/ 01 SEO for logistics companies

Shippers search by lane.Give them a page that answers.

Shippers search for a route and a cargo, not for a logistics company, so your pages must answer by lane. PromotEdge does SEO for logistics companies, from fleets to freight firms.

We build search pages around the services, lanes and cargo you really handle. The goal is more rate requests from the shippers you want, for the routes you want to fill.

SEO (search engine optimisation) means getting your pages into Google's free results. Business buyers type the job in front of them, such as "cold chain transport Kolkata to Guwahati". Each phrase gets few searches, but the person typing it usually has cargo ready.

So we start from your operations, not a keyword tool. Which lanes run full? Which warehouse has space this quarter? Search should send buyers to the gaps you want filled.

This page stays on search. For the whole logistics business, see our logistics marketing page. Our SEO services page explains the method for any industry.

/ 04 What usually gets in the way

What gets in the wayand the way through.

“Most calls from the website are drivers asking for jobs, not shippers.”

Give job seekers, truck owners and parcel trackers their own clear pages, so the quote form is left for people with cargo.

“An SEO firm offered us 500 city pages in a month.”

Build a lane or city page only when buyers search for it and you truly serve it. Pages that swap only the city name are what Google's spam rules call doorway pages.

“Search brings enquiries, but we can't tell which became business.”

Tag every request with the page and lane it came from, then follow it in your CRM (the software that holds your leads) to a contract.

“Our trucks go out full and come back empty.”

Build a page for the return route and the cargo that suits those trucks. Where almost nobody searches that route, your sales team should call shippers directly, and we say so.

“Rate requests sit in a shared inbox, and the shipper books someone else.”

Give every request an owner and a reminder in your CRM, however it arrives. AI tools can read it and fill in the details for the desk to check.

/ 05 How we work

From your lane listto quote requests.

  1. 01

    1. Map your lanes, then check the searches

With your operations head, we list your services, lanes and cargo. We match the list to search data, Google Search Console (Google's report on searches that show your site) and last year's RFQs (requests for quotation). Our SEO audit checks the site.

  2. 02

    2. Build pages, service first

Lane, hub and industry pages follow only where step 1 found demand. Change is the only constant, and buyers now ask ChatGPT as well as Google. Clear facts also help AI tools describe you correctly.

  3. 03

    3. Make asking quick, and show your papers

Each page gets a short rate form, a call button and WhatsApp, tested on a phone. Our conversion rate optimisation (CRO) work tests what gets more buyers to finish. Licence numbers are copied from the certificate.

  4. 04

    4. Put every qualifying branch on the map

Each qualifying location gets a Google Business Profile, named as on your signboard. We ask shippers for reviews after a delivery, and never buy them.

  5. 05

    5. Stay in view, and report every month

LinkedIn posts and a short email to people who agreed keep you in view. Think creative. Act on numbers. A monthly page counts rate requests, quotes, trial loads and contracts, using our tracking set-up and CRM link.

Tell us what’s not working. We’ll send you an honest one-page growth plan, free.

Show licences as the certificate states them. Build a lane page only for a lane you run.

SEO for logistics companies in depth

The rule that matters

Show your papers as the certificate states them. India's notification to the World Trade Organization says only a licensed customs broker may handle customs work for importers and exporters. Using a broker is not mandatory. IATA (the International Air Transport Association) says its cargo agency accreditation tells airlines a forwarder is financially sound and trained.

Source: World Trade Organization, Trade Facilitation Agreement Database, India's notification on Article 10.6.2 (customs brokers; Section 146, Customs Act, 1962), page undated, read 11 Oct 2026 (https://tfadatabase.org/members/india/article-10-6-2). IATA, Cargo Agency Program, read 11 Oct 2026 (https://www.iata.org/en/services/cargo-agency-program/)

How buyers decide

Our view: an operations or procurement head asks peers for names, searches the lane and the cargo, and checks your papers before sending an enquiry. They drop out at a page with no lane detail, a form that fails on a phone, or a licence number nobody can check.

What you can do, and what is not ours

You can keep every licence copy and expiry date in one place, name one person who owns each rate request, and tell us which lanes run full. Freight rates and delivery times are yours to set, so we never promise them. Google decides where pages show.

How we would deliver, and why each step

We start from your lane list, because search should fill the gaps you choose. We build pages only where buyers search, because look-alike city pages risk Google's spam rules. We tag every request by page and lane, because rankings do not pay for trucks.

Bodies to know

FFFAI: the Federation of Freight Forwarders' Associations in India calls itself the national apex body, established in 1962, with 30 member associations.

FIATA: the International Federation of Freight Forwarders Associations is a non-governmental, membership-based organisation.

IATA Cargo Agency Program: the accreditation scheme for air cargo agents.

/ 06 Cost

What affects the cost of SEO for a logistics company.

We don't publish a price list. We quote against a written scope. Costs paid to others, like search tools or LinkedIn ad spend, are billed at actuals.

What affects the cost

  • Services and lanes. How many need a page of their own.
  • Locations. Each branch or warehouse needs a clean Google listing.
  • Your site today. Slow pages or rates hidden in PDFs take more work.

How we quote

  1. A free 30-minute strategist call about the lanes you want more of
  2. We check your site and a sample of last year's RFQs, then send a one-page plan
  3. A written quote follows within 2 working days. You approve it before work starts

What you get in the quote

  • The pages we build first, and why
  • The fixes your site needs, in order
  • A monthly report of requests, quotes and contracts

How it is billed

Way of workingWhen it fits
Set-up projectSite fixes, first pages and rate form. Timeline confirmed in the quote
Monthly retainerNew pages and the report. Minimum 3 months, 30 days' notice to stop
/ 07 What happens next

What happensafter you ask.

For projects we think we can help, this is how it goes.

  1. 01

    A strategist calls you

In one working day: a 30-minute call with one of our strategists about your business and what is not working.

  2. 02

    You get a 1-page plan

A short, honest plan: what to fix first and what we would do. It is free.

  3. 03

A quote, if you want one

If you want to go ahead, we send a quote within 2 working days.

SEO usually shows results in 3 to 6 months. Contracts start at 3 months, with 30 days' notice to stop.

Straight answers.

  • We don't publish a price list. The cost depends on how many services, lanes and locations need pages and listings, and on the state of your site. We quote against a written scope, and the written quote follows within 2 working days of the first call.

  • Results usually come in 3 to 6 months. Fixing the site and the Maps listings often helps sooner. A page for a narrow service or lane fits that range. Broad phrases, such as a big city plus "freight forwarder", can take longer. We give you a forecast after the search check.

  • Only where buyers search for it and you truly run it. Google's spam policies call pages made to rank for similar searches doorway abuse, and name pages aimed at cities that funnel users to one page. Such sites may rank lower or not appear at all.

  • Yes. Warehouse buyers search by area, size and type of space, such as "warehouse on rent near the highway" or "cold storage for pharma". So each warehouse gets its own page: area, floor and dock details, photos and a site-visit button. Each site that qualifies also gets its own Maps listing.

  • Yes, if each one is a real place you operate from. Google allows one Business Profile per location. A rented address you don't work from, which Google calls a virtual office, isn't eligible. Where the address shows, Google expects a permanent signboard with your business name.
