WhatsApp marketing for brands that talk to customers and dealers every day. A WhatsApp message works only when people asked for it. Broadcasts and chat flows people actually want to receive.
In India, WhatsApp is where people already talk to their dealer and their grocer. PromotEdge sets up WhatsApp so your customers and dealers can ask questions and get quotes and order updates.
Your team answers from one place. We only message people who agreed to hear from you.
What does it cost? Meta charges for each delivered template message. India rate card, read 9 October 2026: marketing ₹0.8631, utility (order or delivery update) ₹0.1150, before GST and provider fees. Replies inside the customer service window are not charged.
Is it legal? Message only people who agreed to hear from you (opt-in), and keep a record. Messaging others risks complaints and a lower quality rating (Meta's score for how people respond), which can cut your sending limits or get your number banned. This is not legal advice.

4pillars under one roof: strategy, advertising, digital, on-ground activation (BTL)
6cities: head office in Kolkata, teams in Mumbai, Delhi, Bangalore, Guwahati and Bhubaneswar
We work for corporate groups, listed companies and startups. It suits businesses where people ask first or need updates after: property, admissions, clinics and labs, D2C (direct-to-customer) orders and dealer networks. It works alongside email marketing. If one shop replies by hand, the free Business app is enough, and we will say so.
01
Platform set-up
Meta business verification, a WhatsApp Business Account, display name (the name people see) and profile, on Meta's Cloud API or a Business Solution Provider (an approved company selling WhatsApp access). The free app's broadcast lists reach only people who saved your number.
02
Opt-in capture
Consent on forms, at checkout, through ads and on in-store QR codes, with dated records. A list nobody agreed to join is not rescued: we start with a smaller, cleaner opt-in list.
03
Templates and broadcasts
Templates (pre-approved message formats) written to pass Meta's review, and broadcasts to segments with frequency caps, within your messaging limits. Clinics keep test results out; lenders follow their regulator; schools message parents and students separately.
Unofficial tools break WhatsApp's rules. We move you to the Business Platform, where opt-in comes first.
“Our broadcasts get blocked, and nobody replies.”
Usually messages go to everyone, too often. We segment the list, cap frequency and write templates people open.
“Leads come in on WhatsApp, and many are never followed up.”
We connect WhatsApp to your CRM (customer relationship management: where every enquiry is kept and followed up). Each chat gets an owner, and unanswered chats are flagged.
“Our SMS messages suddenly stopped being delivered.”
Often a template, sender ID or link isn't registered on DLT. We find the gap.
“Our team answers the same few questions all day.”
A chat flow answers common questions, collects details and books visits. AI tools draft answers from your price list, and a person checks sensitive ones.
“Our sales rep left, and the chats left with him.”
We move chats to a company number on the Business Platform, saved against the customer in your CRM. One shared inbox means nothing is lost when a person leaves.
“We can't tell whether WhatsApp brings any sales.”
We track each chat to its source and report leads, bookings and orders, not just messages sent.
“Meta keeps rejecting our templates.”
Common causes: promotional messages filed as utility, vague wording, blank variables. We file templates in the right category.

/ 04 How we work
How we set upWhatsApp and SMS.
Meta's prices and limits, and TRAI's SMS rules, change from time to time. We check the current versions when we plan your budget.
01
Plan the use cases
Which chats belong on WhatsApp, and which on email, SMS or a call.
02
Set up the accounts
Business verification, number, display name, profile, provider or Cloud API, and DLT for SMS.
03
Capture opt-in
Consent added wherever people share their number, online and offline, with records.
04
Write templates and flows
Marketing, utility and authentication templates, and chat flows for common questions.
05
Connect the CRM
Contacts and chats synced with lead status, with routing rules for who replies.
06
Launch small, then scale
Start with small segments, watch replies, blocks and opt-outs, then grow.
07
Guard the quality rating
What can't be measured can't be achieved. We check quality rating, blocks and opt-outs weekly, and slow or rewrite sending if they slip.
Tell us what’s not working. We’ll send you an honest one-page growth plan, free.
A D2C brand leads with order updates and back-in-stock alerts. A dealer network routes each enquiry to the right dealer. A property or admissions team qualifies enquiries and books visits. One shop answering by hand may stay on the free app.
Start with consent, for one use. People who chose to hear from you read and reply, and few block you. Dated opt-in records.
Pick the one chat that matters most. Order updates and enquiry replies earn trust before promotions do. Sanjiv Yadav, who does our WhatsApp marketing and data research, leads the WhatsApp work. One working flow before more are added.
Link every chat to the CRM. A chat with no owner is the lead most often lost. Raju Barui, our backend developer, works on CRM and integrations. Owner, status and source on each chat.
Launch to a small group first. Template reviews and quality ratings punish mistakes at scale. Delivery, replies and opt-outs for that group.
Watch the quality rating weekly. The rating decides how freely you may message. A weekly check and a slow-down rule.
Go deeper: shopping inside a chat
JioMart on WhatsApp
In August 2022 Meta and Jio Platforms launched shopping on WhatsApp with JioMart in India. People could browse the catalogue, add products to a cart and pay without leaving the chat. You may not need that much, but it shows chat is now a place where Indians buy, not only ask.

AI in WhatsApp marketing: today and next
Today: Business AI and its limits
Meta's Business AI, inside the WhatsApp Business app, lets eligible Indian small businesses answer questions 24/7 in all native Indian languages. It also captures leads and books appointments, using the business's own profile and catalogue. The owner can take over a chat or turn it off. Meta's platform terms (section 4.7) bar AI providers whose main product is a general-purpose assistant. You may still use an AI provider as your solution provider.

Meta's 3 June 2026 post says its business agent can book appointments and qualify leads, with the business deciding when a team member steps in. Our view: AI will answer first and a person will take over, with consent and tracking still the base. Want us to sketch a flow? Ask us.

WhatsApp marketing is using WhatsApp to serve customers who agreed to hear from you: offers, answers, booked calls and order alerts. Businesses run it on the Business Platform, often called the API (the link between your number and software). Several people can reply, and chats reach your CRM.
Start with consent and one clear use, such as answering enquiries or order updates. Verify your business with Meta, add opt-in to forms and checkout, write approved templates, connect your CRM and launch to a small group. We use Meta's Cloud API directly or a Business Solution Provider, depending on how much you send.
Partly. The WhatsApp Business app is free and suits a small business replying by hand. Its broadcast lists reach only people who saved your number. The Business Platform suits volume and automation. Meta charges for template messages, and providers add fees.
Meta's India rate card, read on 9 October 2026: a marketing message is ₹0.8631 and a utility message ₹0.1150, before GST. So 10,000 marketing messages cost ₹8,631 before GST and provider fees. Send them through the Business Platform with approved templates to opted-in people; unofficial bulk tools get numbers banned.
Yes, when it is based on consent. Meta's policy requires opt-in before you message people. India's data protection law, the DPDP Act, 2023, also requires clear consent and an easy way to withdraw it. Keep records of where and when each person opted in. Check specifics with your counsel.
Yes. We work remotely, with a servicing team in cities across India, in touch daily. We meet you at least once every three months and place a team member at your office or shop when needed. The rest runs online, in your company's accounts.
You get monthly numbers: enquiries, bookings and orders traced to each chat, ad or broadcast, then delivery, replies, blocks, opt-outs and quality rating. For click-to-WhatsApp ads we show cost per qualified lead. We also ask sales which chats became customers.
TRAI requires it under its 2018 rules on commercial communication. Every business that sends SMS registers as a principal entity on a telecom operator's DLT platform, then registers sender IDs (headers) and templates. Since late 2024, links and call-back numbers must also be whitelisted. Anything unregistered is blocked.
