/ 01 Advertising agency in Surat

A city of fabric, diamondsand very busy festivals.

In Surat one paper can split the city into three editions. FM is booked station by station and hoardings are sold by municipal tender, so booking on a guess wastes money.

PromotEdge picks, writes and books newspaper, radio, hoarding and online ads for fabric traders, diamond firms, shops and schools. Then you can see which booking brought which enquiry.

Where the work happens. We have worked with Indian brands since 2015, and our servicing team is based in cities across India. Most of the work runs online, in hybrid mode, with an in-house team of 65+ behind it. We talk with you every day, and come to Surat to meet you at least once every three months. When a job needs it, a team member works from your site.

How we'd start. Small: one edition, one radio station and a separate phone number for each. After two weeks we read the calls together.

Our general method is on the advertising service page, and the city itself is in the Surat overview.

  • 2015working with Indian brands since

  • 4pillars under one roof: strategy, advertising, digital, on-ground activation (BTL)

/ 03 What is different in Surat

Six things to know before you book Surat media.

Each point rests on a public source, read on 4 October 2026. The first two are here; four more are in the fold below.

1. One paper splits the city three ways. On 4 October 2026, Divya Bhaskar's e-paper listed three Surat editions: "Surat", "Surat City Bhaskar" and "Surat Saurastra Samachar". Ask which areas each one serves, and book only those your buyers read.

2. The city sells hoarding rights by tender. Outdoor, or OOH (out of home), means ads seen outside the home. SMC (Surat Municipal Corporation, the city's elected local government) offers hoarding rights through e-tenders, which are bids made online. On 4 October 2026 its list showed 18 open hoarding tenders. Nine East Zone (Varachha) packages were on their sixth or seventh attempt, so earlier rounds did not close a deal. We found no published SMC fee list or LED screen rules, so we ask for both in writing.

Who this is for, and four more public facts: the old papers, audited sales, FM and the crowds.

The Surat market for advertising

Who this is for. Fabric wholesalers, jewellers, shops and coaching institutes. SGCCI, the city's chamber of commerce, says about 60% of India's man-made fabric comes from Surat. Diamond firms got a new trading hub when the Surat Diamond Bourse opened on 17 December 2023. Our jewellery, fashion and apparel and education pages show how each buyer decides. We know digital inside out, and we think like an Indian business.

3. One of the papers dates from 1863. Gujaratmitra, a Gujarati daily, says on its website that it was "established in 1863", and the site has a Surat section. Gujarat Samachar and Sandesh both list Surat editions too.

4. Few Surat papers have audited sales. The ABC (Audit Bureau of Circulations) checks how many copies its member papers sell. Its list has only two Surat rows: Divya Bhaskar in Gujarati and Rajasthan Patrika in Hindi. Gujarat Samachar and Sandesh are not members, which does not make them weak. A small trial ad is the fair test.

5. Six private FM stations, plus Vividh Bharati. The broadcasting ministry's list of 30 March 2026 puts six private stations in Surat, at 91.1, 91.9, 92.7, 94.3, 95.0 and 98.3 MHz (the numbers on your radio dial). Akashvani adds Vividh Bharati Surat on 101.1 MHz, but no FM Rainbow channel.

6. Many buyers arrive by bus, by plane or for a fair. SMC runs 450 electric buses (data of 30 April 2026). The airport handled 18,14,572 passengers in 2025-26, and its international traffic grew 31.1%. Traders also come for fairs at SIECC, the exhibition centre built by SGCCI. These are audiences, not ad space we can promise. Below: what we do with each.

/ 04 Surat's media and rules

Papers, stations, tendersand crowds, with sources.

Surat has Gujarati papers booked by edition and hoardings sold by city tender. Try one medium with a small ad and its own phone number, then drop what does not pay. Ask who holds a hoarding's rights before you book.

Gujaratmitra (Gujarati daily)Its own site says "established in 1863" and carries a Surat section. We ask the paper for its own figures and rate card.
Gujarat Samachar and SandeshBoth e-papers list a Surat edition. Neither is an ABC member.A small trial ad first, with its own phone number.
Divya Bhaskar (Gujarati daily)Three Surat editions on 4 October 2026, plus Bardoli Vyara, Navsari and Vapi. An ABC member.Booked by edition, not the whole cluster by habit.

Sources as cited, checked 4 October 2026. Papers and stations are named because they serve Surat, not because they work with us. Rupee figures are the government's 2017 radio card, not PromotEdge prices. Outdoor rows are general guidance, not legal advice. The steps below show how we use this list.

/ 06 How a Surat campaign runs

From the first callto the cost of each enquiry.

More steps are in the fold below.

  1. 01

What you sell, and to whom

On a video call: retail or wholesale, local or visiting buyers, and your key season.

  2. 02

    Editions and hours

A media sheet naming each paper edition, station and hour, with a reason for each.

The rest of the steps, from rights to the count at the end.

How the work runs in Surat

Rights before boards

For each hoarding, the SMC rights holder and the end date of its right, in writing.

Your written yes, then booking

Nothing is booked before you approve. After release: each printed page, each station's airing log and dated photos of every board.

Count, then cut

Each medium gets its own phone number or QR code. You and we read the calls, then scale what paid and drop the rest.

/ 07 Cost

What affects the cost of advertising in Surat.

We don't publish prices. After a first 30-minute call with one of our strategists, we write the scope and quote against it. Space, airtime and site rights are billed at the owner's rate, shown before you approve.

What affects the cost

  • How many editions. One Surat edition is a smaller booking than three, and Bardoli, Navsari or Vapi add more.
  • Who holds the site. Each board's rate comes from whoever won SMC's tender for it, so Adajan and Varachha can differ.
  • Fair and festival weeks. Navratri, Diwali and SITEX week book up early.

How we quote

  1. A first call on what you sell, to whom, and in which part of Surat, then a written plan of editions, stations, sites and online ads
  2. A written quote by line within 2 working days of the first call, which you can trim; nothing is booked before your written yes

What you get in the quote

  • Each paper and edition, with language, size and release date
  • Each hoarding, with its SMC rights holder and the date that right ends

How it is billed

Way of workingWhen it fits
One seasonA Navratri-to-Diwali push or a fair week, with fixed dates; timeline confirmed in the quote
Year-roundReleases across the trade calendar, with a monthly enquiry report; minimum 3 months, 30 days' notice to stop
/ 08 What happens next

What happensafter you ask.

For projects we think we can help, this is how it goes.

  1. 01

    A strategist calls you

In one working day: a 30-minute call with one of our strategists about your business and what is not working.

  2. 02

    You get a 1-page plan

A short, honest plan: what to fix first and what we would do. It is free.

  3. 03

A quote, if you want one

If you want to go ahead, we send a quote within 2 working days.

We confirm the timeline in the quote. Contracts start at 3 months, with 30 days' notice to stop.

Straight answers.

  • A servicing team based in cities across India works with you, and most of the work runs online, in hybrid mode. Our team visits Surat clients at least once every three months to review results and plan. When a job needs it, one of us works from your office or plant.

  • Go by who buys. The district administration says Surti Gujarati is the language mostly spoken in the city. Its district page lists Hindi, Marathi, Telugu and Oriya too. So shop offers usually start in Gujarati, while English suits exporters. Our language partners write all three, and other languages for buyers abroad.

  • Pick the paper and the edition first. Divya Bhaskar alone has three Surat editions, so ask which one your buyers read. Then choose the size, colour and day, and send the artwork before the deadline. We can handle all of it and keep the printed page as proof.

  • Yes, through whoever holds SMC's advertising right for that site. SMC awards those rights by online tender; 18 were open on 4 October 2026. Ask for the holder's agreement with SMC and its end date before you pay. This is general guidance, not legal advice. Mounting is delivered with the same partner.

  • Early. The district's culture page calls Navratri "the most important festival". Gujarat's 2026 holiday list puts Dussehra on 20 October, Diwali on 8 November and Bestu Varas, the Gujarati New Year, on 10 November. SITEX '26 runs from 19 to 21 December 2026. Sweet shops also plan for Chandi Padvo, the day after Sharad Poornima, when Surtis eat ghari.

  • We won't claim that title. Judge any agency, us included, on three answers. Who holds the SMC right for each board they offer? Which Divya Bhaskar edition, and why? How will they count the calls each medium brings? Our guide to choosing an agency lists more questions.
