/ 01 ESG report design

A report that is easy to read, and easy to check.

Investors, rating teams and customers open an ESG report to find numbers fast. PromotEdge is a sustainability report design agency for listed and large companies.

Your ESG and finance teams and auditors decide what is disclosed. We design it so it is clear, accurate to your data and ready by the date.

To be plain about roles: your teams write and approve every disclosure, number and claim. We do not write disclosures or give assurance. We design the tables, charts, icons, accessible PDF, print and web editions, and the sign-off plan with dates.

For listed companies, SEBI's Master Circular of 11 July 2023 sets a rule. From FY 2022-23, the top 1000 listed entities by market capitalisation have to submit a Business Responsibility and Sustainability Report (BRSR). It must be in the format SEBI specifies. Other listed entities can submit one voluntarily. Rules change, so confirm the latest with your company secretary. SEBI Master Circular, read 10 October 2026.

/ 03 What usually gets in the way

What usually gets in the way,and the way through.

“Data arrives late, in pieces.”

We count back from your publish date and design on last year's numbers marked as draft. A data-freeze date is fixed in week 1, and new numbers drop in after it.

“Many people contribute: plants, HR, CSR, finance.”

One tracker lists who sends which table, by when. Each section has one owner on your side and one on ours.

“Compliance and legal review rounds keep changing pages.”

Charts and tables draw from one data sheet, so a change is made once. Every round is a marked proof with a change log.

“The report reads like a government form.”

Long tables get a clear order, trends become charts, and icons help readers find a topic. Every figure still matches your signed data.

“Print and web look and work differently.”

We set up one master and cut a tagged PDF with bookmarks and alt text, a light phone edition and a print file.

“The same number differs in the annual report, BRSR and website.”

A cross-check list sets each figure against its source. We never change a number; we flag a mismatch to your owner.

Our beliefWe start with logic and your numbers, not with ideas we happen to like.

/ 04 How we work

Back from thepublish date.

As planning guidance, a full report usually takes 10 to 14 weeks, mostly waiting for data and reviews. That is a range, not a promise. We confirm the timeline in the quote. We believe in process, so next year's report starts from this year's master. Our servicing team is based in cities across India.

  1. 01

    Brief and calendar (week 1)

Publish date, review rounds and sign-off names. We count back and give every section an owner and a date.

  2. 02

Design system (weeks 1 to 3)

Grid, chart style, icons and accessibility rules.

  3. 03

    Data sheet and tracker

One sheet holds every figure. A tracker shows what is in, what is late and who is chasing it.

  4. 04

    Layout on draft numbers

Pages are designed early with draft figures marked. At the data freeze, signed numbers replace them.

  5. 05

    Review rounds

Marked proofs go to compliance, legal and auditors.

  6. 06

    Final files

Tagged PDF, web and phone editions and print files. We freeze them after sign-off and keep the master for next year.

How we deliver it, and why

How your business model changes the plan

A listed company works to the annual report calendar, with the BRSR in SEBI's format. A large unlisted company chooses its own structure for lenders and buyers. An exporter in the micro, small and medium (MSME) sector often needs a short report or data sheet that an overseas buyer can open on a phone.

AI in ESG report design: today and next

Microsoft says Copilot in Excel can create charts and PivotTables and spot insights. Google says Gemini in Sheets can build tables and charts, and that its suggestions can be inaccurate. Adobe says Acrobat AI Assistant summarises long PDFs with page citations, and advises checking them against the source.

Our view: use AI for draft charts and reviewer summaries. AI must not write disclosure numbers. Your signed data sheet is the source. Ask us where AI fits

Source: Microsoft Support, Google Workspace Help and Adobe, read 10 October 2026

  1. Fix one data sheet. A figure changed once stays right in every table and chart. A signed sheet.
  2. Design on draft numbers. Late data then moves a number, not a page. Marked draft pages.
  3. Check on screen and on paper. A chart that reads well on a monitor can fail on a phone or in print. Proofs in each edition.
  4. Keep a change log. Reviewers see what changed, and who asked. A log with each proof.

/ 05 Cost

What affects the cost ofan ESG report design.

We do not publish a price list, because a 24-page report and a 120-page report with a web edition differ a lot. The smallest first step is a free 30-minute call with a strategist and a one-page plan, for projects we think we can help.

What affects the cost

  • Page count and number of data tables and charts
  • Editions: print, PDF, web, phone, short report
  • How much of your text we edit for layout and style
  • Plant photography, if needed
  • Review rounds and how late the final data arrives
  • Print quantity, paper and finish, quoted separately

How we quote

  1. You tell us the publish date, last year's report and who signs off
  2. We send the quote within 2 working days, each cost on its own line
  3. You approve it before work starts

What you get in the quote

  • A calendar, tracker and change log
  • Design with the agreed number of review rounds
  • Accessible PDF and the editions you choose
  • Print-ready files, if you print

The more involved your team is, the faster the report moves. Compare quotes on the same page count, editions and review rounds. Not sure where to start? Talk to us.

/ 06 What happens next

What happensafter you ask.

For projects we think we can help, this is how it goes.

  1. 01

    A strategist calls you

In one working day: a 30-minute call with one of our strategists about your business and what is not working.

  2. 02

    You get a 1-page plan

A short, honest plan: what to fix first and what we would do. It is free.

  3. 03

A quote, if you want one

If you want to go ahead, we send a quote within 2 working days.

We confirm the timeline in the quote. Contracts start at 3 months, with 30 days' notice to stop.

Straight answers.

  • ESG stands for environmental, social and governance. An ESG report tells investors, lenders and customers how a company handles energy, people, safety and how it is run. It is also called a sustainability report. Your team supplies the content, and we make it clear to read.

  • We design. Your ESG, finance and company secretary teams, with auditors, decide and approve every disclosure. We lay out the BRSR as SEBI specifies, and we edit for layout and style only if you ask. We do not give assurance, and we never change a figure.

  • It depends on page count, charts, editions and review rounds. We quote against a written scope after one conversation, within 2 working days, each cost on its own line. The first step is a free 30-minute call with a strategist.

  • As planning guidance, 10 to 14 weeks for a full report, mostly waiting for data. We need last year's report, the publish date, data owners and sign-off names. We confirm the timeline in the quote. Late data is the usual delay.

  • Usually a PDF first, because it is the official copy, and a lighter web or phone edition. Print only as many copies as you will really hand out. We build all editions from one master so numbers match. The PDF is made accessible.

  • Yes. Our servicing team is based in cities across India. We work hybrid and remotely, visit regularly and, when a job needs it, our team works at your site. Reviews run on video calls and marked proofs, so no one travels for every round.

  • No published case of ours is an ESG report, so we show none here. We share relevant work and the calendar we would use in the first conversation. You can also read what our clients say about working with us on other jobs.
