/ 01 Digital marketing for building materials

Your website is not the shop. The dealer's counter is.

Almost nobody buys building materials on a website, so the sale is won or lost at the dealer's counter. PromotEdge helps building materials brands send more ready-to-order buyers to their dealers.

We aim the work at the architects, contractors, masons and dealers who choose your products. Every month we count the enquiries each dealer receives.

Almost nobody buys cement, pipes or panels on your website. They look you up, then buy from a dealer. So every page and ad should end in a dealer, a sample request or a file the architect needs.

We start with logic and your numbers, not with ideas we happen to like. The score is the enquiries each dealer received, and whether sales rose where we were active.

Dealer listings on Google Maps belong to your dealers, so we help them fix their own. For who decides and the rules on claims, see our building materials marketing page.

/ 04 What usually gets in the way

What gets in the wayand the way through.

“Our website gets enquiries, but dealers say none reached them.”

Route each enquiry to the nearest dealer within minutes, by WhatsApp. Our lead routing then tracks whether anyone called back.

“An architect asked for drawings, and we sent a heavy brochure.”

Give each product a page of its own with the spec sheet and test reports, and put the CAD and BIM files one click away.

“We spend on ads in states where our dealers have no stock.”

Set Google and Meta ads by district, and pause them where dealers are thin or out of stock. You stop sending buyers to an empty shelf.

“Our dealer keeps several brands and pushes the one with the best margin.”

Build pull, since you can't change a dealer's margin. When an architect names your product and a mason asks for it, the dealer stocks it.

“Our dealer list is old. A buyer drove to a shut shop.”

Keep one dealer record in a CRM (customer relationship management: one place for contacts), so a fix made once shows everywhere. AI tools spot a missing phone number.

Do your dealers say the leads never reach them? Tell us the state, and we'll show you where the break is. Tell us the state

/ 05 How we work

From search to the dealer's counter, step by step.

  1. 01

    1. Map searches, then clean the dealer list

We study what people type for each product, then check each priority dealer's address, phone and WhatsApp number, and build a dealer locator with a page for each town.

  2. 02

    2. Fix your dealers' Google listings

With each dealer's permission, we correct their Google Business Profile and help write replies to reviews. Counter branding and ACP (aluminium composite panel) sign boards for dealer shops are delivered through PEXORA, a joint venture of PromotEdge and Prodigy.

  3. 03

    3. Build the spec library for architects

One page per product holds the spec sheet, test reports and install guide, with CAD (computer-aided design) drawings and BIM (building information modelling) 3D files beside them. LinkedIn and a short email tell architects about new products.

  4. 04

    4. Make how-to video, and route every enquiry

Short videos for YouTube and WhatsApp, made in the languages of your key states. Every enquiry is tagged and sent to the right dealer, and our lead generation set-up checks how fast they reply.

  5. 05

    5. Run ads by territory, and report every month

Google search ads catch people already looking. Meta ads reach homeowners before the repaint season. Our tracking feeds one monthly report of enquiries and reply speed for each dealer.

Tell us what’s not working. We’ll send you an honest one-page growth plan, free.

Show a BIS mark only on products you are licensed for. Dealer listings and WhatsApp lists need the dealer's yes.

Digital marketing for building materials in depth

The rule that matters

Spec pages often show certification marks. The Bureau of Indian Standards (BIS) says a licence under Section 13 of the BIS Act, 2016 lets the holder use a specified Standard Mark. A licence is compulsory for products on its compulsory list. Our advice: show a mark only for the products you are licensed for.

How buyers decide

Our view: an architect checks the spec sheet and test report first. A contractor asks which dealer has stock. A homeowner asks the contractor or the shop. Each drops out at a page with no data, a dead dealer number or a form that goes nowhere.

What you can do, and what is not ours

You can keep spec sheets and test reports current, ask dealers to confirm their details, and answer each routed enquiry the same day. A dealer's margin, stock and counter service are not ours to change, and Google decides where listings show.

How we would deliver, and why each step

We clean the dealer list first, because a locator is only as good as its phone numbers. We build spec pages next, because architects decide before the counter does. We route every enquiry by territory, because a slow reply loses the sale. We report by dealer, because your sales head counts that.

Bodies to know

BIS: the Bureau of Indian Standards grants licences under the BIS Act, 2016 to use its Standard Mark.

BMTPC: the Building Materials and Technology Promotion Council has worked since 1990 on cost-effective, energy-efficient building materials.

/ 06 Cost

What affects the cost of digital marketing for building materials.

We don't publish a price list. We quote against a written scope. Ad spend and other third-party costs are billed at actuals.

What affects the cost

  • States, districts and dealers in the locator
  • Products that need spec pages, CAD or BIM files
  • Languages, videos and shoot sites
  • Ad budget, channels and lead routing

How we quote

  1. A free 30-minute strategist call about your dealers and products
  2. We check your site, dealer list and WhatsApp set-up, then send a one-page plan
  3. A written quote follows within 2 working days. You approve it before work starts

What you get in the quote

  • The locator, spec pages and CAD or BIM files
  • How leads reach dealers, and who follows up
  • The monthly dealer report

How it is billed

Way of workingWhen it fits
Set-up projectLocator, spec library and lead routing. Timeline confirmed in the quote
Monthly retainerSearch, video, WhatsApp, ads and the report. Minimum 3 months, 30 days' notice to stop

We can't do magic alone. The more involved you are, the faster you see results, starting with dealers who reply the same day.

/ 07 What happens next

What happensafter you ask.

For projects we think we can help, this is how it goes.

  1. 01

    A strategist calls you

In one working day: a 30-minute call with one of our strategists about your business and what is not working.

  2. 02

    You get a 1-page plan

A short, honest plan: what to fix first and what we would do. It is free.

  3. 03

A quote, if you want one

If you want to go ahead, we send a quote within 2 working days.

We confirm the timeline in the quote. Contracts start at 3 months, with 30 days' notice to stop.

Building materials brand selling through dealers?

Straight answers.

  • The sale happens offline. Buyers check you online, then order from a dealer or through a contractor. So the work is built to send people to a dealer, a sample or a drawing. It is judged on the enquiries each dealer receives.

  • Yes, but the listings belong to your dealers. Google's guidelines say a shop selling other brands lists under its own name. Your brand can't have a profile at that address unless the shop is an authorised, fully dedicated seller of your brand. So we help dealers improve their own listings. General guidance, not legal advice.

  • Yes. Bricks and AAC (aerated concrete) blocks are bought locally, so local search and dealer listings do most of the work. Cladding and ACP panels are chosen by architects and fabricators, so spec pages, drawings and LinkedIn matter more. The method stays the same. The budget split changes.

  • We don't publish a price list. The cost depends on the states, districts and dealers you cover, the products that need spec pages, the languages, the videos and the ad budget. A written quote follows within 2 working days of the first call.

  • Yes, with permission. WhatsApp's business policy allows messages only to people who shared their number and opted in, and every opt-out must be respected. The DPDP (Digital Personal Data Protection) Rules, 2025, phased in over 18 months, expect a separate, clear notice of why you collect a number. General guidance, not legal advice.
