An ad is space you buy. A story is space a reporter gives you because the news is worth it. PromotEdge writes your news for business desks and for papers in four languages. We promise the work, never the headline.

A strategist calls you in one working day.

The city where money news is made.Have a real story ready.

In PR you earn space, you do not buy it, so the news has to be real before the pitch. PromotEdge finds the news in your company, writes it for business, city and language desks, and takes it to the reporters who cover your field, so buyers and investors hear about you from a source they trust.

PR (public relations) means getting others to talk about you, so we never promise coverage. If your news is weak, we say so before we pitch.

Many Mumbai buyers are finance firms and listed companies. See our fintech and listed companies pages. Our public relations page explains PR in general.

Our servicing team in Mumbai starts on video calls, joins your press meets, interviews and launches, and sits down with you at least once every three months. The same service elsewhere: PR in Bangalore and PR in Noida.

/ 03 Why Mumbai PR is different

Old papers, new rules, many readers.

Four public facts change how we plan a Mumbai story.

Regulators work here, so finance news is checked hard. The Reserve Bank of India moved its central office to Mumbai in 1937. SEBI, the stock market regulator, has its head office in BKC (Bandra Kurla Complex), planned from 1958. Reporters here know the numbers, so a loose claim will be caught.

Some papers are older than most Indian firms. Mumbai Samachar, in Gujarati, first came out on 1 July 1822; Scroll calls it "the oldest Asian newspaper still in existence". The Free Press Journal says it began in 1928. Saamana, in Marathi, began on 23 January 1989, its Hindi sister in 1993.

The list keeps changing. DNA printed its last Mumbai edition on 10 October 2019. In December 2020 Mumbai Mirror went weekly. So we build a fresh reporter list for each story.

One city, many home languages. By our count from Census 2011, about 35% of Greater Mumbai named Marathi as mother tongue, about 29% a Hindi-group language, 12% Urdu and 11% Gujarati. A school or housing story may land better in a community paper.

Which desk, which language,which week.

WhatIn MumbaiWhat it means for your story
Marathi papersLoksatta (Indian Express Group) and Daily Sakal have Mumbai editions on the ABC (Audit Bureau of Circulations) list. Saamana, Lokmat and Maharashtra Times are big too.The largest language group. Civic and local business stories fit.
Gujarati, Hindi and English papersMumbai Samachar (Gujarati, with a Diwali annual), Navbharat Times (Hindi), The Free Press Journal and The Hindu have Mumbai editions on the ABC list. The Asian Age says it launched in Delhi, Mumbai and London in February 1994.Traders, family firms and office readers. A Diwali story may suit the annual.
Summits as news momentsWAVES 2025, the government's media summit, ran at Jio World Centre on 1 to 4 May 2025. Global Fintech Fest 2026 was set for 8 to 11 September at Jio World Centre and Trident BKC.Reporters gather here. We pitch two or three weeks before.
Thane and Navi MumbaiNo ABC member edition of their own. About half the people in each named Marathi as mother tongue (Census 2011, our count). We check which Mumbai paper's city pages cover your area.

Sources as cited, checked 4 October 2026. Papers, bodies and venues are facts about Mumbai, not our clients, partners or contacts.

/ 05 How Mumbai PR runs

Five steps,one plain report.

  1. 01

    Find the news (week 1)

A video call with your leaders. What changed this year, and what can you prove with a number?

  2. 02

    Check the facts (week 1)

Every figure is checked against your records. Listed firms also clear it with their company secretary.

  3. 03

Pick desks and languages (week 2)

Business, city, trade or community desk, in the language you choose with us.

  4. 04

    Pitch and follow up

We write to and call the reporters who cover your subject.

  5. 05

    Report each month

Every story with outlet, date and language, then what moved: enquiries and searches for your name.

Tell us what’s not working. We’ll send you an honest one-page growth plan, free.

How we deliver it, and why

How your business model changes the plan

A listed firm needs sign-offs before every release. A fintech startup, like any young company that must be believed, does best with a founder voice and one real number. A family firm or shop often fits a community paper.

  1. Look for the news inside your business first. A reporter writes about what changed, not about a brand. Real angles, or an honest "not yet".
  2. Check every figure and clear listed-firm releases with the company secretary. Finance desks catch loose numbers, and one miss costs more than silence. A signed-off release.
  3. Write each language fresh. A Marathi reader can tell a translation from a story written for them. Separate versions, checked by our team.
  4. Count what moved. Clippings do not pay the bills; enquiries and name searches do. A monthly report with paid space marked as paid.

More of Mumbai's press

The Mumbai Press Club (Glass House, Mahapalika Marg, Azad Maidan, Fort) runs the RedInk Awards and is a known room for press meets. Daily Thanthi (Tamil), Udayavani (Kannada) and Malayala Manorama (Malayalam) print in Mumbai, and Inquilab is an Urdu daily of the city. The ABC list is not complete.

On radio, there are eight private FM stations at 91.1 to 104.8 MHz, and Akashvani Mumbai runs FM Rainbow 107.1, FM Gold 100.7 and Vividh Bharati 1188 kHz. Advice from an expert can pitch for a talk slot; paid spots are an ad buy.

Near BKC, Jio World Convention Centre has 25 meeting rooms (as announced in 2022), and NMACC has a 250-seat Studio Theatre and a 125-seat Cube. Twenty reporters do not need a hall.

Who sets the rules, and who speaks for the trade

ASCI (the Advertising Standards Council of India) was formed in 1985 and published influencer guidelines in May 2021, so each paid creator post must say it is paid. BARC India, which measures TV ratings, was set up by broadcasters, advertisers and agencies together and has its office in Parel. PRCAI, the Public Relations Consultants Association of India, says it was formed by a collective of like-minded PR firms more than two decades ago.

AI in PR: today and next

Today: Google's AI answers

Google says no special markup or file is needed to appear in AI Overviews or AI Mode. A page must be indexed and eligible to show with a snippet to be a supporting link, and even then inclusion is not guaranteed. Our view: a real story on a news site that Google indexes can be one of those links, which is one more reason to earn coverage rather than buy it.

Next

Our view: drafting a release will get faster, but a reporter still needs a true story and a checked number.

/ 06 Cost

What affects the cost of PR in Mumbai.

We don't publish a price list. Earned stories have no media bill. Rooms, photographers and our travel are billed at actual cost, and you see each before you say yes.

What affects the cost

  • Stories a month, and whether they go to finance, city, trade or community desks
  • Languages: each Marathi, Gujarati, Hindi or Urdu version is written fresh
  • Fact checks and sign-offs, which take longer for listed firms
  • Press meets, speaker practice and our trips

How we quote

  1. A first video call on your news and the readers you want
  2. A story list: angles, desks and languages for three months
  3. A written quote, with room, photo and travel costs on their own lines

What you get in the quote

  • The stories we plan to pitch, and to which desks
  • The language versions, and who signs off each release
  • A monthly report that marks any paid space as paid

Comparing quotes? Ask who will call the reporters.

/ 07 What happens next

What happensafter you ask.

For projects we think we can help, this is how it goes.

  1. 01

    A strategist calls you

In one working day: a 30-minute call with one of our strategists about your business and what is not working.

  2. 02

    You get a 1-page plan

A short, honest plan: what to fix first and what we would do. It is free.

  3. 03

A quote, if you want one

If you want to go ahead, we send a quote within 2 working days.

We confirm the timeline in the quote. Contracts start at 3 months, with 30 days' notice to stop.

We look at your business first. Marketing comes second.

Have news to share in Mumbai?

Or leave your number. A strategist calls you in one working day.

We use these details only to call you back. Privacy notice.

Straight answers.

  • You do not need one next door. Our servicing team in Mumbai serves Mumbai, Thane and Navi Mumbai. We talk every day, meet you at least once every three months and join press meets and launches. When a job needs it, our team works from your site.

  • It finds the news in your business and puts it in front of the right reporters: business desks for funding or results, Marathi or Gujarati papers for local stories, and trade titles for firms that sell to firms. We also write the press kit and prepare your spokesperson.

  • No. Editors decide what runs, and no honest agency can promise it. We promise the work: a real angle, the right reporter, quick answers and follow-up. Assured coverage is most likely paid space, so ask any agency that guarantees a page whether it is paid.

  • Start with who you want to reach. Our language partners write in all four and English. Marathi is the largest mother tongue in Greater Mumbai. State government work falls under Maharashtra's 2021 Marathi rule. This is general guidance, not legal advice.

  • More care with facts and timing. SEBI sits in BKC, and finance reporters check numbers closely. A listed firm's company secretary should clear any release, and we plan that step in. Expect a slower, more careful sign-off. This is general guidance, not legal advice.

  • Now, for Diwali: Dussehra is on 20 October and Laxmi Pujan on 8 November 2026, and festival pages fill early. For the Tata Mumbai Marathon on 17 January 2027, start in early December. For a summit, three to four weeks ahead.

  • A story with real news can run within a week of the pitch. Being known in your field takes three to six months of steady stories. Online stories last: TRAI counted 37.11 million internet subscribers in its Mumbai service area in March 2026. Ongoing work has a 3-month minimum, then 30 days' notice.

  • We won't claim that title, and nobody can prove it. Ask each agency who will pitch your story, which stories it earned without paying, and how it reports results. Walk away from anyone who promises placements. Ask us the same, and we will show you how we report before you sign.
