/ 01 Explainer videos

Say it once,clearly.

A product that needs the same explanation on every call needs a better explainer. PromotEdge scripts and makes 60 to 90 second films around the questions your buyers really ask, so they get your product fast.

Here is what we usually see: every salesperson explains it differently, and visitors still phone to ask what it does. Explainers suit a finance scheme, a machine with a new feature a software tool, a healthcare product or a real estate scheme.

A buyer wants four answers, in order: what problem it solves, how it works, why trust it, what next. For the whole company, see video production; for fuller work, 2D animation or 3D animation.

/ 03 What usually gets in the way

What usually gets in the way,and the way through.

“Our sales team explains the same thing on every call, each differently.”

A 90-second film gives every salesperson the same clear answer to send before or after the call.

“People visit the product page, then phone to ask what it does.”

An explainer near the top of the page answers the first question before the visitor reaches for the phone.

“Our product is new, and nobody searches for it by name.”

A short film that starts from the buyer's problem beats a list of features.

“Dealers in smaller towns don't read our brochures.”

A short film in the dealer's language, sent on WhatsApp, is far more likely to be watched and passed on.

“Users drop off at sign-up because they don't get how the app works.”

A walkthrough of the first three steps, shown at the right moment, can cut the drop-off. We set it up so you can measure it.

We believe in process. Good results should repeat, not happen by luck.

/ 04 How it is made

From buyer questionsto a finished film.

A typical schedule for a 60 to 90 second animated explainer, with voice-over written at 130 to 150 words a minute. Live action depends on the shoot date.

  1. 01

    Days 1-3: buyer questions

We talk to your sales or support team and list the questions buyers ask most.

  2. 02

    Weeks 1-2: script

Read aloud and timed. You approve the words before anything is drawn.

  3. 03

    Weeks 2-3: storyboard and style

Rough frames for each line, plus one or two finished frames that set colour and drawing style.

  4. 04

    Week 3: voice-over

A voice artist chosen from samples, recorded in each language you need.

  5. 05

    Weeks 3-5: animation

Animated to the recorded voice, with one round of changes to motion and timing.

  6. 06

    Weeks 5-6: finish and versions

Music, effects, subtitles and the shorter or vertical cuts, placed on your page or in your ads.

More on this

How we deliver it, and why

How your business model changes the plan

A software (SaaS) firm needs a screen walkthrough of the first three steps. A dealer-led B2B (business to business) maker needs a short film dealers can forward on WhatsApp.

A D2C (direct to consumer) brand needs a 15-second version for ads. A finance scheme suits a 2D character story.

Who sets the rules

When an explainer runs as an ad, its claims fall under the ASCI Code. ASCI says it was formed in 1985 by advertising and media professionals to keep Indian ads decent, fair and honest.

  1. Start from the questions buyers ask. A film that answers them in order gets watched. A ranked list from your sales team.
  2. Write the script before any drawing. Words are cheap to change; animation is not. A timed script you approve.
  3. Show one finished frame first. Colour and style are settled before the long work. One or two style frames.
  4. Record the voice before animating. Motion is timed to the real voice, so it needs no re-timing. A voice track in each language.
  5. Add subtitles and vertical cuts. Many people watch on mute, on phones. Square and vertical versions.

AI in explainer videos: today and next

Today

Runway says you can generate and edit video, images and audio in one workspace, with a video model it calls Gen-4.5. ElevenLabs says it dubs into 90+ languages, Hindi included.

We would use both for rough animatics and trial voice tracks. We would not use them for the final film without a person checking every claim and every translated line.

/ 05 Cost

What an explainercosts.

Explainers are quoted per film, for an agreed length and style. Extra languages and cuts are priced per version.

What affects the cost

  • Length: every extra 30 seconds adds script, drawing and animation time
  • Style: motion graphics usually cost less than character animation
  • Custom illustration, or adapted stock characters
  • Live-action shoot days, if any
  • The voice artist, and the number of languages
  • Change rounds after the storyboard, and extra cuts

How we quote

  1. We ask what the film must explain, to whom, and where it plays
  2. We read your deck or product notes and suggest a style
  3. We fix length, style and change rounds in writing
  4. You get a quote within 2 working days, each extra language or cut on its own line

What you get in the quote

  • Script, written to the agreed length
  • Storyboard, with change rounds
  • Illustration or motion graphics in the chosen style
  • Voice artist and the first language recording
  • The master film and the extra cuts you asked for

Stock music and stock illustrations carry their own licences, and those costs are shown separately.

Straight answers.

  • Length, style and languages set the price. A 60-second motion-graphics film usually costs less than a 90-second character animation, and live action adds shoot costs. We do not publish a price list; ask for a fixed price per film with change rounds written in.

  • Usually 60 to 90 seconds for a product page and under 30 seconds for an ad. If the script won't fit in 90 seconds, the film is probably explaining two things. Make it two films, because two clear films beat one crowded one and each can sit in a different place.

  • Five to six weeks is typical for an animated explainer, mostly on script and storyboard. Quick approvals on your side shorten it more than anything we can do. Longer scripts, live action and extra language versions add time. We confirm the timeline in the quote.

  • Yes. The voice is re-recorded and the on-screen text changed, while the animation stays. Timing shifts a little because some languages run longer, so we check each version. Our language partners cover English, Hindi, Bengali, Gujarati, Marathi, Tamil, Telugu, Kannada and more.

  • Near the top of the product page, in sales emails and WhatsApp follow-ups, and as a short ad. It also works on mute at a trade-fair stall and in onboarding for customers or dealers. Cut a 20-second version for ads, and a captioned one for mute viewing.

  • You should own the final film. Stock music, stock drawings and voice artists come with licences. Check that they cover every place you plan to use the film, including paid ads, before you sign off. Ask for the licence details in writing and keep them with the files.

  • Use short films that answer one buyer question each. Put them where the deal moves: the product page, the first sales email and the WhatsApp follow-up. Busy buyers rarely watch long brand films to the end, but they will watch a short answer to their own question.

  • Pick one number before you start: fewer 'what does it do' calls, more sign-ups or more enquiries from the page, and note today's figure. When it runs as an ad, our performance marketing team reports views, enquiries and the cost per qualified lead.
