Product pages for traders
One page per saree weave or craft, named as buyers search for it, with close photos and a WhatsApp button. English pages too, for buyers abroad.
Locations · Varanasi · SEO
A guest house near the river, a saree weaver with buyers far away and a school near the campus are found by different searches. PromotEdge works on each, and every month you see which enquiries Google sent.
A strategist calls you in one working day.
An SEO company in Varanasi earns its keep with a page for each thing a buyer types, in Hindi or in English, not one page for everything. PromotEdge writes those pages and keeps your Google Maps pin and details correct.
We count the calls and forms Google sends you, for stays, silk and handloom traders, craft sellers, schools and shops.
SEO (search engine optimisation) lifts your pages in Google's free results. Nobody pays Google for those clicks, so a page that ranks keeps bringing buyers long after it is written.
Four kinds of buyer use the same search box here. A guest from abroad plans a stay near the river. A buyer in another city looks for a saree or a craft by its name. A trader's customer in another country looks for a supplier. A family in the city looks for a school or a shop. Good SEO services in Varanasi plan a page for each of them. Our SEO services page explains the method anywhere in India.
We open your main pages on an everyday Android phone over mobile data, as a guest on the road would. You get a fix list, costliest problem first.
02One page per room type or tour, with the distance to the nearest ghat or crossing, photos and a clear way to ask about dates.
One page per saree weave or craft, named as buyers search for it, with close photos and a WhatsApp button. English pages too, for buyers abroad.
A page per class or course, with dates, fees, a map pin and an enquiry form that reaches a person the same day.
05Key pages in the language each buyer types, written by our language partners, not a tool.
06The right pin, category, hours and photos, for stays, shops and clinics. The listing names a place people know, such as Godowlia, Assi or Lanka.
07Calls, forms, WhatsApp chats and booking requests that came from Google, counted each month. Buyers from abroad get their own line.
Our job is to impress your customers, not you.
Each one changes which page we write first. Two are below, and three more are in the fold after them.
1. Far-off buyers search by the name of the craft. The district lists six Varanasi crafts with a GI (Geographical Indication) tag, a legal tag tying a product to its place. Banaras Brocades and Sarees were tagged on 4 September 2009. A weaver's page named for the product, with close photos, answers that search. Our fashion and apparel page shows how.
2. Hindi comes first, then Urdu and Bhojpuri. Wikipedia, quoting Census 2011 for the city alone, gives Hindi as the first language of 83.87% of people, Urdu 9.03% and Bhojpuri 4.81%. So key pages need a real Hindi version, not a tool's guess.
Three more facts: guests from abroad, the state's internet use, and buyers who search in English.
3. Guests land from abroad. The Airports Authority of India (AAI) counted 43,43,347 passengers at Varanasi in 2025-26 (April to March), up 7.8%. Of these, 1,42,578 flew international routes, up 17.3%. A guest from abroad reads English before anything else. A stay's English page should give the road from the airport and a phone number that works from abroad. Our travel and tourism page shows what we check first.
4. Uttar Pradesh is online, with room to grow. TRAI, the telecom regulator, counted 62.82 internet subscribers for every 100 people in Uttar Pradesh in March 2026. The figure for India was 76.59. That is a state figure, not Varanasi alone. New users arrive on phones, often searching in Hindi, so pages must open fast and speak their language.
5. Trade buyers abroad search in English. Invest UP lists the Eastern U.P. Exporters Association as Varanasi's exporters' body. The Indo-American Chamber of Commerce has a Varanasi chapter, inaugurated on 9 February 1990. A buyer abroad searches for a weave, a size or a product before writing to anyone. Exporters need one clear English page per product line.
Varanasi sells old crafts to far-off buyers and hosts guests from abroad, and its searches are Hindi first. Name each product as buyers type it, and name the nearest ghat or crossing on your Maps listing and contact page.
| What we checked | The public record | How it shapes your SEO |
|---|---|---|
| People online | Uttar Pradesh, March 2026: 152.67 million internet subscribers, 62.82 per 100 people. India: 76.59 (TRAI). A state figure, not Varanasi alone. | Light pages for mobile data, with the call button in easy reach. |
| Languages | Wikipedia, quoting Census 2011 for the city only: Hindi 83.87%, Urdu 9.03%, Bhojpuri 4.81%, Bengali 0.92%. | Hindi for most key pages, Urdu where your buyers use it. For Bhojpuri, tell us early and we check whether a partner can write it. |
| Crafts with a GI tag | Banaras Brocades and Sarees (4 September 2009), Gulabi Meenakari (23 March 2015), Metal Repousse (31 May 2016), Glass Beads (10 November 2016), Soft Stone Jali Work (28 March 2018). Wooden Lacquerware and Toys is also listed, with no clear date on the page. | Name each product page as buyers search for it. Use a GI tag only if you are entitled to it. |
| One District One Product | The ODOP portal lists three products for Varanasi: silk products, wooden toys, and Gulabi Meenakari. | Silk, toy and enamel sellers each get their own product pages, not one shop page for everything. |
| Airport | 43,43,347 passengers in 2025-26, up 7.8%. Of these, 1,42,578 were international, up 17.3% (AAI). | English pages for guests from abroad: check-in time, a taxi from the airport, a number that works from abroad. |
| Ghats and Sarnath | The district lists 88 ghats. Sarnath is about 10 km north-east of the city. | State the distance to the nearest ghat or to Sarnath, in kilometres and in minutes by auto. |
| Place names in listings | The corporation's 2025 bye-laws name busy stretches such as the Sigra, Lahurabir and Godowlia crossings, Sonarpura, Assi to the BHU Lanka gate, Durgakund and Bhelupur. The names are English spellings of the gazette's Hindi. | Use the name people say for your lane. Check the spelling against the board outside. |
| The campus | Banaras Hindu University was founded in 1916. Its own site lists 5 institutes, 16 faculties and 135 departments. | Shops, stays and tutors near it can rank for the courses and departments students and parents search. |
| Trade bodies | The Indo-American Chamber of Commerce has a Varanasi chapter, inaugurated on 9 February 1990. Invest UP lists the Eastern U.P. Exporters Association as Varanasi's exporters' body. | A listing on a trade body's page is a link Google trusts. Ask for one before you pay anyone for links. |
| Season dates | Wikipedia says Dev Deepawali falls on Kartik Purnima, in November or December. The district's culture page names Ramlila among the city's folk drama. We did not find the 2026 date in an official source. | Check the date for that year, then put season pages live three to six months before it. |
Sources as cited in each row, checked 4 October 2026 (the trade bodies 10 October 2026). Internet figures cover Uttar Pradesh, not Varanasi alone. Wikipedia is named where an official page did not give the fact. Bodies are named as part of the city, not as PromotEdge clients or partners.
The full steps are in the fold below.
A room enquiry, a buyer's question about a saree, a call from a parent? We agree which ones matter, and what each is worth to you.
Search Console is Google's free report on how people reach your site. Read-only access to it and to your Maps listing is enough.
Tell us what’s not working. We’ll send you an honest one-page growth plan, free.
How we work with you, and all five steps from the first call to the monthly count.
A straight word on how we work: our servicing team is based in cities across India, and most of the work runs online, in hybrid mode. We talk every day by call and video, and we meet you in Varanasi at least once every three months. When a job needs it, a team member works from your site. The wider city picture is on our Varanasi overview.
We don't publish a price list. After a first call we write down the scope, then quote for it. Any translation or ad money sits on its own line, shown before you agree.
| Way of working | When it fits |
|---|---|
| Monthly retainer | Fixes, new pages, listings and a report every month; minimum 3 months, 30 days' notice to stop |
| One-time check | A full site check with a fix list your own developer can follow; timeline confirmed in the quote |
| Season project | Guest or festival-season pages with an end date, then a choice to continue; timeline confirmed in the quote |
Two more things that can move your quote, and a tip for comparing quotes.
How many shops, stays or showrooms need a correct Maps listing, and how much your site needs fixing before new pages can rank.
Comparing Varanasi quotes? Ask whether Hindi pages are included, how many listings are covered, and whether the report counts enquiries or only rankings.
For projects we think we can help, this is how it goes.
In one working day: a 30-minute call with one of our strategists about your business and what is not working.
A short, honest plan: what to fix first and what we would do. It is free.
If you want to go ahead, we send a quote within 2 working days.
SEO usually shows results in 3 to 6 months. Contracts start at 3 months, with 30 days' notice to stop.

Sharif Rezwan KabirBrand Manager at PRAN RFL GroupOur servicing team is based in cities across India, and most of the work runs online, in hybrid mode. We talk on video calls and share one report a month. We meet you in Varanasi at least once every three months. When a job needs it, a team member works from your site.
It depends on who you want to reach. Hindi suits most families in the city, and Urdu helps where your buyers use it. Guests from abroad and traders in other countries search in English. Our language partners write all three. For Bhojpuri, tell us early and we check whether a partner can write it.
Start with your Maps listing: name, pin, phone, hours and photos. Then give each room type a page that says how far it is from the nearest ghat or crossing. Add call and WhatsApp buttons that work with one tap.
Yes, if your pages match how buyers search. They type the product, such as a brocade saree, not your firm's name. Build one page per weave, with close photos, sizes and a quote form. Banaras Brocades and Sarees carry a GI tag, so show it only if you are entitled to use it.
SEO usually shows results in 3 to 6 months. Fixes to a slow site can show sooner. Dev Deepawali falls on Kartik Purnima, in November or December, so check that year's date and count back at least three months. If you are late, refresh your Maps listing first.
Ask every firm, us included, three things. Will my report count calls and forms, or only rankings? Who writes my Hindi pages? Will the website and Maps listing stay in my company's name? Pick the firm with plain answers, and ask for them in writing. No firm can promise a rank on Google.
