/ 01 Advertising agency in Siliguri

Three languages.One clear message.

Advertising in three languages works only when one clear message is carried into each of them. PromotEdge writes, plans and books newspaper, radio and outdoor ads for shops, tea firms, hotels and dealers.

Then we count the calls and WhatsApp messages each ad brings.

Our servicing team is based in cities across India and works with you hybrid and remote. We meet on video first, and come up to Siliguri for planning days, shoots and site checks.

One family reads a Bengali paper, the shop next door follows Hindi news, a hill customer may read Nepali. This page covers only what changes here. For the method, see advertising services. For the city itself, see Siliguri overview.

/ 03 What is different here

Ruled streets, a short radio dial.

Five local facts shape our plans.

Two bodies let outdoor space. The Siliguri Municipal Corporation (SMC) has a hoarding section. The Siliguri Jalpaiguri Development Authority (SJDA) lets many sites by e-tender (online bidding). In 2022 most drew one bidder or none, so we check who holds a site first.

Two stretches allow no hoardings. SMC memo 416 of 3 March 2023, approved by the Mayor-in-Council on 17 February, bars them from Court More to Hospital More and beside Kanchenjungha Stadium. We skip both.

Bengali goes on top. An SMC notice of 18 March 2025 made Bengali compulsory above all signboards, hoardings and signage, with a deadline of 14 April 2025. As of March 2025, our boards start in Bengali. General guidance, not legal advice.

Three groups of readers. ETV Bharat (2022) gave Siliguri's Census 2011 mother tongues as Bengali 61.8%, Hindi 25.2% and Nepali 8.7%. Shop campaigns usually need Bengali first, then Hindi, then Nepali.

The festive weeks are near. West Bengal's 2026 holiday list puts Durga Puja on 18 to 21 October, Lakshmi Puja on 25 October, Kali Puja on 8 November and Chhath on 15 November. The Siliguri Tea Auction Centre opened on 29 October 1976 and turns 50 on 29 October 2026. We book early, as space gets tight.

/ 05 How a Siliguri campaign runs

From one callto a counted result.

  1. 01

    Talk about your buyers

A video call: who buys, where, in which language? We note today's enquiries as a number to beat.

  2. 02

    Pick the media

We choose papers, stations and sites for them. Change is the only constant, so every rate and date goes in writing.

  3. 03

    Check the sites

Each site is checked against the no-hoarding zones, matched to its holder, then visited.

  4. 04

    Write once, adapt three times

One idea, then Bengali, Hindi or Nepali versions, Bengali on top of every board. Our language partners write them, and our team checks each.

  5. 05

    Book and prove

We book space and airtime, then send proof each ad ran.

  6. 06

    Count what came back

What can't be measured can't be achieved, so each medium gets its own number, WhatsApp link or offer code.

How we deliver it, and why

How your business model changes the plan

A shop wants festive reminders in the city. A dealer wants the hill towns and Akashvani. A tea firm sells to buyers far away; see tea and agribusiness.

  1. Pick the language before the medium. A Bengali, a Hindi and a Nepali reader open different papers. A buyer and language map.
  2. Check the holder before you pay for a site. Two public bodies let space, and some roads allow no hoardings. A site list with the holder named.
  3. Write every rate and date down. Zones, rules and rates shift. A plan with a rate beside each line.
  4. Count calls and offer codes by medium. Reach alone does not show what paid. A monthly report, with money moved to what works.

Why buyers come here

SMC calls Siliguri the gateway to North East India and a trading centre for Assam, Bhutan, Sikkim and eastern Nepal. The Tea Auction Centre's chairman counts 483 registered sellers and 497 buyer members.

AI today

Google lists Bengali, Hindi and Nepali among Gemini's languages, which helps with first script drafts. A native reader still checks every line. Performance Max can run one campaign across YouTube, Search, Maps and more. Press, radio and boards still need a person to check rates and permission. Want us to look at yours? Ask us.

What affects the cost of advertising in Siliguri.

We don't publish a price list. The smallest first step is a free 30-minute call with a strategist and a one-page plan, for projects we think we can help. Media is billed at actuals. The quote comes within 2 working days, and we confirm the timeline in it.

What affects the cost

  • Languages: Bengali only, or Hindi and Nepali too

  • Radio: FM, Akashvani or both, and spots per day
  • Outdoor: one glow sign, or pole boards for months
  • Timing: Puja to Chhath is in demand

How we quote

  1. A first call about your buyers and fixed dates
  2. A written plan, each paper, station and site with its rate
  3. Booking only after your yes

What you get in the quote

  • Each paper, station, site and release date
  • Printing and site visits, listed apart
  • Proof of release

Comparing quotes? Ask if media is inside the fee, and if proof is included.

Advertising in Siliguri?

Straight answers.

  • Our servicing team is based in cities across India, and planning, writing and booking happen on calls and shared files. We travel up to Siliguri for planning days, shoots and site checks, and can work from your office or plant.

  • No. Since March 2023 the city has two No Hoarding Zones: Court More to Hospital More, and beside Kanchenjungha Stadium. SJDA lets many other sites by tender, so someone may hold them. As of March 2025, Bengali must sit on top of every hoarding. General guidance, not legal advice.

  • It depends on who buys from you. For most shops and consumer brands, Bengali comes first, as the largest mother tongue in the city. Hindi papers reach Hindi-speaking families, and Nepali helps when you sell to the hills. Our language partners write every version, and our team checks it.

  • They do different jobs. A press ad shows an offer, prices and an address. Radio repeats a short message so people remember it. Siliguri has three private FM stations and Akashvani, so a plan stays small. Many then search the name, which is where SEO in Siliguri helps.

  • For 2026, very soon. Durga Puja runs from 18 to 21 October, Kali Puja falls on 8 November and Chhath on 15 November. Press and radio can often be booked at short notice. Outdoor needs longer for checks and printing. Next year, start by July, with a ready page for the offer: web design in Siliguri.

  • A press ad or radio burst with a clear offer can bring calls within days. Being known takes longer, usually several weeks of steady presence. We report after each burst and each month, and say plainly if a medium is not paying back. We confirm the timeline in the quote.

  • We won't claim that, and we'd be careful with any agency that does. Judge on fit. Can they show work with numbers? Do they know the no-hoarding zones and the Bengali-first rule? Will they put every media rate in writing?
