Advertisingin Patna
Patna's outdoor market is being rebuilt, so a hoarding plan starts with one plain question: is this site legal? Each release is matched to the calls it brings.
A strategist calls you in one working day.
Right paper, right station, legal sites only.
Money spent on a medium picked before the buyer is a guess. PromotEdge plans, writes and books newspaper, radio, outdoor and fair-stall advertising for Bihar businesses, so that you can match each rupee of media to the enquiries it brought.
Our servicing team is based in cities across India and plans your campaign over calls and shared drafts. We visit Patna for planning, shoots and launch days, and can place our team at your site when a stall needs hands.
Patna's outdoor market is being rebuilt, so a hoarding plan starts with one question: is this site legal? We'd rather be blunt than pleasing. If a site is not legal, we do not book it.

Three things that change a Patna media plan.
Each point comes from a public record, checked on 4 October 2026.
1. Outdoor is starting again. In September 2017 the civic body took down every outdoor ad in Patna, because licences had lapsed. Bihar's 2023 rules now hand out sites by online tender. The Patna Municipal Corporation (PMC) estimates it has collected no ad fees since 2014; 22 court cases were pending in February 2026. A site without papers can vanish mid-campaign.
2. New city fees are proposed, not final. PMC's board approved draft regulations in February 2026: ₹1.5 lakh to register for three years, at least ₹50 per sq ft, and 25% extra at metro and airport sites. Nothing starts until the state approves. In March 2026 PMC told owners to register every hoarding. We ask for that registration before you pay.
3. Crowds gather in a few places, in a few weeks. Gandhi Maidan held two big fairs last December, with over 200 stalls at the book fair and 500 or more at the Saras Mela. This year Durga Puja holidays run 17 to 21 October, Diwali is on 8 November and Chhath on 15 and 16 November.
What you can book, and what you can't.
| Patna item | What the record shows | What we do with it |
|---|---|---|
| Hindi and English dailies | Hindustan, Dainik Jagran, Prabhat Khabar and Dainik Bhaskar print Patna editions; so do Hindustan Times and The Economic Times. All are ABC members. | Pick one or two by where your buyers live. |
| Private FM and Akashvani | Four stations on the ministry's 30 March 2026 list: 91.1, 93.5, 95.0 and 98.3 MHz. Akashvani's card (1 June 2017): Patna 621 kHz ₹660 per 10 seconds. Government rates, not ours. | Short bursts before a sale. We confirm today's rate before booking. |
| What is banned, and where | No ads for alcohol, tobacco or drugs. No ads within 25 m of traffic junctions, or near religious places, cremation grounds and World Heritage sites. | We strike these sites off before the shortlist reaches you. |
| Gandhi Maidan | Patna Book Fair, 5 to 16 December 2025. Bihar Saras Mela, 12 to 28 December 2025, with stalls from 25 states. | Stalls and sampling where families already walk. Ask about December early. |
Sources as cited in each row, checked 4 October 2026. PMC's regulations are a draft until the state approves them. Rates are government or third-party figures, never PromotEdge fees.
Five steps, one report at the end.
- 01
Start from your enquiries
On a video call we ask how many enquiries you get, from where, and which parts of Patna buy.
- 02
Choose media by language and area
Hindi, English or Urdu, which paper and station. Outdoor only if legal sites sit on your buyers' routes.
- 03
Check every site and rate
PMC registration, the banned-zone list and the owner's rate, all in writing before you approve.
- 04
Write, make and release
Press ads, radio scripts, hoarding artwork and stall material carrying one offer, with proof of each release.
- 05
Count what came back
We'd rather show you results than a nice presentation. A campaign-only number or code shows which ad worked, and your report gives the cost per lead (CPL): spend divided by enquiries.
Tell us what’s not working. We’ll send you an honest one-page growth plan, free.
How we deliver it, and why
How your business model changes the plan
A shop or dealer network leans on Hindi papers, FM and boards near the outlet. A school books before admission season. A builder needs English and Hindi press plus legal sites. A trade supplier may skip hoardings for trade press and search.
Who sets the rules for advertising in India
ASCI, the Advertising Standards Council of India, is the advertising industry's self-regulatory body, set up in 1985 by people in advertising and media. Our ads follow its standards.

- Start from your enquiry count. Without a starting number, no medium can be judged. Enquiries by source, in writing.
- Check the site before the rate. A site with no registration can come down mid-campaign. PMC registration and photos.
- Give every medium its own number or code. Then you can see what each rupee brought. A monthly cost per lead by medium.
- Move money towards what rings. Two or three releases tell you more than a plan on paper. A short list of what to repeat or drop.

Shop boards, halls and travel hubs
Patna Press reported on 15 June 2025 that shops need a municipal licence for brand ads seen from public spaces, with rates set by e-tender. For hoardings, owners record size, ward, GPS location and a structural certificate at PMC's Advertisement Cell. Bapu Sabhagar seats 5,000, Gyan Bhawan 800, and Hotel Maurya's halls include the 6,300 sq ft Kesariya. The airport handled 43,86,376 passengers in 2025-26, up 14.8% (AAI), and the first Metro stretch, about 3.6 km, opened on 6 October 2025.

Urdu print and Akashvani
Qaumi Tanzeem lists Patna, Ranchi and Lucknow editions, and Urdu has been Bihar's second official language since 1981. Akashvani's card (1 June 2017), per 10 seconds, also shows FM Rainbow 101.6 MHz at ₹550 and Vividh Bharati 102.5 MHz at ₹390.

AI in advertising: today and next
Today: Meta Advantage+
Meta says Advantage+ campaigns apply AI across audience, placement and budget automatically. That suits Facebook and Instagram ads for a shop or a school. Papers, radio and Patna's hoarding rules still need a person on the ground.

What affects the cost of advertising in Patna.
There is no PromotEdge price list online. We look at your business first, and the media second. Space, airtime, sites, printing, stall fees and travel are billed at actuals, shown before you approve.
What affects the cost
- Print: papers, languages, ad size, colour and days
- Radio: private FM, Akashvani or both, spot length and weeks
- Outdoor: site size, months booked, and PMC fees once the draft rules are settled
- Shop boards: the 2025 municipal licence, plus making and fixing
- Season and travel: Durga Puja, Diwali and Chhath weeks fill first
How we quote
- We talk about what you want: admissions, a launch or a festival sale

- Hoardings or shop boards, with months booked and municipal fees
- Proof of release for every ad, and photos of each site

Our servicing team is based in cities across India and serves Patna from there. We work hybrid and remote: calls and shared reports cover most of the job. We meet you in Patna at least once every three months, and come for planning, shoots and launch days.
-
Start with who buys from you. Families and shop customers mostly read the Hindi dailies. Firms and property buyers often read English. Urdu reaches readers who prefer it. Many plans run two versions of the same ad, written by our language partners and checked by our team.
-
Yes, on legal sites. The 2023 state rules ban liquor, tobacco and drug ads, and any site within 25 m of a traffic junction. PMC is registering every hoarding, and its new fees are only proposed. We book registered sites only. This is general guidance, not legal advice.
-
For Durga Puja, from 17 October 2026, good press dates and outdoor sites are mostly gone. Radio spots and small press ads can still be booked. Chhath, on 15 and 16 November, leaves about six weeks, enough for a press and FM plan. For next year, start talking to us by July.
-
Press and radio ads usually bring calls in the same week they run. Outdoor works more slowly, making your name familiar over a month or more. Judge a new plan after two or three releases. Your report shows the cost per lead from each medium. We confirm the timeline in the quote.

Yes, through the same servicing team across India. Muzaffarpur has four private FM stations of its own. Patna district's income per person was ₹2,41,220 in 2023-24, against ₹1,05,600 in Begusarai, the next highest. So offers and budgets change by town, and we plan each one separately.
