“People add to cart, then leave at checkout.”
Surprise delivery charges, a forced sign-up or a slow payment page. We show the full price early and keep guest checkout open.

Online stores that open fast on a phone and take UPI and cash on delivery, and turn visits into paid orders.
A strategist calls you in one working day.
A store with plenty of visits and few paid orders has a checkout problem, not a traffic problem. PromotEdge builds online stores on Shopify, WooCommerce or custom code, so more phone shoppers finish checkout and order again.
Choose this over our wider website design and development when the site must take money. Our ecommerce marketing brings the shoppers and runs Amazon and Flipkart.
It fits direct-to-consumer (D2C) brands, retail and jewellery, online pharmacies, real estate suppliers selling tiles or fittings by catalogue and industrial companies with dealer ordering. If most sales come through Amazon or Flipkart, your own store lets repeat buyers order directly.
| Part | What we do | What you receive |
|---|---|---|
| Platform choice | Compare Shopify (hosted, monthly plan), WooCommerce (free WordPress plugin, you own the code) and custom code (dealer portals, ERP links; ERP is software for stock and accounts, plus dispatch) | A written choice, with running costs |
| Catalogue and product pages | Categories, filters, variants and a SKU list (one product in one size, colour or pack); photos, delivery date, size help, return terms | Site map, product sheet, phone-tested template |
| Payments and COD | An Indian gateway for UPI (Unified Payments Interface), cards and net banking; COD rules by pin code and order value | A tested checkout, refunds included |
| GST invoices | GSTIN and HSN codes, plus tax rates set per delivery state | Invoices your accountant has checked |
| Shipping and stock, plus tracking | Courier, pin-code checks, return flow; stock across store, Amazon, Flipkart and ERP; GA4 (Google Analytics 4) events and ad pixels | One stock count; sales traced to source |
| Policy pages and launch | Seller, grievance officer, return, refund and shipping pages; a dark-pattern check; every login in your company's name | Policy drafts for your lawyer; a live store and handover guide |
Platform plans and apps, plus courier charges, are billed at actuals in your company's name. Shopify's India pricing page says extra transaction fees may apply with a third-party payment gateway (checked 4 October 2026).
“People add to cart, then leave at checkout.”
Surprise delivery charges, a forced sign-up or a slow payment page. We show the full price early and keep guest checkout open.
“Too many cash-on-delivery orders come back unopened.”
A refused COD (cash on delivery) parcel costs shipping both ways (couriers call it RTO, return to origin). We add WhatsApp confirmation and pin-code checks, with COD limits and a reason to pay online.
“Our store looks lovely on a laptop and crawls on a phone.”
Heavy images and sliders, and many apps, are the culprits. We set a page-weight limit and test on mid-range Android phones.
“Our accountant fixes every invoice by hand.”
The store should issue GST (goods and services tax) invoices with the right tax per delivery state. We check samples with your accountant.
“Stock on Amazon and on our site never matches.”
We connect store, marketplaces, warehouse and courier to one stock count, with automatic order messages.
“Our product pages get visits but few sales.”
Photos and size help, the delivery date and return terms must answer what a shopkeeper would.

It is not a checkout store. We built the marketplace site for Desi Machines, a PromotEdge group company (no figures shared).
Tell us what’s not working. We’ll send you an honest one-page growth plan, free.
Products, margins, order volume and couriers, plus accounts software. We agree what a good first month looks like.
Categories and variants, plus the product sheet. Late photos and copy are the usual reason a launch slips.
Home, category, product, cart and checkout screens, phone width first, approved by you.
Store, payments, invoices, courier, stock sync and tracking, on a private staging site.
Real orders on real phones: UPI, card, COD, a refund and a return.
A close watch on checkout drop-off. WooCommerce takes a few weeks longer, custom builds months: planning ranges, not promises.
The Consumer Protection (E-Commerce) Rules, 2020 ask for your legal name and address, customer care contacts, and a grievance officer who acknowledges a complaint within 48 hours and resolves it within one month. Prices show as one total, and consent to buy is a clear action, never a pre-ticked box. Amendments notified in September 2026, in force from 1 January 2027, add a "prior price" (the lowest price in the 30 days before a cut) and a yearly dark-pattern self-audit with a displayed certificate. Dark patterns are checkout tricks, such as a fake "only 2 left" or charges shown only at the last step. For GST, an order of ₹50,000 or more to an unregistered buyer needs the buyer's name and delivery address, with the state. Your lawyer and accountant confirm what applies.

A D2C brand focuses on checkout and COD rules. A dealer-led manufacturer may need a login-only portal with dealer prices and bulk ordering. A marketplace seller needs stock sync with Amazon and Flipkart. A subscription brand needs a subscription app.
Shopify's help page calls Sidekick an AI commerce assistant in the Shopify admin that can write product descriptions and edit products, and analyse data. It says it presents changes for your review before applying them.

Our view: first drafts will get faster. Photos, prices, return terms and the checkout still need a person to decide.

We confirm the store timeline in the quote, sent within 2 working days. Platform plans, apps, gateway and courier fees are third-party costs, billed at actuals, and you see each before you approve.

A typical website takes 4 to 6 weeks. Contracts start at 3 months, with 30 days' notice to stop.

Rahul MishraAssistant Manager Digital Marketing & Ecommerce at Magik LightingIt depends on the platform, the number of products and the integration and design work. Running costs matter as much as the build: platform plan, apps, hosting, gateway and courier fees. We list every monthly third-party cost before you approve.
Shopify, if you want to launch fast without managing hosting. WooCommerce, if the store sits inside a large WordPress site or you want to own the code. Custom code, only for needs the other two handle badly, such as a login-only dealer portal.
Yes. An Indian payment gateway handles UPI, cards, net banking and wallets. COD runs on your own rules, such as an order value limit or blocked pin codes. We compare gateway fees and settlement times for your volume, and test every payment mode before launch.
As general guidance, not tax advice: rule 46 of the CGST Rules, 2017 lists it. A tax invoice shows your name and address, your GSTIN, a unique serial number and date, HSN codes, taxable value, the tax rate and amount, and the place of supply. Your accountant confirms the set-up.
As general guidance, not legal advice: a brand selling its own stock online is an "inventory e-commerce entity" under the Consumer Protection (E-Commerce) Rules, 2020. The store shows its legal name, address, a grievance officer and clear total prices. Amendments from 1 January 2027 add more, set out in the rules fold on this page.
We won't claim that; nobody can honestly say it. Ask each company if GST invoices and COD rules are included, with test refunds. Who owns the accounts and code? Can you click through a test site before launch? A reliable company answers all three in writing, before you pay.
You don't need one nearby. A store project runs on video calls and a private staging site, and reviews and test orders, plus the handover, all happen on screen. Our servicing team is based in cities across India, talks to you daily and visits regularly.
Our published work includes a marketplace site, not a checkout store: Desi Machines, our group company (no figures shared). Tell us your platform and product category on a call, and we share the closest store work we can talk about.
