Feeds that bringcustomers to the counter.

Followers and likes are easy to count, but only enquiries and orders pay for the work. PromotEdge, a social media marketing company in Kolkata, plans, shoots and runs your Instagram, Facebook, YouTube and LinkedIn work, with paid ads.

Your feed then brings enquiries or orders you can count.

Most Kolkata businesses we meet already post. A cousin or a junior puts up festival greetings. Yet nobody can say how many customers the page brought last month.

So our first meeting is about your sales, not our ideas. A feed should impress your customers, not you. After seeing a post, what should they do: call, WhatsApp, walk in or fill a form? And what is one new customer worth?

Unpaid posts keep you in front of people who know you. Paid social finds new people. The same team runs Meta ads and creator campaigns. The full service is on our national social media marketing page.

/ 03 Social media in Kolkata

What makes a Kolkata feed work differently.

A plan copied from a Mumbai brand often falls flat here. Three things change what you post, in which language and when.

One city, three mother tongues. In the 2011 Census, Bengali was the mother tongue of 61.45% of Kolkata district, Hindi of 22.84% and Urdu of 13.04%. A Gariahat saree shop and a Sector V software firm may need different languages. We choose by buyer, and test first.

Your buyers are already online. TRAI counted 21.01 million internet subscribers in its Kolkata service area at the end of March 2026. Reach is rarely the hard part. Attention is. The first frame of every reel matters more than the caption.

The calendar is a string of festivals. UNESCO inscribed Durga Puja in Kolkata on its intangible heritage list in 2021. For regional brands in the East, Puja can take 25-30% of the year's marketing outlay, said a strategist Storyboard18 quoted in September 2025.

A 2022 PTI report said Poila Boishakh traditionally brings shopkeepers about a third of their annual sales. A brand that only wakes up in October misses most of these moments.

Dates, places and crowdsyour feed should know.

MomentIn KolkataFor your social plan
Festival dates, 2026Saraswati Puja 23 January; Poila Boishakh 15 April; Mahalaya 10 October; Durga Puja 18-21 October; Kali Puja 8 November.Approve festival content weeks early. Puja reels should be ready before Mahalaya.
Puja ad seasonIndia's second-biggest ad season after Diwali. Puja ad spend rose 10-15% in 2025, led by FMCG (fast-moving consumer goods), auto, e-commerce and jewellery.Feeds get crowded in October. Build your audience in August and September.
Markets and mallsOver Puja 2025, Gariahat, Hatibagan and New Market earned about ₹800 crore, and the eight major malls about ₹900 crore (The Federal). For a shop, ads within a few kilometres beat a city-wide campaign.
Book Fair22 January to 3 February 2026 at Boimela Prangan, Salt Lake: a record 32 lakh visitors and ₹27 crore of book sales.Publishers, cafés and education brands get a ready crowd. Cover it live.

/ 06 How we work

From first meetingto monthly numbers.

  1. 01

    Meet and look

At our Sector V office or your shop, we go through your pages, past ads and sales figures.

  2. 02

    Plan the quarter

A calendar tied to your sales dates, a language plan, an ad budget and our targets.

  3. 03

    Shoot and run

One half-day shoot gives weeks of reels. You approve every post. We can't do magic alone: quick replies from you keep the calendar moving.

  4. 04

    Review and change

Each month we read leads, cost per lead and traced sales, then move money to what worked.

How we deliver it, and why

How your business model changes the plan

A shop leads with the street, the store and WhatsApp. A D2C (direct-to-customer) brand leads with Reels and creators. A B2B firm leads with LinkedIn and proof.

  1. Start from the sale. A post is only useful if the reader has a next step. One written job per post.
  2. Pick the language per buyer. Bengali, Hindi and English reach different people in the same city. A language plan with a test.
  3. Shoot in batches. One half-day gives weeks of real reels from your own shelves. A shoot list you approve.
  4. Hand hot enquiries to sales fast. A lead that waits two days is a lost lead. A same-day hand-over rule.

Go deeper: Kolkata's crowds

Sport

Eden Gardens seats about 68,000, and Kolkata Knight Riders won the IPL in 2012, 2014 and 2024. Salt Lake Stadium holds 85,000 and is home to Mohun Bagan and East Bengal. Club names, logos and players need written rights before you use them.

Park Street in December

The Kolkata Christmas Festival at Allen Park, Park Street, runs every December. The 2024 edition ran 19-30 December. Bakeries, restaurants and gifting brands get a strong window.

AI in social media: today and next

Today: Meta

Meta says Advantage+ creative uses AI to generate and improve ad variations across single image, video and carousel formats. Some may be on by default. You can turn them off, and Meta advises checking previews before ads go live.

Next

Our view: first drafts will get cheaper, so your shop, staff and Bengali voice become the edge. A person approves every post. Want us to check where AI could save time on your feed? Ask us.

/ 07 Cost

What social mediacosts in Kolkata.

We don't publish a price list. Kolkata clients pay the same as clients elsewhere in India. Ad spend is separate. We send the quote within 2 working days.

What affects the cost

  • Platforms: Instagram and Facebook only, or YouTube and LinkedIn too
  • Reels and posts each month, and how many need a fresh shoot
  • Languages: one, or Bengali, Hindi and English
  • Ad spend, and campaigns running side by side
  • Festival months, which need extra content

How we quote

  1. You tell us what you sell, to whom, and which platform brings buyers now
  2. You get a written content plan: platforms, reels and posts a month, shoots and languages
  3. Our fee, shoot days and ad spend on separate lines, before you approve

What you get in the quote

  • Reels and posts a month, by platform
  • Shoot days at your shop or factory
  • Ads management, with the ad account in your company's name
  • A monthly review of enquiries, not just likes

Comparing quotes? Count the reels, and ask about GST.

/ 08 What happens next

What happensafter you ask.

For projects we think we can help, this is how it goes.

A short, honest plan: what to fix first and what we would do. It is free.

  3. 03

A quote, if you want one

If you want to go ahead, we send a quote within 2 working days.

We confirm the timeline in the quote. Contracts start at 3 months, with 30 days' notice to stop.

Straight answers.

  • It depends on the platforms, reels and shoots each month, the languages and the ad budget. Social media alone costs less than a plan that adds search, websites or print. We don't publish a price list. We quote after a first conversation, with ad spend shown apart.

  • Choose the one that explains how your social media will be judged on enquiries. Ask who owns the page and ad accounts. Ask who shoots and writes, which language posts use, how enquiries are counted and who answers messages. Their answers tell you more than a portfolio.

  • Social media work is ongoing. It has a 3-month minimum, then you can stop with 30 days' notice. You keep your accounts, logins and files. Be wary of thirty posts a month at a very low fee. Volume is easy to sell. Enquiries are what you need.

  • Yes. Our office is in Kolkata, at Suite 508, Ambuja Neotia Eco Centre, Sector V, Salt Lake. The people who plan your calendar and run your ads work there. Partner agencies or industry consultants join where a job needs them.

  • Yes, and we prefer it, because real products and staff beat stock photos. One planned visit to Burrabazar, Gariahat, Howrah or wherever you are covers several weeks of content. We bring the camera, the shot list and a plan for what to post when.

  • Yes. Our language partners write captions, reel scripts and ad copy in Bengali, Hindi and English. Our team plans and checks the calendar. We pick the language per audience: Bengali may win in south Kolkata, Hindi with trade buyers, English with Sector V firms.

  • By July. In 2026, Mahalaya was on 10 October and Saptami on 18 October, and feeds get crowded from Mahalaya on. July leaves time to test ideas on small budgets in August, then back the winner in September, before the festival rush.

  • Sometimes. A café in Salt Lake may get most buyers from Instagram and WhatsApp. A Burrabazar trader selling to other districts may do better on Facebook, and a Sector V IT firm needs LinkedIn. We'll tell you which platform to skip.
