A tea buyer or a hill-trip family far from Siliguri judges you by your website, before any phone call. Light on a phone, clear to a stranger, and set up to bring enquiries.
A strategist calls you in one working day.
Most Siliguri firms sell to people who have never seen the shop, so the website has to do the selling. PromotEdge builds websites for tea sellers, hotels, tour firms and city shops, so that a buyer who has never met you sends an enquiry.
We know digital inside out, and we think like an Indian business. Our servicing team is based in cities across India, reviews run on video calls, and we visit Siliguri regularly.
The city's own corporation calls Siliguri the "gateway of North East India", and says it grew as a trading centre for Assam, Bhutan, Sikkim and eastern Nepal. So each site gets one next step: a call, WhatsApp message, booking or sample request. For all site types, see website design and development; for the wider plan, our Siliguri overview.

Four facts about this city change what a good website here needs to do.
1. Tea has thousands of small sellers. Tea Board figures for 2025 show the Terai, the tea belt on the plains around Siliguri, made 186.74 million kg, about 83% by small growers. On 31 March 2025 it counted 3,573 small growers in the Darjeeling plains. A clear site helps you stand apart.
2. The tea auction centre turns 50 on 29 October 2026. It opened on 29 October 1976. The Week reported in September 2026 483 registered sellers and 497 buyer members, calling it India's second-largest CTC auction hub after Guwahati. CTC (crush, tear, curl) is the grainy chai tea. Brokers and packers are judged online by buyers in other states.
3. Travellers decide before they land. Bagdogra handled 36,57,078 passengers in 2025-26, up 13.6%; international passengers rose 30.8% to 26,768 (AAI). In August 2024 the Union Cabinet approved a new terminal for 10 million passengers a year (₹1,549 crore). A site with no way to book sends guests to a portal.
4. Most visitors arrive on a phone. TRAI's "West Bengal" circle (without Kolkata, with Sikkim) had 58.59 million wireless subscribers in March 2026, 60.6% rural, and 49.23 million internet subscribers, about 99% on broadband. So pages must be light and buttons easy to tap with a thumb.

| Siliguri fact | What the record shows | What it means for your website |
|---|---|---|
| Tea, timber and tourism | Jalpaiguri district names "Tea, Timber and Tourism" as its trade backbone. The Tea Board lists 87 Darjeeling gardens. | Build pages for that buyer. Give each garden its own page. |
| Toy train and STPI | The Darjeeling Himalayan Railway was built in 1879. STPI set up its Siliguri centre in 2006, with 32 incubation seats. | Tour firms can write a page on the toy train. |
| Languages at home | Bengali 61.8%, Hindi 25.2%, Nepali 8.7% (Census 2011, per ETV Bharat). Bengali is the plains' official language; Nepali shares that place in the hills (1961 Act). | Decide page by page who needs Bengali, Hindi or Nepali. |
| Bengali on signboards | As of March 2025, a Siliguri Municipal Corporation (SMC) notice makes Bengali compulsory on top of signboards and hoardings. | It covers boards, not websites. Keep your name and spelling the same on both. |

A tea seller needs sample requests and grades. A hotel needs booking and directions. A trader needs proof of years in trade. An online store needs payments, shipping and returns.
Google says pages need no extra markup to appear in its AI features. They must be indexed and eligible for a snippet, and normal SEO basics apply: crawlable, linked, fast, with key content as text.

Our view: AI will draft more of the first copy, and buyers will ask AI tools where to stay or which tea to buy. A clear, honest, fast site still gets found. Want us to look at yours? Ask us.
Our beliefWe use AI to save your team's time. A person still makes the decision.

It depends on who buys from you. A hotel or tea brand selling across India usually needs English first. A shop serving local families may need Bengali or Hindi too, and Nepali if your buyers are in the hills. Our language partners write them, and we check every page.
The SMC notice of 18 March 2025 covers signboards, hoardings and signage, not websites. As of March 2025, those must carry Bengali on top. We would still keep your business name and spelling the same on board and site. General guidance, not legal advice.
Not if Puja is only weeks away; the holidays start on 18 October 2026. A proper site needs time for words, photos and testing. A single landing page for a festive offer may be possible. The state's tourism minister said in August 2026 that winter tea festivals are planned, with no dates.
A company website usually takes 4 to 6 weeks. For a store or a very large site, we confirm the timeline in the quote. Enquiries from ads can start within days. Visits from Google take usually a few months, and depend on the SEO work behind the site.
Yes. We can set up an online store with UPI, cash on delivery and shipping rules for buyers across India. For buyers abroad, we usually start with an enquiry and sample request page, because export orders are agreed one by one.
