/ 01 Annual report design company in Kolkata

A report peopleactually read.

Shareholders, lenders and buyers judge a company by how easily they can find and trust its numbers. PromotEdge plans the structure, designs the pages, charts the figures and prepares print and web files for Kolkata's listed companies, family-run groups and exporters, so the year is understood quickly.

Most annual reports get built in a rush between the audit and the notice for the annual general meeting (AGM). The result is a dense PDF that only the finance team opens. A good report tells the year's story and makes the statements easy to find.

We start with logic and your numbers, not with ideas we happen to like. We design, typeset and chart, and printing is delivered through PEXORA, a joint venture of PromotEdge and Prodigy. Your management, company secretary and auditors own the numbers and the compliance text, and nothing goes to print without their sign-off.

Our Sector V team works beside our graphic design in Kolkata and brochure and catalogue design. For the national approach, see annual report design, and for listed firms, annual reports for IPO and listed companies.

/ 03 Why Kolkata reports are different

Old addresses, new readers.

Two things shape how we design for this city.

Old addresses, serious readers. BBD Bagh, once Dalhousie Square, is described as one of Kolkata's central business districts. Groups with that history want a report that feels serious without looking dated. Younger firms preparing for funding often need a first, slimmer report rather than a 200-page book.

Exporters and shippers write for readers abroad. Their report, or a short version of it, often lands on a foreign buyer's or banker's desk. It must read cleanly in plain international English.

/ 04 Kolkata's corporate base

Who reports here, and what they need.

Kolkata factWhat the record showsWhat it means for the report
BBD BaghThe Calcutta Stock Exchange, the Royal Exchange Building and the Reserve Bank's eastern office stand there.A restrained, classic style often suits older groups; we keep it current.
Reserve Bank of India, KolkataThe regional office is at 15 N.S. Road.Banks and finance firms carry extra regulatory tables; we plan space for them early.
Kolkata district exports, 2024-25Gems and jewellery 58.8%, iron and steel 17.5% (state export action plan).Segment and market charts that a buyer abroad can read in a minute.
Syama Prasad Mookerjee Port64.03 million tonnes from April 2025 to February 2026; a record 874,360 TEUs (container units).Volumes and capacity charted as clearly as revenue.

Sources as cited, read 11 October 2026. Institutions are named as part of Kolkata's corporate base, not as PromotEdge clients.

/ 05 How a report comes together

Plan in April, print before the AGM.

  1. 01

    Kick-off (March-April)

We meet your CFO and company secretary, in Sector V or at your office, to fix the page plan, dates and sign-offs.

  2. 02

    Content in by section (April-May)

Drafts, photos and data arrive section by section. We flag gaps early, because late numbers cause most delays.

  3. 03

    Design and charts (May-June)

Cover, section design and every chart built from final figures, with a check sheet for each number.

  4. 04

    Proof rounds (June-July)

Usually three rounds with tracked changes, then a final read by your auditors and secretarial team.

  5. 05

    Print and web files (July-August)

Colour proofs signed off before the print run, then a web PDF. As general guidance, a March year-end company holds its AGM within six months, by 30 September. Your company secretary confirms the dates.

How we deliver it, and why

How your business model changes the plan

A listed group needs statutory sections and BRSR space. An exporter adds a plain-English buyer edition. A family-run group often wants a short lenders' edition. A young firm before funding may need only a slim first report.

  1. Plan back from the AGM date. Late numbers cause most delays, so dates come first. A proof schedule.
  2. Chart only from final figures. A chart built on a draft number has to be redone. A check sheet for each number.
  3. Leave disclosures with your team. The company owns the BRSR and compliance text. Space designed so the data is easy to find and check.
  4. Cut short versions from one design. Banks, buyers and AGM handouts need different lengths. A highlights booklet or deck.
  5. Archive the design system. Next year should not start from a blank page. A template for next year.

AI in annual report design: today and next

Today: Gemini in Google Sheets

Google says Gemini in Sheets can create tables and formulas, analyse data and build charts. Its page also warns that it may suggest inaccurate information. Our view: useful for a first chart draft, never for a figure. Every number still comes from the signed accounts.

Next

Our view: drafts will get faster. Checking and sign-off stay with your secretary and auditors. Want us to show where AI could save time on your next report? Ask us.

/ 06 Cost

What annual report design costs.

We do not publish a price list, because a slim report and a long one full of charts and ESG sections are different jobs. Our design fees are the same in Kolkata as across India. Printing is billed at the printer's quote. We send the quote within 2 working days.

What affects the cost

  • Page count, and how many pages are designed spreads rather than plain statements
  • Number of charts and infographics
  • BRSR and ESG sections
  • Photography: existing images, stock or a new shoot
  • Versions: full report, highlights booklet, investor deck, other languages

How we quote

  1. You share last year's report, if there is one, and the date of your AGM.
  2. We write a scope with a proof schedule that works back from the AGM date.
  3. You get a quote with design, charts and each version on separate lines, before you approve.

What you get in the quote

  • A page band, and what happens if the page count grows after the content is frozen
  • The number of proof rounds covered
  • Press-ready and web files, with the printer's quote shown apart

Most delays come from late numbers. We can't do magic alone: the sooner your finance team shares figures, the faster the report moves.

/ 07 What happens next

What happensafter you ask.

For projects we think we can help, this is how it goes.

  1. 01

    A strategist calls you

In one working day: a 30-minute call with one of our strategists about your business and what is not working.

  2. 02

    You get a 1-page plan

A short, honest plan: what to fix first and what we would do. It is free.

  3. 03

A quote, if you want one

If you want to go ahead, we send a quote within 2 working days.

We confirm the timeline in the quote. Contracts start at 3 months, with 30 days' notice to stop.

Straight answers.

  • At our office, Suite 508, Ambuja Neotia Eco Centre, Sector V, Salt Lake, or at yours, whether that is in BBD Bagh, on Camac Street or in New Town. An annual report goes better with a few face-to-face reviews, above all at proof stage.

  • For a March year-end, start planning in April while the audit is under way. As general guidance, the AGM normally falls within six months of the year-end, and shareholders must get the report before it. Starting in July usually means a rushed report.

  • No. Under SEBI's rules the company owns its Business Responsibility and Sustainability Report (BRSR), so your compliance and sustainability teams write and approve the disclosures. We design the section so the data is easy to find and check. This is general guidance, not legal advice.

  • Yes. Our language partners write the Bengali or Hindi version, and our team checks it against the English. The full report is usually in English. Some groups add a short highlights version in Bengali or Hindi for employees or local shareholders.

  • Yes. We prepare press-ready files for the annual report and check colour proofs before the run. If you prefer your own printer, we hand the files to them. Either way, printing is billed separately, at the printer's own quote, so you can compare it.

  • It depends on page count, charts, ESG sections, photography and how many versions you need. We don't publish a price list. After a first conversation we write a scope with a proof schedule, and we send the quote within 2 working days.
