UX audit

Screens people understand on the first try, for Kolkata websites, apps and software. Tested with real users before anything is built.
A strategist calls you in one working day.
A screen that puzzles people loses them before the first click. PromotEdge researches, wireframes, prototypes and tests websites, apps and software screens for Kolkata institutes, retailers and tech firms, so more of your visitors finish what they came to do: enquire, book, pay or sign up.
UX (user experience) is how easily someone gets a task done. UI (user interface) is how the screens look: buttons, type, colour and spacing. We design the two together, because a beautiful screen with a confusing flow still loses customers.
The leaks are usually in plain sight: an admission form with thirty fields on a phone, a checkout that shows the delivery charge last. We start with logic and evidence. We watch real people use your screens, fix the biggest leaks first and test again. Ongoing tuning sits with our conversion optimisation team. The national method is on UI/UX design.

Interviews and usability tests with people like your buyers, run by our in-house team.
Clickable prototypes you can try on your own phone before a line of code is written.
Final screens for phone, tablet and desktop in your brand colours, with type that holds up in every script.
A shared library of buttons, forms and rules, so developers build consistent screens faster.
When the fix needs a new site, our Kolkata web team builds it and checks every screen before launch.

Before drawing a screen we ask who will use it, on what device and in which language. In Kolkata, those answers change the design.
Three scripts in one city. Kolkata district's 2011 Census shows three main mother tongues: Bengali (61.45%), Hindi (22.84%) and Urdu (13.04%). A layout tested only in English often breaks when Bengali text goes in: labels wrap, buttons overflow. We design with real text in every language.
A city of phones. TRAI's Kolkata service area had 24.91 million telephone subscribers at the end of March 2026, and only 6.07% were rural. Most people will meet your product on a phone first, so we design for one thumb: large tap targets, short forms and the main action within reach.
Admissions are won on screens. Every institute competes for the same applicants, and the journey from course page to fees to the application form decides who applies. Tech teams need product-grade UX too: Global Capability Centres in Kolkata employ more than 40,000 people, most in Sector V and New Town. Their dashboards and onboarding flows need a design system and regular sprints alongside developers.
| Factor | Kolkata detail | For your design |
|---|---|---|
| Scripts | Bengali has its own script, Hindi uses Devanagari and Urdu uses Perso-Arabic, written right to left. | Choose fonts with full Bengali and Devanagari support, test the longest labels, and mirror layouts if you add Urdu. |
| Town and village | West Bengal including Kolkata had 106.40 internet subscribers per 100 people in urban areas and 45.58 in rural areas (TRAI, March 2026). | If users include parents or dealers from the districts, keep pages light and let forms save progress. |
| Education | IIM Calcutta was India's first IIM (1961). In NIRF 2025, Jadavpur University ranked 9th among universities and the University of Calcutta 39th. | Course finders, fee pages and application forms deserve a usability test before every intake. |
| Tech hubs | The Sector V electronics complex, set up in 1989, had over 200 IT and ITeS companies by 2019. New Town is the city's second IT hub. | Business users expect product-grade dashboards, with onboarding and settings screens to match. |
| Festival peaks | Durga Puja 2026 ran from Mahalaya on 10 October to Dashami on 21 October. The Federal estimated the 2025 Puja economy at about ₹65,000 crore, about 70% of it in Kolkata. | Shops and booking sites see their heaviest use in Puja weeks. Test checkout early, then freeze design changes. |

A meeting in Sector V or at your office about goals, users and where people give up today.
Analytics, session recordings and quick user tests, ranked by what each problem costs you.
Wireframes, then a clickable prototype of the fixed journey to try on your own phone.
A handful of users from your market try the prototype, and we fix whatever trips them up.
Final screens, a design system and developer notes, then a review of the live build.

A shop wants a short checkout. An institute wants a clear path from course page to fees to form. A software firm wants onboarding that a new user finishes in one sitting.
Figma Make builds functional prototypes and interactive UI from a written prompt. Figma advises attaching design frames rather than images, building step by step, and says mobile output is still being improved and complex layouts may need more prompting.

Our view: AI will make first drafts quick. Real Kolkata users still decide whether a draft works, and a Bengali reader still checks the text. Want us to review a screen? Ask us.
We use AI to save your team's time. A person still makes the decision.

A UX audit, a redesign or an app design is quoted after we see your screens. We send the quote within 2 working days.
Ask any UX agency whether real users test the design before hand-over, and who owns the design files afterwards.
For projects we think we can help, this is how it goes.
In one working day: a 30-minute call with one of our strategists about your business and what is not working.
A short, honest plan: what to fix first and what we would do. It is free.
If you want to go ahead, we send a quote within 2 working days.

Yes. Our designers lay out the screens and our language partners write the Bengali and Hindi text. We plan for Bengali, Hindi and English from the first wireframe, pick fonts that support each script, and test the longest labels so nothing breaks later.
UX decides the journey: which steps a user takes, and in what order. UI decides how each screen looks. A Salt Lake institute's admission flow needs both: the right few steps, and buttons an applicant can read at a glance.
By early September. In 2026, Puja ran from Mahalaya on 10 October to Dashami on 21 October, when shops and booking sites are busiest. Changing a checkout inside that window is a risk few businesses need, so freeze the design first.
Start with the UX audit. The biggest losses often sit on a handful of pages, and fixing those costs far less than a new site. If the audit shows the structure itself is broken, we will say so and plan the redesign.
