Advertising agencyin Kolkata
A media list is not a plan. Pick the media by who buys from you.
A strategist calls you in one working day.
Mainline media,bought for results.
A media budget works only when it reaches the people who actually buy from you, and each ad can be traced to calls, walk-ins or orders. PromotEdge plans and writes newspaper, FM radio, TV and outdoor campaigns for Kolkata and Bengal businesses, and books the space too.
In one day a Kolkata buyer can see your ad in a Bengali paper, hear it on FM in a yellow taxi and pass it on a board on the Bypass. So we begin with your sales, not a media list: who buys, where, in which language, in which month? A Hatibagan saree shop and a Howrah engineering firm need different plans.
Choosing an agency here? Ask who sets the media plan, to see the owner's written rate for every booking and how each ad is counted. Our national view: advertising services. If your results notices run in the press, we also design the annual report that goes with them.
- 2015working with Indian brands since
- 65+in-house team: strategy, creative, media and tech
- 4pillars under one roof: strategy, advertising, digital, on-ground activation (BTL)
- 6cities: head office in Kolkata, teams in Mumbai, Delhi, Bangalore, Guwahati and Bhubaneswar
Change is the only constant.
Every mainline medium,one plan.
Newspaper ads in three languages
Display ads, front-page jackets, classifieds and Puja supplements. A smaller ad in the right paper often beats a big one in the wrong paper.
02FM radio and Akashvani
Spots, RJ mentions and sponsored features, scripted to the second.
03Television
Bengali and national channels, once we check TV is worth it at your budget.
04Outdoor, Metro and airport
Corridor boards and Puja sites, with the KMC permission checked before you pay.
05Campaign ideas that travel
Think creative, act on numbers: one idea that works in Bengali, English and Hindi.
06Ad films
TV commercials, digital films and cut-downs, made to fit the media plan.
Three languages, one big season.
Four things shape almost every plan we write here.
Print in three languages. In Census 2011, 61.45% of Kolkata district named Bengali as their mother tongue, 22.84% Hindi and 13.04% Urdu. The Audit Bureau of Circulations lists Kolkata editions for at least four Bengali, four English and three Hindi dailies.
Seven private FM stations, plus Akashvani. The Ministry of Information and Broadcasting rates Kolkata an A+ city and lists seven private FM channels on air as of 30 March 2026.
Durga Puja sets the year. Puja is India's second-biggest advertising season after Diwali. Industry estimates put the rise in Puja ad spend at 10-15% in 2025, led by FMCG (fast-moving consumer goods), auto, e-commerce, jewellery and electronics (Storyboard18, September 2025). In 2026, Mahalaya falls on 10 October and Dashami on 21 October. Space and airtime for those days sell weeks ahead.
TV is a regional buy with thin public data. The latest public Bengali viewership data we found is from 2018, so we quote no channel shares and plan on current ratings at booking, through our media partners.

| Medium | What Kolkata offers | How we use it |
|---|---|---|
| Bengali dailies | Anandabazar Patrika (ABP, first out on 13 March 1922), Bartaman, Sangbad Pratidin, Aajkaal and Ei Samay (sold to Tidings Media in May 2024). | Choose by area, reader and rate. Test first. |
| English and Hindi dailies | English: The Telegraph (ABP, here since 1982), The Times of India, The Economic Times, The Hindu, The Statesman (here since 1875). Hindi: Sanmarg, Prabhat Khabar, Rajasthan Patrika. | English for premium and B2B, Hindi for trade offers. |
| Private FM | Friends FM 91.9, Big FM 92.7, Red FM 93.5, Radio One 94.3, Radio Mirchi 98.3, Fever 104.0 and Ishq 104.8. MIB list, 30 March 2026. | Two or three stations, not all seven. |
| Outdoor rules | Under Section 202(1) of the KMC Act, 1980, an advertisement needs the civic body's approval. Puja 2026 boards could not go up before 3 October and had to come down by 29 October. | We ask for the permission ID before booking. |

How your business model changes the plan
A saree shop in one neighbourhood leans on a Bengali daily, FM and a nearby board. A B2B (business-to-business) maker uses English papers and search.

Who sets the rules and the numbers
ASCI is a voluntary self-regulator that keeps Indian advertising in line with the ASCI Code. AAAI, formed in 1945, is the national body of advertising agencies. MRUC, a not-for-profit body since 1994, runs the Indian Readership Survey (IRS) and Indian Outdoor Survey.

- Start from your sales. Media should follow your buyers, not a rate card. A one-page buyer and language map.
- Test small before a long contract. A rate does not tell you who responds. A short test release.
- Give every medium its own reply route. What can't be measured can't be achieved. A number, link, code or QR per release.
- Keep the proof. You pay for a release, so you should see it. Tear sheets, radio logs, dated site photos.
AI in advertising: today and next
Today
Google says its Gemini web app works in 70+ languages, including Bengali and Hindi. ElevenLabs says its dubbing covers 90+ languages, without lip sync. We use both for scratch drafts only.

Next
Our view: Bengali first drafts will get faster. Native writers, rate checks and Puja permissions stay human work.

What advertising in Kolkata costs.
Media is billed separately, at the owner's rate. Kolkata work is quoted the same way as the rest of India.
What affects the cost
- Papers and editions, ad size, colour and page position
- Radio: stations, spots a day, time band and weeks
- TV: channels, programmes, spots or sponsorship
- Season: Puja committees raised sponsorship rates about 15% in 2025
- Creative: artwork, jingles, ad films and language versions
- Outdoor: sites, sizes, duration, printing and mounting
How we quote
- We note the product, the shoppers and the weeks you want to be seen
- You get a written release plan with editions, stations, sites and dates
- Within 2 working days you get our work first, then each media rate as the owner quotes it
What you get in the quote
- The release plan, with dates
- Artwork, jingles or ad films, in each language
- The owner's written rate for every booking
Private papers and stations negotiate rates, so you get a written quote, not a guess. Ask any agency whether its quote includes GST and media.
What happensafter you ask.
For projects we think we can help, this is how it goes.

The fee depends on the media, language versions and creative work. Media is billed separately, at the owner's rate. Ongoing work has a 3-month minimum, then 30 days' notice. You get a written quote within 2 working days. The cost guide linked under Proof and reading covers public TV rates.

Yes. Our office is Suite 508, Ambuja Neotia Eco Centre, Sector V, Salt Lake. The people who plan and write your ads work there, and you can see the media plan in person. The numbers meeting in week 1 can be at your office or ours.

The one your buyers read, in their language: Anandabazar Patrika for Bengali homes, The Telegraph or The Economic Times for business, Sanmarg for Hindi readers. No public readership survey has come out since 2019, so we test small first, then choose the edition by area and reader.

Often, for offers with a date on them, like a sale or a Puja scheme. Kolkata has seven private FM stations on the MIB list (March 2026), plus Akashvani. Radio fails when a small budget is spread over all of them.

Plan in the monsoon and book by early September. In 2026, KMC took Puja hoarding applications only from 20 to 25 September. The best press positions go first, then radio slots and pandal deals, so a late plan means fewer choices.
-
Yes. Through our language partners we write press ads, radio and film scripts in Bengali, Hindi and English, chosen by who is buying: Bengali for homes, English for business buyers, Hindi for some trade audiences. The idea stays the same in each language.

What can't be measured can't be achieved. Each medium gets its own reply route: a phone number, WhatsApp link, offer code or QR code. We count enquiries against what each release cost, then move money to what works. We keep tear sheets as proof.
