Past your first customers?Make search a sales channel.

Software buyers rarely stop at your category name, and the searches closest to a purchase are about the job they need done or a rival's alternatives. PromotEdge does SEO (search engine optimisation) for B2B (selling to other businesses) software companies.

We build the pages buyers read just before they choose a tool. We make your help centre easy to find, and trace every signup and demo back to search. So SEO adds pipeline your sales team can close.

SaaS (software as a service) is software sold as a subscription. Its buyers search the job they need done, the tool they already use, or a rival's name with "alternative" after it. Those searches sit at the bottom of the funnel, the path from first hearing of you to paying. That is where people decide.

This page is for software companies past the earliest stage, with paying customers and a sales team. SEO is one part of our SaaS marketing work, and the full method is on the SEO services page. Still finding your first customers? See SEO for startups.

/ 04 What usually gets in the way

What gets in the wayand the way through.

“We rank for "what is" searches. Students read them. Buyers don't.”

Move the effort to use-case, integration, comparison and pricing searches, and report signups by page. Definitions bring readers who are months from buying, if ever.

“A rival's "alternatives" page ranks for our own brand name.”

Build your own comparison pages on facts a rival can't dispute, and keep them current. Someone searching your name with "alternative" is deciding right now.

“We sell to the US, and Google shows Americans our India page.”

Give each market its own version where price, currency or proof differ, and tie them together with hreflang tags. Set up wrongly, Google may ignore them.

“Marketing counts SEO leads. Sales says none of them closed.”

Pass the search source into your CRM (customer relationship management) software with each form and trial. The report then shows leads sales accepted, pipeline and won deals from search.

“We launched a new plan, and our pricing page still shows the old one.”

Give every page an owner and a check date, and send a reminder when a feature it mentions changes. A person on your product team signs off every change.

/ 05 How we work

Five steps, from your sales calls to your CRM.

  1. 01

Start with your sales and support teams

Before any keyword tool, we listen to demo calls and read support tickets. We note the words buyers use and the rivals they name.

  2. 02

    Check what Google can read

Many SaaS sites build pages in the browser, or let test copies into search. We check which pages Google has indexed (stored and able to show) and send your developers tickets, from an SEO audit.

  3. 03

Build the pages nearest the choice

Use-case pages, integration pages with real set-up steps, and a pricing page that answers what buyers ask on demo calls, such as how GST (goods and services tax) invoices work.

  4. 04

Write comparison pages a rival can't fault

ASCI, India's advertising watchdog, asks that comparisons be factual, provable and fair to the rival. Each fact carries its check date, and a product person signs off.

  5. 05

Open the help centre, then plan each market and AI answers

Public help articles, one task each, are linked to the feature page. Bulk pages come only from real data, because Google names scaled content abuse. We ask ChatGPT and Perplexity your buyers' questions, and fix the facts they get wrong. Our AI SEO work goes deeper.

Tell us what’s not working. We’ll send you an honest one-page growth plan, free.

Google names mass-made pages as spam. India's ad code asks that comparisons be provable.

SaaS SEO in depth

The rules that matter

Google's spam policies define scaled content abuse as many pages made mainly to manipulate rankings, and say such sites may rank lower or drop out. Google also asks you to fact-check AI-written content by hand before publishing. ASCI's code allows named comparisons if they are factual and capable of proof.

How buyers decide

Our view: a buyer reads your pricing page, a comparison page and the integration page for their tool before booking a demo. An IT reviewer checks security and the docs. They drop out when pricing is vague or a feature page shows an old plan.

What you can do, and what is not ours

You can keep a release checklist, name an owner for each page and turn support answers into public articles. Your product team must check every fact. We cannot control Google or what an AI assistant says, and nobody can promise a rank.

How we would deliver, and why each step

We listen to sales calls first, because buyers' own words beat a keyword tool. We launch a few pages of each type, to see which book demos. We trace signups to your CRM, because rankings do not pay salaries.

Bodies to know

/ 06 Cost

What affects the cost of SaaS SEO.

No price list. These things move the number.

We don't publish a price list. We quote against a written scope. Any paid tool or review-site cost sits on its own line, at actuals.

What affects the cost

  • Page types and count. Use-case, integration, comparison and template pages.
  • Your help centre. Its size, and how much should be public.
  • Markets. India only, or the US, UK or Middle East too.

How we quote

  1. A free 30-minute strategist call about your buyers, deal size and markets
  2. We read Search Console, your site and CRM fields, then send a one-page plan
  3. A written quote follows within 2 working days. Nothing starts until you approve it

What you get in the quote

  • The technical fixes, in order, and who ships each one
  • The page plan by type, with the monthly count
  • The monthly CRM report: signups, demos, pipeline and revenue from search

How it is billed

Way of workingWhen it fits
Monthly retainerPages, help-centre work, AI-answer checks and reporting. Minimum 3 months, 30 days' notice to stop
Project or audit firstA help-centre clean-up, a new-country launch or a one-off audit. Timeline confirmed in the quote
/ 07 What happens next

What happensafter you ask.

For projects we think we can help, this is how it goes.

  1. 01

    A strategist calls you

In one working day: a 30-minute call with one of our strategists about your business and what is not working.

  2. 02

    You get a 1-page plan

A short, honest plan: what to fix first and what we would do. It is free.

  3. 03

A quote, if you want one

If you want to go ahead, we send a quote within 2 working days.

SEO usually shows results in 3 to 6 months. Contracts start at 3 months, with 30 days' notice to stop.

Straight answers.

  • The base is the same: a site Google can read, useful pages and links that build trust. SEO for SaaS companies adds use-case, integration, comparison and pricing pages, work on your help centre, and pipeline reported from your CRM. Many general plans stop at rankings and traffic.

  • Four things drive it: the page types and count, the size of your help centre, your markets, and how deep the CRM reporting goes. We don't publish a price list. After a first conversation, you get a written scope with each item on its own line. A written quote follows within 2 working days of the first call.

  • SEO results usually come in 3 to 6 months. Narrow searches move first, like a niche use case or an integration few rivals cover, most of all if your site already has some history with Google. Comparisons with well-known rivals, and broad category terms, take longer.

  • Usually because the open web says more about them, and says it more clearly. AI assistants draw on pages they can reach: company sites, review sites, comparison lists, forums and news. If your pages don't state plainly what you do, for whom and how you charge, there is little to quote.

  • Yes, if they are fair. ASCI, the Advertising Standards Council of India, allows comparisons with named rivals on conditions. It must be clear what is compared. The facts must be accurate and provable. The comparison must not mislead or unfairly run down the rival. This is general guidance, not legal advice.
