/ 01 Social media marketing agency in Chennai

Tamil first,then everything else.

Followers matter only when they turn into walk-ins, calls and orders. PromotEdge plans, writes and runs Instagram, Facebook, YouTube and LinkedIn for shops, startups and suppliers, so that your followers turn into walk-ins, calls and orders.

In Chennai the first choice is language, then platform. A silk saree shop in T. Nagar, a software startup on OMR and a parts maker near Sriperumbudur talk to very different people.

Our full method is on the main social media marketing page; this page covers what is different in Chennai. See also the Chennai overview. The same service is described for Bangalore and Ahmedabad. Want us to look at your pages? Ask for a free plan.

/ 03 Social media in Chennai

Four facts that shape a Chennai feed.

Each one changes the language, the timing or the platform we pick for you.

Most of the city thinks in Tamil. In the old city area, about 78% of people named Tamil as their mother tongue in Census 2011, as reported; Telugu, Urdu, Hindi and Malayalam came next. Tamil is the state's official language, with English as an extra one. So a feed often needs Tamil captions, written by our language partners and checked by our team.

The streets are going Tamil first. The Greater Chennai Corporation has told every shop to put Tamil on its name board in the biggest letters, then English, then any third language, in a 5:3:2 size ratio. In September 2026 the Madras High Court gave retailers a final deadline of 1 November 2026. The fine is Rs 2,000. A shop that changes its board should match its profile and posts.

Almost everyone is online. TRAI, the telecom regulator, counts Chennai inside Tamil Nadu. The state had 67.73 million internet subscribers in March 2026, or 87.33 for every 100 people, and 111.93 per 100 in urban areas, as many carry two connections. Think short vertical video, made for a phone.

The year runs on festivals. Pongal, Tamil New Year and Vinayagar Chathurthi have passed for 2026. Ayudha Pooja falls on Monday 19 October, Vijayadasami on 20 October and Deepavali on Sunday 8 November. Ranganathan Street in T. Nagar is at its busiest during Deepavali. Then comes Margazhi, which Tamil Nadu Tourism calls a month-long festival of music and dance.

/ 05 How a Chennai account runs

Run from anywhere, set to Chennai's clock.

Most accounts go live three to four weeks after the first call. We can't do magic alone: the faster you approve, the faster you see results.

  1. 01

    First call (week 1)

You tell us who buys, what they ask and where they come from.

  2. 02

    Account check (weeks 1-2)

We study your pages and two or three Chennai rivals, then send our first three fixes.

  3. 03

    Language plan (week 2)

We agree which posts go out in Tamil and which in English, and who checks the Tamil.

  4. 04

Calendar and shot list (week 3)

Festivals, sales and fairs on one plan, then the photos and clips we need.

  5. 05

    Every week

Nothing goes live without your yes, and comments get replies every working day.

  6. 06

    Every month

A short report on what brought calls, visits or orders. Festival posts are drafted four weeks ahead.

Tell us what’s not working. We’ll send you an honest one-page growth plan, free.

A T. Nagar shop or jeweller plays on Instagram: Reels, map tags and a WhatsApp next step. A component maker near Sriperumbudur plays on LinkedIn, with proof of work. A D2C (direct-to-consumer) brand pairs Reels with codes it can count.

  1. Choose the language post by post. Chennai buyers read offers in Tamil and hiring posts in English. A language plan.
  2. Build the calendar from festivals. Ayudha Pooja, Deepavali and Margazhi move buying. Drafts ready weeks ahead.
  3. Boost only posts that already work. Money behind a weak post is wasted. A short list of posts to back.
  4. Report calls and footfall. Likes do not pay bills. A monthly report.

AI in social media: today and next

Today: Tamil on Instagram Reels

Meta says its AI translation for Reels now lists Tamil on Instagram. It translates, dubs in a voice like the creator's, lip-syncs only if the creator turns that on, and labels each reel "Translated with Meta AI".

/ 06 Cost

What affects the cost of social media marketing in Chennai.

No price list. These things move the number.

There is no price list on this site. We quote against a written scope you can check line by line.

What affects the cost

  • Languages. Tamil and English mean two sets of captions and a Tamil check.
  • Platforms. LinkedIn alone takes less time than Instagram, Facebook and YouTube.
  • Festival weeks. Extra posts and quicker replies.
  • Video. Staff-filmed clips cost less than an edited shoot.
  • Events. A Book Fair stall or trade show adds posts.

How we quote

  1. A half-hour call about your buyers, languages and apps.
  2. A look at your pages and two or three Chennai rivals.
  3. A quote within 2 working days, each item on its own line.

What you get in the quote

  • Platforms, posts and videos a month
  • The Tamil and English split, and who checks the Tamil
  • A monthly report, with ad spend on its own line

Ad money is paid to the apps at actual cost. Ongoing work has a 3-month minimum, then 30 days' notice. Compare quotes on posts covered, who writes the Tamil and how fast comments get a reply.

/ 07 What happens next

What happensafter you ask.

Social media for your Chennai business

Deepavali is on 8 November.Share your pages with us this week.

Or leave your number. A strategist calls you in one working day.

We use these details only to call you back. Privacy notice.

Straight answers.

  • Chennai accounts are looked after by our servicing team, which is based in cities across India. We work hybrid and remotely, visit you in Chennai regularly, and work at your shop or plant when a job needs it. A short monthly report shows what brought calls, visits and orders.

  • We plan for Tamil, because most of Chennai reads it first. Offers and festival greetings usually go out in Tamil, LinkedIn posts often in English. Our language partners write the Tamil, and we agree who checks every caption first. Replies to Tamil comments follow the same rule.

  • For a few greetings and offer posts, yes, if we start this week. A full campaign with a shoot is too tight. Deepavali on 8 November gives about five weeks, enough to plan properly. We would start with Ayudha Pooja greetings and use them to learn which posts your Chennai followers like.

  • It picks the apps you should be on and what to say there, writes and designs posts, answers comments, runs paid boosts and reports what brought enquiries. You approve every post and own your pages. We also set a monthly calendar around festivals and sales.

  • Saves, shares and messages usually pick up within six to eight weeks. A steady flow of calls or orders takes three to six months, and longer for firms that sell to other businesses. We confirm the timeline in the quote.

  • Ongoing work has a 3-month minimum. After that you can stop with 30 days' notice. You keep your accounts, logins and files. Ad money is paid to the apps at actual cost and shown on its own line in the monthly report. Before you sign, we write down the scope so you know what the three months cover.

  • We won't make that claim, and you should question anyone who does. Ask each agency for work in your trade with numbers you can check, and who writes and checks the Tamil. Also ask what it will report each month: calls and orders, or only likes and follows.

  • Often your own staff can film short clips on a phone, and our team edits them. For a planned shoot, we write the shot list and brief the crew. Our in-house team of 65+ people shoots, with partner agencies where a job needs them.
