Advertisingfor the capital
Delhi has nine FM stations, a crowded newspaper shelf and hoardings under written rules. Being counted is the hard part. Each booking is tied to the enquiries it brings.
A strategist calls you in one working day.
A loud city.Spend where you can count it.
Delhi gives you many places to advertise and few ways to count what each one brought. PromotEdge plans, writes and books radio, press and outdoor ads for businesses selling in Delhi NCR, so that each rupee of media is matched to the enquiries it brought.
Our servicing team in Delhi plans and writes your campaign, mostly on calls and shared reports. We visit for planning days, shoots and launches.
Delhi is not short of media, so the work is choosing well. Good results should repeat, not happen by luck. This page covers radio, press and OOH (out of home: hoardings and screens). See the national advertising page and the Delhi NCR overview.

Four facts that shape a Delhi media plan.
Public records, checked 4 October 2026.
1. One radio market for the whole region. The broadcasting ministry's list of 30 March 2026 shows nine private FM stations in Delhi, in the top city category, A+. Noida, Gurgaon, Ghaziabad and Faridabad have no entries of their own, so NCR radio is bought as Delhi radio.
2. Papers for every language and suburb. On the ABC (Audit Bureau of Circulations) list, eleven papers print New Delhi editions: three English, seven Hindi and one Malayalam.
3. Outdoor follows a written rulebook. The Delhi Outdoor Advertising Policy 2017 was finalised by EPCA, the court-appointed pollution authority, in the M.C. Mehta case in the Supreme Court. It applies in the municipal corporations' areas and NDMC (the New Delhi Municipal Council).
4. The festive peak and the biggest fair arrive together. Delhi's 2026 holiday list puts Dussehra on 20 October, Diwali on 8 November and Guru Nanak's Birthday on 24 November. The India International Trade Fair (IITF) runs at Bharat Mandapam from 14 to 27 November 2026. Shops and trade sellers chase the same weeks of airtime, page space and roadside.
What you can book, and on what terms.
| Delhi item | What the record says | What we do with it |
|---|---|---|
| Radio: private FM and Akashvani | Nine private FM stations (ministry list, 30 March 2026). Akashvani FM Rainbow 102.6 and FM Gold 100.1: ₹1,100 per 10 seconds in prime time, 7 to 11 am and 5 to 11 pm (government card, rates from 1 June 2017, not ours). | Pick two or three stations by buyer, and ask each for its coverage map. We confirm the rate in force. |
| Papers | New Delhi editions: The Times of India, Hindustan Times, The Economic Times; Navbharat Times, Dainik Jagran, Hindustan, Amar Ujala, Punjab Kesari, Navodaya Times, Sandhya Times; Malayala Manorama. Gurgaon and Noida have editions too. | English suits offices; Hindi suits families and shops. One or two papers, by where buyers live. |
| Permission and size | Under the DMC Act (Delhi Municipal Corporation Act), no ad goes up without the Commissioner's prior written permission. Billboards and unipoles: up to 6 m by 3 m on roads under 100 feet wide, 10 m by 5 m on wider roads. LED and LCD screens up to 10 m by 5 m. | No permission letter, no booking. We design for the site's real size. |
| The 8-second LED rule | Each LED or LCD ad must stay on screen at least 8 seconds. The switch to the next ad must take under 0.1 second. | No story that needs 20 seconds. One clear frame. |

Six steps, one report at the end.
- 01
Start from one number
What an enquiry costs you today, and where in NCR your buyers live.
- 02
Pick the layers
Radio for repetition, press for an offer, outdoor only on your buyers' routes.
- 03
Check rates and paperwork
Private FM quotes beside the Akashvani card. For every site: the permission letter, size against road width, the banned-place list.
- 04
Make the ads
Radio scripts, press ads, hoarding artwork and 8-second screen frames, all with one offer.
- 05
Release, with proof
Station logs, tear sheets and dated site photos.
- 06
Count what came back
A campaign-only number, QR code or offer code shows which ad worked. Your report gives the CPL (cost per lead): spend divided by enquiries.

How we deliver it, and why
Delhi outdoor rules in detail
Ads fall into four groups: large formats, public amenities, transport, and shops' own signs (up to 2.5 sq m). Height is up to 10 m (14 m near railways and the airport), 2.5 m clear of the ground; bridge and flyover panels go up to 18 m by 3 m. No outdoor ads show nudity or promote drugs, alcohol, cigarettes or tobacco, and none stand in national parks, near historical monuments, at cremation grounds and graveyards, in World Heritage areas or inside religious places. Delhi Police asked for ad devices to stand at least 100 m apart on highways and main roads. Contracts run 3 years at most unless the corporation agrees, and blacklisted or unregistered advertisers cannot hold them. We ask the site owner for proof of registration before you pay.

Other Akashvani services
FM Rainbow 102.6 and FM Gold 100.1 fall to ₹770 from 11 am to 5 pm and ₹440 from 11 pm to 7 am. Primary Channel 819 kHz: ₹830 in music and listener's-choice shows, ₹550 in spoken-word shows. Vividh Bharati 106.4: ₹500 from 6.30 to 10 am and 7 to 11 pm, down to ₹330 in the afternoon band. Lower card rates suit long reminder runs between bursts.

Who sets the rules and who measures
ASCI, formed in 1985, is the advertising industry's self-regulatory body. MRUC, a not-for-profit industry body since 1994, runs the Indian Readership Survey and the Indian Outdoor Survey. AAAI is the national organisation of advertising agencies, formed in 1945.

- Start from what one enquiry costs you today. Without that number no medium can be judged. A starting cost per lead.
- Pick two layers, not three. A thin budget spread over radio, press and outdoor is noticed on none. A plan with two layers and one offer.
- Check the paperwork before the rate. A site without the Commissioner's letter is a risk, however cheap. A permission letter on file per site.
- Make the offer fit the frame. An LED ad gets 8 seconds and a radio spot gets 10. Frames and scripts timed to the second.
AI in advertising: today and next
Today: Google Performance Max
Google says Performance Max reaches YouTube, Display, Search, Discover, Gmail and Maps from one campaign, takes text, images and video, and bids on the chance of a conversion. We use it as the online step after radio and press.

Today: early storyboards
Adobe says Firefly offers boards and storyboards alongside image and video tools. Useful for rough 8-second frames. A designer still checks size, legibility and the permission rules.

What affects the cost of advertising in Delhi.
Airtime, paper space, sites, screens, printing, mounting and travel are billed at actuals, and you see each before you approve.
What affects the cost

- Print: edition (New Delhi, Delhi, Gurgaon or Noida), language, size, day

- LED screens: how many, and plays per hour of your 8-second ad
- Season: Dussehra, Diwali, Guru Nanak's Birthday and IITF weeks fill first
- Versions and travel: language cuts, and trips for shoots and launches

Our servicing team is based in cities across India, and it runs your Delhi campaign. We talk most days and visit for planning days, shoots and launches. When a launch needs people on the ground, we place the team at your site.

Akashvani has a public price. Its government card, rates from 1 June 2017, lists a 10-second spot on FM Rainbow or FM Gold Delhi at ₹1,100 in prime time and ₹440 late at night. Those are government rates, not ours. The nine private stations quote their own.
-
Yes, with the Commissioner's written permission for the site. The 2017 policy caps size by road width, keeps each LED ad up for at least 8 seconds and bans alcohol, tobacco and drug ads. We ask for the permission letter before you pay. General guidance, not legal advice.
-
Start with who buys. Hindi reaches most Delhi families and English suits offices. Hindi is Delhi's first official language and Urdu a second, so use them where buyers read them. Our language partners write all three, and our team checks every version before it goes out.
-
Not for radio and press. Diwali falls on 8 November, about five weeks away. Hoarding sites may be booked, so ask early, before festive demand fills the best sites. For Diwali 2027, which central government offices mark on 29 October 2027, talk to us by July.
-
Radio and press usually bring calls in the week they run. Outdoor builds familiarity over a month or more. Judge a plan after two or three bursts. Your report shows cost per lead by medium and by release, updated each week.
-
We won't claim that title, and you should doubt anyone who does. Ask each agency: will you show the permission letter for every site? How will you prove my radio spots ran? Are media costs apart from your fee, in writing?
-
Radio is bought as Delhi radio, because the ministry's list has no private FM entries for Noida or Gurgaon. Gurgaon and Noida have print editions of their own. Gurugram outdoor follows Haryana's rules, not Delhi's. See our Noida page and Gurugram page.
