Get found when people search a legal problem, within the rules that stop advocates from advertising.
A strategist calls you in one working day.
Advocates and chartered accountant (CA) firms may not advertise, so the job is to be found by people already searching, with correct facts and no pitch. PromotEdge does SEO (search engine optimisation, the work that helps Google show your firm when people search) for law and CA practices.
We make your firm's facts correct and easy to find, so that people with a real legal need find you and contact you themselves.
Rule 36 of the Bar Council of India (BCI) Rules says an advocate "shall not solicit work or advertise, either directly or indirectly". A 2008 addition lets a website show only the details in an approved schedule. This is general guidance, not legal advice.
Chartered accountants follow ICAI (the Institute of Chartered Accountants of India). Its revised Code of Ethics applies from 1 April 2026, so check it before you publish. This is general guidance, not legal advice.
That leaves being found: correct facts, then a fast site. See also marketing for law firms, chartered accountants and professional services.

“Our site lists our address and phone. Google never shows it.”
Give each area of practice its own page and add code that tells Google your name and address.
“A rival calls itself the "best lawyer" in town. Should we?”
Show up for the problem people search instead. In our view, calling yourself the best is the riskiest ad of all.
“People search their problem, not our firm's name.”
Answer the problem, such as "how to reply to a legal notice". If your partners agree, we write plain explainers for your lawyers to review.
“Agencies offer us paid ads and ready-made "lawyer leads".”
Say no to both. Rule 36 names touts, so we run no case-pitch ads and never buy or sell leads.
“Our old site has a "cases we won" page. Is that a problem?”
Your partners decide after a line-by-line review. The rule names case photographs and treats extras as a violation. This is general guidance, not legal advice.
“Enquiries land on the desk phone, a partner's WhatsApp and the form.”
Use one shared inbox and a simple CRM (customer relationship management: one record of every enquiry), with an owner for each. AI tools can sort enquiries by area of law.
Does one of these sound like your site? Tell us which, and we'll tell you what we'd check first. Tell us which
A one-page note says what we publish, what we don't and who signs off. It follows Rule 36 for advocates and ICAI's current guidelines for CA firms.
Your name, address, phone and practice areas should match on your site, Google and every directory. Each office gets one Google profile. This is the base of our SEO work.
Our content team drafts a dated explainer for each question people type, and marks it as general information. Your lawyers approve it. Case results and client stories stay out.
Pages load quickly on a phone. Forms ask only name, phone and area of law, because case details wait for a private call. Our website team fixes or rebuilds the site.
Each month you see the calls, forms and WhatsApp messages from search, by area of practice. Our AI search work also checks where Google's AI answers mention your firm.
Tell us what’s not working. We’ll send you an honest one-page growth plan, free.
Advocates may not advertise, so search work means correct facts and honest answers. Your partners decide what goes live.
Rule 36 of the Bar Council of India Rules bars an advocate from soliciting work or advertising, directly or indirectly. A 2008 proviso allows website details in a set schedule. The BCI warned against social media promotion in March 2025. A July 2026 Supreme Court notice on a petition about it is not a ruling. General guidance, not legal advice.

Our view: people with a legal worry ask a friend or a CA they trust, then search the problem on Google, then check the firm's name. They drop out when the site shows no address, an old phone number or no clear area of practice. A person who waits a day for a reply calls the next firm.
You can keep your name, address, phone and practice areas the same everywhere. Your partners decide which explainers to publish, and whether to ask the Bar Council about anything unclear. We cannot decide what the rules allow, and we cannot make Google rank a page. We run no case-pitch ads and never buy leads or reviews.
We write the rules note first, because every later step depends on it. Then we fix your facts everywhere, because mismatched details confuse Google and clients. Next come explainers your lawyers approve, then a fast site with short forms. Each month we report enquiries by area of practice, so we both see what worked.

We don't publish a price list. After a 30-minute strategist call, a written quote follows within 2 working days.
| Way of working | When it fits |
|---|---|
| Set-up project | Timeline confirmed in the quote |
| Monthly retainer | Minimum 3 months, 30 days' notice to stop |
| Set-up, then retainer | Fix the base first |
Ask any agency what it will refuse to publish. We cannot do magic alone: the more your partners join in, the faster you see results.
For projects we think we can help, this is how it goes.
In one working day: a 30-minute call with one of our strategists about your business and what is not working.
A short, honest plan: what to fix first and what we would do. It is free.
If you want to go ahead, we send a quote within 2 working days.
SEO usually shows results in 3 to 6 months. Contracts start at 3 months, with 30 days' notice to stop.

Sharif Rezwan KabirBrand Manager at PRAN RFL GroupYes, within limits. Rule 36 of the Bar Council of India Rules bars advocates from soliciting work or advertising, directly or indirectly. A 2008 addition allows set website details. SEO for a law firm works inside those limits, with correct facts and honest listings. This is general guidance, not legal advice.
The schedule lists your name, address, phone numbers and email, your enrolment number and date, your State Bar Council and Bar Association, your qualifications and your areas of practice. The rule treats anything beyond what the BCI approved as a violation, and Section 35 of the Advocates Act, 1961 covers misconduct. This is general guidance, not legal advice.
SEO results usually come in 3 to 6 months. Fixes to your Google profile and site facts can show sooner, within weeks. Busier searches, such as an area of law plus a big city, take longer. Your lawyers' review time also sets the pace.
No. CA firms follow ICAI's rules, not the Bar Council's. ICAI says Clauses (6) and (7) of the First Schedule to the Chartered Accountants Act, 1949 bar solicitation and advertisement. Its revised Code of Ethics applies from 1 April 2026. Check its current guidelines first. This is general guidance, not legal advice.
