Pages for each craft
Meenakari, glass beads, lacquerware, soft stone work and repousse each get a page that shows how it is made, and one quote form.

A saree buyer in another city and a guest booking a room both judge a Varanasi firm by its website first. PromotEdge builds sites that load fast on a phone, read clearly to a stranger and are judged on the enquiries they bring.
A strategist calls you in one working day.
A website design company in Varanasi earns its fee when a stranger trusts one page enough to write. That stranger may be a saree buyer in another city, a guest booking a room or a parent comparing schools.
PromotEdge designs and builds those sites for weavers, craft sellers, guest houses and schools, with design, Hindi and English copy and code in one team.
Picture one evening. A buyer in Mumbai compares four weavers on a phone, hunting for one weave. A guest in another country checks two guest houses. A parent looks up a school. None of them has met you. Your website decides whether they write or move on.
Looking for website developers in Varanasi? With us, design, copy and code sit together, next to the people who run search and ads. Every site type is on the national website design and development page. Search itself, called SEO (search engine optimisation), is covered on our SEO in Varanasi page.
Where our team sits and how we review each stage.
A plain fact first: our servicing team is based in cities across India, and most of the work runs online, in hybrid mode. We have worked with Indian brands since 2015. You and we review the site on video calls and a private preview link, and we visit you in Varanasi at least once every three months. When a job needs it, a team member works from your site. The wider city picture is on our Varanasi overview.
A page for each weave, with close photos, size, care notes, delivery terms and a WhatsApp button. The payment tool you choose connects to it.
Meenakari, glass beads, lacquerware, soft stone work and repousse each get a page that shows how it is made, and one quote form.
A page for each room type, with photos and the way to reach you. A guest asks about dates on WhatsApp or a form.
04Classes or courses, dates, fees and an enrolment form, with a map pin and a phone number that works with one tap.
05Capacity, certificates, product range and a drawing upload on the enquiry form, in clear English for buyers abroad.
06The pages local families read most, written in Hindi by our language partners, not a tool. English stays for guests and buyers abroad. Urdu too, if you need it.
07A slow site does not always need a rebuild. We shrink heavy photos, cut unused scripts and test again on a phone.
We know digital inside out, and we think like an Indian business.
You probably sell to at least one of these. Three more are in the fold below.
1. Buyers far away must trust a stranger. Wikipedia says silk weaving is the city's dominant industry and tourism the second. Its source is a 2006 city plan, so the line is old. The district lists six Varanasi crafts with a GI (Geographical Indication) tag, a legal tag tying a product to its place. A buyer abroad wants close photos, the weave named and a clear way to ask.
2. Readers differ, so the page must be plain. The district's Census 2011 note, which it calls provisional, shows literacy of 75.60%. It is 83.77% for men and 66.69% for women. Short Hindi lines, big photos and big buttons serve every reader.
Three more kinds of buyer, each with its source: guests, campus families, then purchase teams.
3. Guests choose a stay on a phone. The district lists 88 ghats along the Ganga. A guest house's site should name the nearest ghat and the distance. It should let a guest ask about dates in one tap, with the room, the rate and a photo on the same screen.
4. Campus families compare before they come. Banaras Hindu University was founded in 1916. Its own site lists 5 institutes, 16 faculties and 135 departments. A school or college near it should make the course, the dates and the fee easy to find on a phone. One clear site beats many thin ones.
5. Makers and exporters sell to purchase teams. Banaras Locomotive Works, a production unit of Indian Railways, builds locomotives. Invest UP lists the Eastern U.P. Exporters Association as Varanasi's exporters' body. Buyers check your machines, capacity and certificates before they ask a price. Manufacturers should show all three. Phones come first in every case, and Hindi comes first for local families.
Varanasi sells old crafts to buyers far away and hosts guests from other places. Show each product clearly, keep the words short, and put a call or WhatsApp button where a thumb can reach it.
| Varanasi fact | What the source shows | What it means for your website |
|---|---|---|
| Silk and tourism | Wikipedia says silk weaving is the dominant industry and tourism the second. The source is a 2006 city plan, so the line is old. | Two kinds of visitor: a buyer who wants the product, and a guest who wants the room. Give each a path. |
| Crafts with a GI tag | Banaras Brocades and Sarees (tagged 4 September 2009), Gulabi Meenakari, Metal Repousse, Glass Beads, Soft Stone Jali Work, and Wooden Lacquerware and Toys. | One page per craft. Use a GI tag only if you are entitled to it. |
| A craft museum | The district home page lists the Deendayal Hastkala Sankul as a Trade and Crafts Museum. We have not opened its page. | Ask whether your craft can be listed there. If it is, link to it from your site. |
| Who reads the page | Census 2011, district (first-count figures): literacy 75.60%, men 83.77%, women 66.69%. Rural people 20,79,790, urban 15,97,051. | Short Hindi lines, big photos and buttons that work on weak mobile data, in a shop and in a village. |
| Ghats | The district lists 88 ghats along the Ganga. | A guest house names the nearest ghat and the distance on its room pages. |
| The campus | Banaras Hindu University was founded in 1916. Its own site lists 5 institutes, 16 faculties and 135 departments. | Firms and institutions near it need one clear site, not many thin ones. Courses and fees go on top. |
| Rail engineering | Banaras Locomotive Works, a production unit of Indian Railways, builds locomotives (Wikipedia and its own site). | Firms that sell to a plant like this need a capability page: machines, capacity, certificates. |
| Exporters | Invest UP lists the Eastern U.P. Exporters Association as Varanasi's exporters' body. | An English page per product line, with terms and shipping in plain words. |
Sources as cited in each row, checked 4 October 2026 (rail engineering and exporters 10 October 2026). The district's Census 2011 figures are first-count and provisional. Rows marked Wikipedia are there because no official page gave the fact. Firms and bodies are named as part of the city, not as clients or partners.
Steps 3 to 6 are in the fold below.
On a video call we agree who the site is for, and the one action that counts, such as a quote request, a room enquiry or an enrolment form.
Every page and product group goes on one list, with its languages. Design starts only after you approve it.
Tell us what’s not working. We’ll send you an honest one-page growth plan, free.
Steps 3 to 6: photos and words, the preview link, then launch, then growing from there.
Weaves, crafts and rooms sell on close-up photos. Use our phone-photo guide, or we plan a Varanasi shoot, run by our in-house team with industry consultants and partner agencies where a job needs them. Your staff check the copy for sizes, rates and terms.
Your staff test every form. A quote request or a room enquiry should reach the right inbox or WhatsApp number within a minute.
Your company owns the domain and the hosting, and holds the admin logins. Old page addresses are forwarded.
We often launch the section that earns most first, such as the weave pages or the course pages. After a month we read which pages bring enquiries, then build the rest.
We don't publish a price list. After a first call we write the scope down, then quote against it. Domain, hosting, booking tools and gateway charges are billed at actuals, in your company's name.
| Way of working | When it fits |
|---|---|
| Fixed-scope build | A new site, catalogue or rebuild, paid in agreed stages; usually 4 to 6 weeks, timeline confirmed in the quote |
| Season add-on | A one-page offer site for a festival sale, scoped on its own |
| Monthly upkeep | New stock and rates, plus notices and updates; backups and speed checks included; minimum 3 months, 30 days' notice to stop |
Five things that move the quote, and what to check when quotes differ.
Catalogue size. Fifty weaves with sizes and care notes take more set-up than a five-page company site.
Who must trust it. Buyers in other cities need different pages from guests or parents.
Languages. Hindi and English, or Urdu versions of key pages as well.
Photos. Your own phone photos with our guide, or a planned Varanasi shoot.
Deadline. A site needed before a festival sale leaves less room for changes.
When Varanasi quotes differ a lot, the gap is usually the catalogue size, the photos or the Hindi pages. Ask each firm to list those three, and to put the domain in your name.
For projects we think we can help, this is how it goes.
In one working day: a 30-minute call with one of our strategists about your business and what is not working.
A short, honest plan: what to fix first and what we would do. It is free.
If you want to go ahead, we send a quote within 2 working days.
A typical website takes 4 to 6 weeks. Contracts start at 3 months, with 30 days' notice to stop.

Sharif Rezwan KabirBrand Manager at PRAN RFL GroupOur servicing team is based in cities across India, and most of the work runs online, in hybrid mode. We speak daily. We come to Varanasi every three months or sooner, and when a shoot or launch needs it. A team member can also work from your site. Reviews run on video calls and a private preview link.
One page per weave, with close photos, sizes and care notes. Your smallest order, and your terms and delivery, in plain words. A WhatsApp button for questions, and one quote form that can ask about several items. Show a GI tag only if you are entitled to use it.
Yes. Give each room type a page with photos, the rate and the way to ask about dates, on WhatsApp or a form. A guest then books with you directly, without a travel site's commission. If you want online payment, we connect the tool you choose. Its charges are billed at actuals.
Each class or course, the dates and the fees, and the way to enrol, all easy to find on a phone. Add a map pin and a phone number that works with one tap. One enquiry form should reach the right person the same day. Show results only if you can prove them.
A focused site usually takes 4 to 6 weeks to build. Count back from your sale date, and send photos, rates and descriptions at least six weeks before you need the site live. A large rebuild suits the weeks after the sale better. Tell us your date, and we plan from it.
Ask each firm for a site it built for a business like yours, and an enquiry that site brought. Ask how heavy its home page is on a phone, whose name the domain will be in, and who writes the Hindi. Pick the plainest answers, and ask for them in writing.
