/ 01 Product photography

Your product, shown the way buyers judge it.

On a marketplace the photo is the product until the parcel arrives, so a weak one costs you clicks first and returns later. PromotEdge is a marketing company that plans and shoots product, food, corporate and factory pictures to platform rules.

If Amazon keeps rejecting your main image, or buyers say the colour looked different, it can be fixed.

The buyer can't touch the product. They judge a small thumbnail in seconds, then zoom in. So we plan each shoot like a campaign, starting with where every picture will run.

The same planning works for food, people and places, and for D2C and ecommerce brands, manufacturers and listed companies. Want us to look at your current pictures? Ask for a free shoot plan.

/ 02 What you get

Every shot planned, every file ready.

01

Shot list

Every image agreed before the shoot: product, angle, background and where it will be used. You send clean samples of each colour and variant.

02

Studio packshots

Clean shots on white or plain backgrounds, lit to show shape and texture in true colour.

03

Marketplace sets

Main image, angles, zoom and scale shots, and infographics, sized to the current rules of Amazon, Flipkart, Myntra, Nykaa and quick-commerce apps. Our team can also run your marketplace listings.

04

Lifestyle and model shoots

The product in real use. Models and signed releases are added where they help, as in fashion photography.

05

Food photography

Dishes styled and shot fresh, for menus and delivery apps as well as packaging and social media, with a stylist and a kitchen cooking to schedule.

06

Corporate and team

Leadership portraits plus team and office pictures for your website and LinkedIn, and for the annual report, with a time slot for each person. See corporate photography.

07

Factory and facility

Plants, machines, processes and people for manufacturers, shot safely. Permissions come first, then safety induction and PPE; drone shots follow India's drone rules. See industrial photography.

08

360 virtual tours

Walk-through 360 pictures of offices and showrooms, and of plants. Google accepts 360 imagery from compatible cameras in Street View Studio; tools such as Matterport build 3D tours. We plan the tour with you. Consultants and partner agencies join where a job needs them.

09

Editing and delivery

Retouching and colour correction, plus background clean-up. Files in every size and format you need, named by SKU.

What we believe

What can't be measured can't be achieved.

/ 03 Common hurdles

What usually gets in the way,and the way through.

“Amazon keeps rejecting our main images.”

Each marketplace has strict main-image rules. We shoot and edit to the current guide for your category, so listings go live without back-and-forth.

“Our product looks cheap in photos, and it isn't.”

Usually it is the lighting, not the product. Glass and metal need special setups, and so do white products, so we plan them before the shoot.

“Customers return orders saying the colour was different.”

We check colour against the real product, with a reference card on set and again in editing, so the picture matches the parcel.

“We have 300 SKUs and no time to shoot them one by one.”

SKUs (stock-keeping units) are each product, size or colour. Big catalogues run like a production line: grouped by type, fixed lighting, files named by SKU.

“Our factory looks small and messy in the brochure.”

We walk the site first, pick the right areas and time of day, arrange safety clearance and add wide shots that show scale.

“Our dishes look flat on Swiggy and Zomato.”

Each restaurant dish is styled and shot fresh, lit to show texture and matched to what the kitchen really serves.

/ 04 How we work

From shot listto final files.

Simple packshots move quickly once the lighting is set. Shoots for food, factories or models take longer.

  1. 01

    Brief

Your products, brand style, platform rules, where the pictures will run and the date they must go live.

  2. 02

    Shot list and samples

Every image agreed in advance. We can't do magic alone: the faster samples and approvals reach us, the sooner your listings go live.

  3. 03

    Recce

For location, food or factory shoots we visit first, to check light, space, safety, permissions and the best time.

  4. 04

    Shoot

Products shot to the list, with a colour reference on set. You review on a monitor and approve as we go.

  5. 05

    Edit and retouch

Selection and retouching, plus colour matching, then a first set for your feedback.

  6. 06

    Deliver

Final files sized for marketplace, website, print and social media. Not sure which shots you need? Talk to us.

More on this

How we deliver it, and why

  1. We plan every picture before the camera comes out. A shot list stops reshoots, and each platform wants different shots. A shot list you sign off.
  2. We shoot to each platform's current rules. Pictures that break the rules get rejected or lose visibility. Main images that pass the first time.
  3. We check colour against the real product. A picture that differs from the parcel invites returns. A reference card on set and again in editing.
  4. We name and size every file by SKU. Your team and the platforms can find the right picture without asking us. Folders by platform and by product.
  5. We do a recce before food, factory or location shoots. Light, power, permissions and safety are cheaper to solve before shoot day. A short site note.
  6. We read the numbers after launch. Pictures are judged by click rate and conversion, and by returns, not by taste. A before-and-after on your listings.

Go deeper: the Indian market, a brand and AI

The market

India had nearly 290 to 300 million online shoppers in 2025. Tier-2 and smaller cities gave about 65% of the new ones. Many of them meet your product only as a picture on a phone.

A brand that started on a screen

Mamaearth launched in 2016 and was largely online-only for its first four years, as Inc42 reported (read October 2026). For a brand like that the product page is the shop, so the pictures do the selling.

360 virtual tours and 360 degree photography

Google's Street View page says to capture 360 imagery with a Street View-compatible camera and upload it through Street View Studio, and that Google does not certify the cameras. Matterport describes immersive 3D tours and floor plans, plus print-quality photos. We help you choose by what the tour is for: a public map listing or a private walk-through.

How your business model changes the plan

D2C (direct to consumer): your own site and the marketplace need different crops, so we shoot both from one session.

Dealer-led B2B (business to business): catalogue and tender pictures matter more than lifestyle shots.

Marketplace and quick commerce: white-background sets sized to each app's guide.

Health and wellness brands selling online: the product page is the shop, so the pictures carry the trust. See healthcare.

A restaurant faces the same 'looks different on arrival' problem as a product brand: see restaurants.

AI in photography: today and next

Adobe Firefly can remove or generate backgrounds, expand an image and upscale it, and Adobe says its models are commercially safe and add Content Credentials. We use such tools to tidy a backdrop or make a banner variant. The main marketplace image stays a real photograph of the real product, because buyers return what does not match. Check each marketplace's image policy before you use any AI-edited picture.

/ 06 Cost

What a product shoot costs.

Packshots are usually priced per product or image, other shoots by the half-day or day. The fixed quote comes from your shot list, before the shoot.

What affects the cost

  • Number of products and variants, and angles per product
  • Type of product: jewellery, glass, metal and white products need more lighting and retouching
  • Studio or location, and travel
  • Models, props, sets and a food stylist
  • Retouching per image, and how fast you need the files

How we quote

  1. You tell us what you sell, where the pictures will run and how many products there are.
  2. We look at a few samples and your current pictures, and visit the plant or kitchen if needed.
  3. We write down the shot list, the shoot days and the files you will receive.
  4. You get a fixed quote, with models and stylists, plus travel, at actuals, before the shoot is booked.

What you get in the quote

  • The shot list: products and variants, with angles
  • Shoot days, studio or location, and retouching
  • File names by SKU and sizes for each marketplace, website, print and social use
  • Usage rights, and whether raw files are handed over

When you compare quotes, check the number of edited images, the retouching level and who may use the pictures.

Straight answers.

  • Packshots are usually priced per image or product. Lifestyle, food or location shoots are priced by the half-day or day, plus models and stylists. A written shot list decides the fixed quote, and travel is billed at actuals, shown before you book.

  • Amazon's main image needs a pure white background (RGB 255, 255, 255), the product filling 85% or more of the frame, no text, logos or watermarks, and 1,000 pixels or more on the longer side for zoom. Flipkart and Myntra set their own sizes and backgrounds, as do quick-commerce apps, so we check each current guide.

  • It depends on volume and difficulty. Simple packshots move quickly once the lighting is set; reflective products, food or models take longer. We confirm the timeline in the quote. Before the shoot, send clean samples of every colour and variant, a SKU list and your brand guidelines.

  • Yes, with planning. We need a site visit, your safety rules, safety gear for the crew and a schedule that fits production. Drone shots need your consent and must follow India's drone rules; zones near airports need permission on the Digital Sky platform.

  • Agree it in writing before the shoot. Most brands want the right to use the images in all their own marketing, with no time limit. If models appear, you also need signed releases covering the same uses. We write the usage terms into the quote.

  • Yes. Dishes are cooked and shot fresh, and styled to read well as a small picture on a phone. They stay true to what the kitchen sends out, so customers aren't let down when the order arrives. Send us your menu and we will plan the dishes by platform.

  • Yes. Our servicing team is based in cities across India, and we visit you regularly. Packshots suit a studio, while food, factory or lifestyle shoots happen where the product lives. Our in-house team of 65+ people does the work, with consultants and partner agencies where needed.

  • Note a few numbers before the shoot and check them a few weeks after launch: click rate and conversion, plus 'looked different' returns on a marketplace, or enquiries and cost per lead on ads. If they don't move, the pictures weren't the problem, and we'll say so.
