Ideas that sell,in every format you buy.

A campaign works when the film, the newspaper ad and the dealer poster all say the same thing. PromotEdge, a marketing company from Kolkata, builds that one idea, then writes and designs every piece it needs.

The aim is enquiries and sales, not praise.

Here is what we usually see. A brand pays for a lovely film, then the press ad and the dealer poster look like they belong to someone else.

So we start from the business, not a blank page. What has to change, for which buyer, in which markets? The idea comes out of those answers.

Have a launch coming? Tell us the date and we will look at it with you.

/ 02 Deliverables

From the first ideato the last adaptation.

01

Brief and insight

A one-page brief agreed before any creative work, backed by talks with your sales team, dealers and a few customers.

02

Campaign routes

Two or three routes, each shown as a film script, a press ad and a hoarding. See how we split one idea in integrated campaign planning.

03

Key visual

The master artwork: photography or illustration, type, layout and the line. Every other format is built from it.

04

Scripts

TV, online, radio and pre-roll scripts, written to the lengths your plan buys, from 30 seconds down to 6.

05

Press, outdoor and signage

Launch-day full pages, then strips; hoardings with few words. Outdoor, signage and events are delivered within the PromotEdge group.

06

Radio, digital and dealer pieces

Local-language radio spots, reels, carousels, landing pages, standees and dealer boards, each rewritten for how it is seen.

07

Language versions

Transcreated, not translated: English, Hindi, Bengali, Gujarati, Marathi, Tamil, Telugu, Kannada and more, through our language partners.

08

Toolkit and release plan

Guidelines and templates in one asset library, one release calendar, and the numbers we will judge the campaign on.

/ 03 What usually gets in the way

Where campaigns stall, and the way through.

“Our ads look good, but nobody remembers whose they were.”

The brand name and one repeated line go into the idea, with fixed colours, so recall does not hang on the last three seconds.

“Every agency brings a new idea each season.”

We look for one platform thought that can run for years and still give fresh films and offers every season.

“The media plan changed after approval and nothing fitted.”

We write for the media plan. If it buys 10-second spots and quarter-page ads, the idea is proved in those sizes first.

“Our dealers make their own posters because head office is slow.”

A campaign toolkit solves it: ready templates and approved lines in one library, so dealers stay on brand.

“The regional version reads like a translation.”

We transcreate: the line, its references and the humour are rewritten for each language, then checked by a native speaker.

“We cannot tell whether the campaign sold anything.”

We agree measures before release: branded search, calls, WhatsApp enquiries, offer codes and dealer orders, in markets with and without the campaign.

“We know you for digital. Can you really do TV, print and outdoor?”

Yes, for the idea and the plan. We write the films, press ads, hoardings and radio spots. Media is bought through our media partners.

“The ads brought calls, but half the enquiries went cold on WhatsApp.”

A good campaign can still leak at the counter. We help set up a CRM (one place that keeps and follows up every enquiry), so you see which ad brought which enquiry.

/ 05 How we work

Brief to releasein five stages.

We believe in process: good results should repeat, not happen by luck. We plan backwards from your launch date. A launch on photography and illustration can reach first release in a few weeks; a film shoot takes longer.

  1. 01

    Brief

Business need, buyer, markets, budget and the media the idea must work in. A good brief fits on one page.

  2. 02

    Insight

Sales, dealers and customers tell us what the category has missed, and we read what competitors say.

  3. 03

    Routes

You see two or three routes, each as a script, a press ad and a hoarding. We recommend one and say why.

  4. 04

    Craft and check

The chosen route is written and designed for every format and language, shot if it needs a film shoot, with claims and legal lines checked.

  5. 05

    Release and learn

One calendar for media buyers and dealers. Then we read branded search, enquiries and sales against the plan, and adjust.

More on this

How we deliver it, and why

  1. One-page brief. If goal, buyer, markets and media do not fit on a page, the campaign is not clear yet. A short brief also stops the idea drifting in approvals. A signed brief in week 1.
  2. Talk to sales and dealers. They hear the doubts buyers never write in a survey. An idea that answers a real doubt works harder than a clever one. A page of buyer truths.
  3. Show each route in three formats. An idea that only works as a film is an execution, not a campaign. A script, a press ad and a hoarding show how far it travels. Routes side by side.
  4. Agree the numbers before release. What cannot be measured cannot be achieved. Branded search and offer codes let us compare markets with and without the campaign. Monthly numbers against plan.

Go deeper: the Indian market, the brands and AI

Where Indian ad money goes

India's advertising grew about 13% to ₹1.5 trillion in 2025, and digital took ₹947 billion, about 63%. Out-of-home grew 13% and print about 2%. One idea now works on a phone first and a wall second.

A brand that kept one idea

Amul said in August 2025 that Sylvester daCunha and illustrator Eustace Fernandes created the Amul girl in 1966, to answer Polson Butter's "butter girl".

PrintWeek reported in June 2012 that she began on a Mumbai hoarding and by then ran on 132 billboards on 90 sites in 69 cities.

Who sets the rules and who shaped the field in India

ASCI, set up in 1985, runs the self-regulation code that asks ads to be lawful, decent, honest and truthful. AAAI, formed in 1945, is the national body of advertising agencies.

How your business model changes the plan

A D2C brand (selling direct online) needs the idea to work on a phone first. A dealer-led maker needs the toolkit most. A franchise needs fixed templates with room for a local line, and a quick commerce seller needs pack images that match the campaign. Clinics and diagnostic centres need calm, plain lines that read the same at every branch.

AI in creative work: today and next

Canva's Magic Studio (launched 2023) and Adobe Firefly draft layouts, resize one key visual into many sizes and mock up routes fast. Adobe described its Firefly video model in February 2025 as trained on licensed content.

We use them to test more routes early. A distinct idea and clean rights for cast and music still need people. Next: faster adaptation across sizes and languages.

/ 07 Cost

What affects the costof a campaign.

Creative, production and media are quoted on separate lines, so you see each part. Production costs are shown at actuals before you approve them.

What affects the cost

  • How many formats and sizes the media plan needs
  • How many languages and markets
  • A film shoot, or photography and illustration
  • One launch, or a platform that runs for a year or more
  • Research or testing with buyers before release

How we quote

  1. We start with the business goal, your sales by market and what past campaigns achieved
  2. We agree which formats and languages the idea must cover
  3. You get a written list with creative, production and media on separate lines
  4. Production costs are shown at actuals before you approve them

What you get in the quote

  • The creative route, with the rounds of changes
  • Adaptations for each format, size and language
  • Production for shoots, photography, music and voice-overs
  • Rights for cast, music and images, and for how long
  • Claims and legal checks, and a reporting plan

To compare two agencies fairly, ask each for the same split: creative, production, media. For public media rates, read our cost guides. Want a second opinion on a quote you already hold? Send it to us.

Straight answers.

  • A creative agency decides what your ads say and how they look and sound, then makes the films, press ads, hoardings and posts. A digital creative agency works mainly for screens. We do both from one idea, and plan it with our media buying team so the idea fits where it runs.

  • It depends on the work. One launch in two languages costs far less than a year-long platform in six. Creative, production and media are quoted separately, against a written list of work. There is no fixed minimum: a single launch can be a project, and a year-long idea usually moves to a monthly retainer.

  • Allow time for the brief, the insight work and the routes before production starts. A press and outdoor campaign on photography is quicker than one needing a film shoot. We plan backwards from your launch date and confirm the timeline in the quote.

  • Yes. We transcreate rather than translate, rewriting the line and its references, humour included, with a native speaker checking each version. Through our language partners we create content in English, Hindi, Bengali, Gujarati, Marathi, Tamil, Telugu, Kannada and more. Each version is checked against the original idea before it goes to media.

  • Yes. We hand scripts, key visuals and a campaign toolkit to any media buyer or production partner, and stay involved to protect the idea through production and adaptation. The handover is written, so nothing lives only in our heads, and your media agency can brief new people from it.

  • We agree the measures before release: branded search, direct and WhatsApp enquiries, campaign codes, and footfall or dealer orders in campaign markets against the rest. You get these numbers every month, with the cost of each serious enquiry, and we say plainly which parts of the result we cannot trace.

  • Only if the fit is genuine and the budget carries both the fee and the media weight to pay back. A famous face nobody sees is wasted. Indian rules expect endorsers to check their claims, so contracts, usage rights and claims need care.

  • Yes. Our servicing team is based in cities across India, works hybrid and visits regularly. Each market gets its own language, and we plan the whole media mix around where you sell. Media is bought through our media partners, and you see every rate before you approve it.
