 28 April 2018 on Bolgatty Island. The owner says its two column-free venues hold about 10,000 people together, and the LIWA hall more than 5,000. | Sized for dealer meets and conferences. |
| Kochi-Muziris Biennale | Its organiser calls it "India's first and largest international exhibition of contemporary art". The sixth edition used 29 venues and ended on 31 March 2026. The seventh is listed for 2027-28. | A design-minded crowd. Plan early for 2027-28. |
| Malls | Lulu Mall, Edappally, opened on 10 March 2013 and has more than 300 outlets, says Kerala Tourism. Forum Kochi at Maradu opened in August 2023 with a 9-screen multiplex. | Weekend and festival crowds for stalls, sampling and launches. |
| Metro and Water Metro | The Metro runs from Aluva to Tripunithura, with about 1 lakh trips a day in 2025. The Water Metro counted about 76.9 lakh passengers by 21 September 2026. | Commuter routes for transit ads. |
Sources as cited in each row, checked 4 October 2026. The flex-board order's details were not confirmed, so check the current rule before you print. General guidance, not legal advice.

Kochi clients are served by a servicing team based in cities across India. Most of the work runs online. We visit Kochi, and a team member works from your site when a job needs it.
First steps. We start with a 30-minute call with one of our strategists. Then we read your website, Google listing and last three months of enquiries. You get a one-page plan, and a written quote within 2 working days of the call. Nothing starts until you approve. We believe in process. Good results should repeat, not happen by luck.
How we run each kind of work for Kochi, and what else can change your quote.
One team runs every part of the plan: strategy, advertising, digital marketing and BTL. BTL (below the line) is face-to-face marketing, like mall stalls and dealer meets. Then your paper ad, Google listing and stall repeat one offer.
Online work. We run your SEO (search engine optimisation: being found on Google without paying for each click), ads, website and social media. The ad accounts stay in your company's name.
Papers, radio and outdoor. We book Malayalam and English dailies, FM and Akashvani, and only hoardings with valid permission. You see every rate before you approve it.
Stalls, events and printing. A stall at Lulu Bolgatty or a mall activation in Edappally is planned with you. It is delivered through PEXORA, a joint venture of PromotEdge and Prodigy. Printing is handled through the same partner.
Languages. Through our language partners we create content in English, Hindi, Tamil and more, plus French, Spanish or Japanese for buyers abroad. Our job is to impress your customers, not you. If your buyers read Malayalam, tell us at the start. We confirm whether a partner can take it on before we plan around it.
Choosing an agency for Kochi. Meet more than one, us included. Ask who will handle your account each week, and for a sample monthly report with the client's name hidden.
Kochi alone or more of Kerala. Thrissur, Kozhikode or Thiruvananthapuram add ad areas and paper editions.
Print and radio. Each daily, FM station and Akashvani prices its own space.
Events and outdoor. Venue and travel for a stall or launch, and permitted sites only.
Timing. Paper and radio slots before Onam go early, and so do December dates.

Sharif Rezwan KabirBrand Manager at PRAN RFL GroupOur servicing team is based in cities across India, and most of the work runs online in hybrid mode. We stay in touch every day by phone, video and shared reports. Once every three months at least, we meet you in Kochi. For some clients, one of our team works from their office or plant.
We won't claim that title. Judge agencies on what you can check. Have they worked in your industry? Can they show results in numbers? Who will run your account? Ask every agency, including us. Our free plan, a 30-minute call and a one-page plan, lets you compare us first.
Yes, with the same servicing team and a media plan for each town. Akashvani has stations at Kozhikode, Thrissur and Thiruvananthapuram. Some big Malayalam papers are based outside Kochi. Deepika is in Kottayam, Kerala Kaumudi in Thiruvananthapuram and Madhyamam in Kozhikode. For the capital, see our Thiruvananthapuram page.
It depends on who buys from you. Families and shoppers usually respond to Malayalam. Exporters, IT firms and company buyers often work in English, which the district site notes is common in business. Need Malayalam? Raise it on the first call; we check a language partner before planning it.
Onam comes every year in August or September, and Vishu in mid-April. For Onam, start about three months ahead, while paper and radio slots are open. The Cochin Carnival runs from 23 December 2026 to 1 January 2027, and again every year. Search and social ads for it can go live within days.
Yes, with permission. The Kerala High Court, which sits in Ernakulam, has ordered a ₹5,000 fine per illegal board, in October 2023 and March 2025. In August 2026 it found almost none of those fines collected. Kerala also restricts PVC flex boards, so check the current order before printing. This is general guidance, not legal advice.
