Advertisingacross Kochi
Malayalam dailies, four private FM stations, Akashvani and licensed outdoor sites, planned by a servicing team across India. Every booking is held up against the enquiries it brings.
A strategist calls you in one working day.
The right paper and station, licences on file.
A good advertising agency in Kochi is judged on one thing: whether each rupee can be traced to an enquiry. PromotEdge plans and books press, radio, outdoor and online ads for Kerala businesses, and holds every booking up against the enquiries it brings.
How we work with Kochi. Our servicing team is based in cities across India. Most of the work runs online, in hybrid mode: your plan is written, booked and reported on video calls and shared files. We visit Kochi to meet you and go over results, and when a job needs it, a team member works from your site.

Malayalam and English dailies
Paper, edition, size and day, chosen by who buys from you. Our language partners write ad copy in English, Hindi, Tamil and more. Malayalam copy? Ask first; we check a partner before we book.
02FM and Akashvani spots
A mix of the four private stations and Akashvani, set to the hours your buyers listen. Airtime is sold in 10-second units, so scripts are timed to the second.
03Licensed outdoor sites
The local body's permission in writing before you pay. Boards are printed on recyclable, PVC-free material, delivered through PEXORA, a joint venture of PromotEdge and Prodigy. Mounting is handled through the same partner, with other agencies where a job needs them.
04Metro and Water Metro riders
If your buyers ride the Metro or the Water Metro, we map the stops they use. Then we ask each operator whether it offers ad space there, and on what terms.
05Search and social ads
A radio spot makes people curious, and then they search. Google search ads and Meta ads put your name there when they look, even from abroad.
06Booking and release proof
Every rate in writing before you approve. After release: the printed page cut from the paper, station logs and dated site photos.
Our beliefWe know digital inside out, and we think like an Indian business.
Five things that shape a Kochi media plan.
Each one rests on a public record, checked on 4 October 2026. Two are below, and three more are in the fold after them.
1. Malayalam for homes, English for firms. The Ernakulam district website says Malayalam is the official language and English is "popularly used in business circles". So a family sale usually runs in Malayalam, while an offer to traders, shipping firms or IT offices often works in English.
2. Outdoor in Kerala is a court story. Outdoor, or OOH (out of home), means any ad seen outside the home. The Kerala High Court has ordered a ₹5,000 fine for every illegal board, in October 2023 and again in March 2025. The March 2025 order also allows action against the advertising agencies involved. In August 2026 the court found that almost none of those fines had been collected. Kerala also restricts PVC flex boards; check the current order. The court sits in Ernakulam and heads the state's courts. We book only legal, licensed sites.
More on who we plan for, and three more local facts, with their sources.
Kochi's media market in depth
Why people come to us. Most want a launch that all of Ernakulam hears about, a push timed to Onam or Vishu, or steady calls to a showroom or clinic. We look at your business first. Marketing comes second. Ernakulam district alone has about 32.8 lakh people, by the district's own count. Each kind of buyer reads and listens differently; see our healthcare, education and real estate pages.
3. Two newspaper groups also own radio stations. Malayala Manorama and Mathrubhumi both print Kochi editions and are members of the ABC (Audit Bureau of Circulations), the body that audits how many copies member papers sell. On the ministry's March 2026 list, two of Kochi's four private FM stations belong to the same two groups. One group may offer print and radio as a bundle. Price each part against the other papers and stations before you agree.
4. Akashvani sells some airtime by programme, not by the clock. On the government's rate card, FM Rainbow Kochi costs most from 7 to 11 am and 5 to 11 pm. The Local Radio Station prices by programme type instead: film music and listener's choice shows cost more than spoken-word ones. These are the government's 2017 rates, not ours.
5. Many of your buyers are on the move. The Metro runs 28.125 km from Aluva to Tripunithura. Its monthly figures add up to about 1 lakh trips a day in 2025. The Water Metro's counter showed about 76.9 lakh passengers by 21 September 2026. Nearly half of the airport's 1,13,02,552 passengers in 2025-26 flew international routes. People on a boat or a plane skip the morning paper, but they carry a phone. Kerala had 98.16 internet subscribers for every 100 people in March 2026.
What you can book here, and on what terms.
Kochi has Malayalam and English papers and four private FM stations. The metro and the Water Metro carry daily riders. The High Court gave orders on illegal boards in July and August 2026, so book a board only with a permission letter.

| Kochi item | What the record shows | How we use it |
|---|---|---|
| Malayalam dailies (ABC members) | Malayala Manorama, Mathrubhumi and Deshabhimani, each with a Kochi edition. | Family offers, launches and admission notices. |
| More Malayalam dailies | Wikipedia lists Kochi editions for Deepika (started 1887), Kerala Kaumudi (1911) and Madhyamam (1987). | Not on ABC's Kochi list, so we ask each paper for its own figures. |
| English dailies (ABC members) | The Hindu, The Times of India and The Economic Times, each with a Kochi edition. | Offices, the port trade and B2B (business to business) buyers. |
| Private FM (4 stations) | 91.9, 93.5, 94.3 and 104.0 MHz (ministry list, 30 March 2026). Kochi is category B. | Chosen by listener and hour. Each station quotes its own rate. |
| Akashvani FM Rainbow Kochi | 102.3 MHz: ₹550, ₹440 and ₹280 per 10 seconds by time band (government card, 1 June 2017). | Government rates, not ours. |
| Akashvani Local Radio Station | ₹660 or ₹440 per 10 seconds by programme type, same 2017 card. It prints 102.3 MHz here too. | A dated yardstick. We confirm the current rate before booking. |
| Illegal boards (High Court) | ₹5,000 fine per illegal board (October 2023, March 2025). In July 2026 the court asked the Chief Secretary for an affidavit (a sworn written statement) on the steps taken. | No permission letter, no booking. |
| Fines and flex | August 2026: "only a negligible amount" of the fines collected; several local bodies at nil. | Unlicensed boards may still stand nearby. That is no reason to join them. |
| Kochi Metro | 25 stations, Aluva to Tripunithura. Busiest month of 2025: August, with 34,10,250 trips. | Daily riders. Station space only on the operator's written terms. |
| Kochi Water Metro | Ten terminals, including Kakkanad, Vytilla, Fort Kochi and Vypin. It calls Kochi "India's first city to have a Water Metro Project". Infopark's main campus is also at Kakkanad. | Office commuters and visitors. We ask the operator what can be booked. |

Your buyer, your area, your dates
On a video call we ask who buys from you, where in Ernakulam they live and which festival drives sales.

A plan by language
Malayalam papers for homes, English ones for firms, then the radio hours that fit. Each line says why.
Tell us what’s not working. We’ll send you an honest one-page growth plan, free.
Where this page stops, and all six steps from the first call to the cost per enquiry.
How the work runs in Kochi
Where this page stops. It covers only what changes in Kochi. Mainline media in general is on our advertising service page, and the city itself, from the port to the festivals, is in the Kochi overview.
- Your buyer, your area, your dates On a video call we ask who buys from you, where in Ernakulam they live and which festival drives sales.
- A plan by language Malayalam papers for homes, English ones for firms, then the radio hours that fit. Each line says why.
- Permission before outdoor For every site, we check the local body's permission, its end date and the board material.
- Writing and sizing One idea, written fresh by our language partners in each language they cover, then cut to every paper size, spot length and board.
- Booking after your yes Nothing is booked until you approve the written quote. Then come printed pages, station logs and photos.
- Counting the calls What can't be measured can't be achieved. A phone number or QR code used only for this campaign shows which medium worked. The next plan drops what didn't pay.
What affects the cost of advertising in Kochi.
We don't put a price list online. After a first call with one of our strategists we write down the scope and quote against it. Paper space, airtime, sites, printing and mounting are billed as their owners bill them, and you see each one first.
What affects the cost
- Languages. Two language versions mean two scripts, two layouts and often two papers.
- Which papers. A Malayalam daily, an English one or both; then edition, size, colour and day.
How we quote
- A first call about your buyers, your part of Ernakulam and your dates
- A look at what you ran last season and what it brought in
- A written plan of papers, stations, sites and online ads, with a reason for each
- A written, line-by-line quote within 2 working days of the first call, which you can approve or cut; nothing is booked before your yes
What you get in the quote
- Each paper, edition, language, size and release date
- Each radio slot, with spot length, count and the station's current rate
- Each outdoor site, with its permission and end date
- Printing and mounting, each on its own line
- Our own fee, kept apart from media and online ad budgets
How it is billed
| Way of working | When it fits |
|---|---|
| Single campaign | One launch or festival push, with fixed dates and a written scope; timeline confirmed in the quote |
| Year-round plan | Releases through the year, with an enquiry report each month; minimum 3 months, 30 days' notice to stop |
| Media at actuals | Space, airtime and sites at the owner's rate, shown before you approve |
Four more things that can change your quote, and a tip for comparing quotes.
What else changes the cost in Kochi
Radio mix. Private stations, Akashvani or both; the hour or programme; weeks on air.
Outdoor. Licensed sites only; size, months booked and recyclable printing per board.
Season. Weeks before Onam (August or September) or Vishu (mid-April) need booking early.
Reach beyond Kochi. Other Kerala towns add editions and Akashvani stations of their own.

Our servicing team is based in cities across India, and most of the work runs online in hybrid mode. We talk with you every day by phone or video, and come to Kochi at least once every three months to go over the campaign face to face. When a job needs it, a team member works from your site.
-
Start with the person who buys. Family offers usually run in Malayalam. Offers to traders, port firms and IT offices often work in English, which the district site says is common in business. Many plans run the same offer in both. Need Malayalam copy? Tell us at the start; we confirm a language partner can take it on first.
-
Yes, on legal, licensed sites. The Kerala High Court made local body secretaries personally responsible for removing illegal boards, and allowed action against the agencies involved. We book a site only with its permission on file. This is general guidance, not legal advice.
-
Often both. The four private stations set their own rates. Akashvani's two Kochi lines have a public government card from 2017, which gives you a yardstick for every other radio quote. We set the mix by the hours your buyers listen, then ask each station for its rate in writing.
-
Early. Onam falls in August or September. Vishu comes in mid-April, usually on the 13th or 14th. Both come back every year, so plan the next window, not the last. Wikipedia notes that Fort Kochi's Cochin Carnival runs every year from 23 December to 1 January. Book press and radio a few weeks ahead, and licensed outdoor sites earlier still.
-
Yes, with the same servicing team. Akashvani's 2017 card lists stations at Kozhikode, Thrissur and Thiruvananthapuram. Many Kerala papers on the ABC list print several editions, so a plan can grow one edition at a time. Tell us the towns your buyers live in, and we price each edition and station separately.
