“Buyers keep spelling our name wrong when they search for us.”
A name spelled as it sounds sends people straight to you.

The name is the part of your brand that buyers say out loud. So test it before you print a single card.
A strategist calls you in one working day.
A name that sounds good in the boardroom can fail on the phone. PromotEdge finds names for new companies, products and ranges, so buyers remember you and ask for you by name.
The name you love may be hard to say in Tamil, odd in Bengali, or already taken online.
A founder, a family business launching a premium range, a group opening a division: the name is where being wanted begins. We settle it before anyone draws a logo. The brand identity is then built on it.
Not sure what the brand should stand for? Start with brand strategy, or see our branding page.
The test is the phone. Can people say it in your buyers' languages? Does it mean nothing bad in a regional language? Is it spelled as it sounds? Are the domain and handles free?
| What you get | What it tells you | Who uses it |
|---|---|---|
| A naming brief | What the name must say, who says it, in which languages. You sign it first | You and us |
| A rival name map | Competitors' names on one page | Your leadership team |
| A shortlist with reasons | Each name, why it fits and what could go wrong. The number is set in the scope | You |
| Say-it-aloud and meaning notes | How each name did on calls, and what it means in your buyers' languages | You |
| Domain and handle check | Whether the .com, the .in and the main handles are free | You and your web team |
| Buyer test and lawyer's file | What real buyers said about the last names, and the final names ready for a trademark search | You and your lawyer |
Once the name is chosen, logo design and brand identity design carry it forward.
Our beliefWe'd rather show you results than a nice presentation.
“Buyers keep spelling our name wrong when they search for us.”
A name spelled as it sounds sends people straight to you.
“We picked a name we love, but the .com and the Instagram handle are gone.”
We check domains and handles before you fall for a name.
“Our southern dealers say our name differently from our sales team.”
We test every name aloud with people who speak your buyers' languages.
“Someone told us our name means something odd in another language.”
Better to hear it now than after the boards go up. Every name gets a meaning check.

Desi Machines is a PromotEdge group company, a marketplace for construction equipment. We studied how contractors buy machines. Then we built a name with a desi touch and the tagline "Suno Sabki, Chuno Apni" (listen to everyone, choose your own). It is our own company, so we share no figures.
Tell us what’s not working. We’ll send you an honest one-page growth plan, free.
We start with your business and your numbers, not names we happen to like. Dropping a name on day ten costs almost nothing.
We talk to the owner and your sales team: what buyers call you now, and which languages they speak.
We write many names and cut hard. Anything hard to say or easy to misspell goes first.
We say each name on a call. The listener spells it back, then repeats it next day.
Each survivor is checked in your buyers' languages. Your lawyer gets a file. The legal call is theirs.
Real buyers hear the last two or three. We say which we would pick, and why. You decide.

A D2C (direct-to-customer) brand needs a name that is easy to type and a handle that is free. A dealer-led B2B (business-to-business) firm needs a name that travels well on the phone. An exporter needs one that is neutral in other languages. A franchise needs a name that holds across cities.
IP India's website lists two public search tools for existing trademarks, one labelled "Trademark Search (AI/ML)". Its page does not say what a search covers. Google's help page says the Gemini web app works in more than 70 languages, including Bengali, Hindi and Odia, which helps with long lists.

A tool does not know how your dealer in Madurai says the name. Every shortlist still gets the phone test and a lawyer's search.
Our view: long lists will get cheaper to make, so the testing becomes the work. Want us to test your shortlist? Ask us.

No price list. These things move the number.
We don't publish a price list. We quote after a first conversation, against a written scope, within 2 working days. Your lawyer's trademark search and filing, and the domains you buy, are paid for separately.
Comparing quotes? Ask everyone, us too: are names tested aloud, in your buyers' languages?
For projects we think we can help, this is how it goes.
In one working day: a 30-minute call with one of our strategists about your business and what is not working.
A short, honest plan: what to fix first and what we would do. It is free.
If you want to go ahead, we send a quote within 2 working days.
We confirm the timeline in the quote. Contracts start at 3 months, with 30 days' notice to stop.

Anish Basu MallikMarketing Executive at Unimark GroupOne that buyers can say easily in their own language, spell after hearing it once, and remember the next day. It should mean nothing bad in regional languages. Its domain and handles should be free, and it should not sit close to a rival's name.
Use one for ideas. It doesn't know your buyers, can't hear how a name sounds on a call from Madurai, and doesn't check meanings in Indian languages. Treat its list as a start, then run the same tests on it.
We check what we can see, and hand your lawyer a file for a proper search. IP India puts free public search tools on its website for a first look. Reading results and filing are for your trademark lawyer. This is general guidance, not legal advice.
It depends on what you are naming, the languages and the testing. We don't publish a price list. We quote after a first conversation, against a written scope that also sets the dates. We confirm the timeline in the quote, which we send within 2 working days.
Ask to see names they have built, with the company named. Ask how they test names: aloud, in your buyers' languages, with real buyers. Ask how the name ties to your positioning. Our own example is Desi Machines, a PromotEdge group company.
Yes. Our servicing team is based in cities across India, and our in-house team of 65+ people does the work. Name reviews run on video calls, and we visit regularly. Through our language partners we check names in Hindi, Bengali, Tamil and more.
Set the signs before launch. Do buyers spell it right when they search? Do dealers say it the same way? Over three months, do searches for the name go up? If we run your SEO (search engine optimisation), you see these monthly.
