Two kinds of buyer. One website that works for both.

A website is judged on a phone screen before anyone reads a word. PromotEdge plans, writes, designs and builds websites for exporters, startups and local businesses, so that the right visitor finds you, trusts you and asks for a quote.

Chennai firms often sell two ways at once. A parts maker near Sriperumbudur may ship abroad, while a clinic in Anna Nagar sells to families down the road. Both judge you in seconds.

Design decides what a visitor sees and reads. Development is the code beneath it. One team does both, beside our SEO and ads teams.

Our servicing team is based in cities across India, works hybrid and remotely, and shows each stage on a private test link. See the national website design and development page and the Chennai overview. We build sites for Bangalore and Mumbai firms too.

/ 03 Who needs a better site here

Four public facts behind a Chennai website plan.

Each fact is from a public record, checked on 4 October 2026. The planning advice under it is ours.

1. A state that ships goods abroad. Tamil Nadu's goods exports reached $59.3 billion in FY26, up 13.7%, the fastest of any state, as DT Next reported from Commerce Ministry data. Kancheepuram, next to Chennai, came second among districts with $26.4 billion. Foreign buyers check specs and approvals before the first email.

2. Big plants, many small suppliers. Hyundai's SIPCOT Irungattukottai plant is part of its global export hub, its own site says. BMW has built cars at Mahindra World City since 2007. SIPCOT, the state's industrial land agency, has set up 50 parks since 1971. Purchase teams want part lists and certificates, not slogans.

3. A fast-growing startup base. Tamil Nadu had 14,830+ startups recognised by DPIIT (the central startup department) on 31 March 2026, up from 7,559 at the end of 2023. A young firm's site explains the product, shows progress to investors and helps hire.

4. Nearly everyone is online. TRAI, the telecom regulator, counted 67.73 million internet subscribers in Tamil Nadu in March 2026, 87.33 per 100 people, 65.93 million of them on broadband. Most visitors arrive on a phone, so a slow page loses them.

/ 06 How a Chennai project runs

Six stages, with a check at each one.

A company website usually takes 4 to 6 weeks. The more involved your team, the faster it goes live.

  1. 01

    Who is the site for?

Importers, purchase teams, investors or local families, and what one enquiry is worth to you.

  2. 02

    A page plan you sign

One reader and one task per page. You approve the list before design starts.

  3. 03

    Words in the right language

English in short, clear lines. Tamil, if needed, written fresh by our language partners.

  4. 04

    Pictures of your real work

Your plant, shop floor or team, not stock photos. Our team or a partner agency films it.

  5. 05

    Build and test

Every form gets a test enquiry, checked at the right inbox or WhatsApp number.

  6. 06

    Go live, then measure

We launch outside festival weeks and point old pages to new ones. What cannot be measured cannot be achieved, so you see enquiries and their source monthly.

Our beliefThink creative. Act on numbers.

More on this

How we deliver it, and why

  1. Ask what one good enquiry is worth. It tells us how much effort each page deserves. One number you can check later.
  2. Give each page one reader and one task. A page that tries to serve an importer and a family serves neither. A page plan with a task beside each page.
  3. Write Tamil fresh. A translated page reads like one, and a native reader spots it in a line. Tamil copy checked by a native reader.
  4. Test on a low-cost Android phone. Phones vary even where broadband is common. Speed results on a mid-range phone.

AI in website development: today and next

Today: drafts in Tamil

Google's Gemini help page lists Tamil, Hindi, Kannada and Telugu among supported languages. It makes no claim about accuracy. So AI can draft a Tamil page fast, and a native reader still checks tone, spelling and local words before it goes live.

Source: Google Gemini Apps Help, Supported languages, read 10 October 2026

Next

Our view: first drafts in more languages will keep getting faster. The page plan and the check by someone who knows your buyer will not change. Want us to look at your site? Ask us.

/ 07 Cost

What affects the cost of a Chennai website.

Cost follows the written scope. Domain, hosting, plugins, shoots and travel are charged at actuals, shown before you approve.

What affects the cost

  • Product ranges, plants or services that need a page of their own
  • Tamil pages as well as English, and who writes them
  • A parts finder, catalogue downloads or a dealer login
  • Technical sheets and certificates checked line by line
  • Photos and video of your plant or shop floor
  • Moving an old site while keeping its Google visits

How we quote

  1. A call about your buyers and the date that matters
  2. A written scope of pages and features, edited until it fits
  3. A quote within 2 working days, outside costs apart

What you get in the quote

  • Every page and language in the scope
  • Each form or login, and where enquiries go
  • Review rounds, and who owns the domain and code

Two quotes for 'a website' can cover very different work. Ask who writes the words and how many review rounds you get.

/ 08 What happens next

What happensafter you ask.

For projects we think we can help, this is how it goes.

  1. 01

    A strategist calls you

In one working day: a 30-minute call with one of our strategists about your business and what is not working.

  2. 02

    You get a 1-page plan

A short, honest plan: what to fix first and what we would do. It is free.

  3. 03

A quote, if you want one

If you want to go ahead, we send a quote within 2 working days.

A typical website takes 4 to 6 weeks. Contracts start at 3 months, with 30 days' notice to stop.

Brands and people are named only as public examples. They are not PromotEdge clients or endorsers unless stated.

Selling from Chennai to the world, or to your street?

Send us your website link. We'll show you what a new buyer notices first.

Or leave your number. A strategist calls you in one working day.

We use these details only to call you back. Privacy notice.

Straight answers.

  • Our servicing team is based in cities across India and works hybrid and remotely, on video calls and a test link. We visit Chennai at least once every three months, and place the team at your site if needed, with stages shown first.

  • We won't make that claim. Open two live sites each firm built, on your own phone. Ask who writes the words, whose name the domain and code sit in, and what support costs after launch. Pick the plainest answers, then ask us the same.

  • It turns your business goals into a working site: page plan, words, design, code, forms and tracking. A good one also tells you which pages bring enquiries and which exist for trust, and it shows you the numbers every month.

  • It depends on who buys. Our language partners write the Tamil pages. For local families, Tamil helps, since most people in the city speak it at home. Buyers abroad usually do fine with English. The shop-board rule does not apply to websites.

  • Show each product range with specs, standards and lead times, plus plant photos and an easy way to ask for a sample. Word every certificate as printed, and have your quality team check each claim. Foreign buyers read the small print, so keep it exact.

  • Only if the work is ready well before. Ayudha Pooja falls on 19 October and Deepavali on 8 November 2026, when sign-offs and fixes slow down. A quiet week is usually safer. We launch outside festival weeks and keep your old Google visits.

  • A company website usually takes 4 to 6 weeks to build. Visitors you send, by ads, emails or a QR code, can enquire in week one. Google visits build over months. Each month we show enquiries and their source, so you know what the site brings.
