A camera cannot film a tower that is still a drawing or the flow inside a pump. 3D walkthroughs, machine animation and product renders show what a camera can't.

Show buyerswhat a camera can't.

A buyer in Kolkata often has to say yes to a project or a machine before it is built, shipped or opened up. PromotEdge plans and produces architectural walkthroughs, machine and process animations and product renders for developers, engineering firms and exporters, so the buyer understands it first.

3D earns its cost in three cases. The thing does not exist yet, like a tower that is still a drawing. It is too big, too hot or too far away to film, like a foundry line. Or the part that matters is hidden inside, like a pump.

We look at your business first, and the tool second. If none of these is true, a normal shoot usually costs less, and we say so. We work from your drawings, CAD files and site photos. The method we follow across India is on 3D animation and 3D walkthroughs.

/ 03 Who buys 3D in Kolkata

Four Kolkata buyers with a real case for 3D.

Some Kolkata businesses sell space before it exists, sell machines and metal, or sell to buyers they will never meet.

Developers in New Town. HIDCO began the planned township in 1999, and it has grown into Kolkata's second IT hub after Salt Lake. Homes and offices here are often sold from plans, so a walkthrough lets a family in another city see the balcony and the clubhouse before the slab is cast.

Landlords competing for tenants. Kolkata's office vacancy was 28.9% in Q1 2025, the highest of seven major cities (Vestian, cited by the Bengal Chamber). A tenant who can walk a fitted-out floor on screen has one less reason to keep looking.

Engineering in Howrah. The state's investment portal calls Howrah an engineering hub for metal products and machinery. A process animation shows how a casting is poured, machined and tested, without asking a buyer to stand next to a furnace.

Exporters. The district's 2024-25 export basket read: gems and jewellery 58.8%, iron and steel 17.5%, textiles 11.7%. A jeweller can send a buyer abroad a 360-degree render of a necklace, and a pump maker a cut-away film instead of a heavy sample.

New Town and RajarhatWBHIDCO plans a 6,000-7,000 hectare area in Rajarhat, in Action Areas I-III. / 05 How a 3D job runs

From drawingsto a film buyers get.

  1. 01

    Drawings and goal

Send CAD, plans, photos or a sketch. We agree who will watch, on what screen, and what they should do next.

  2. 02

    Storyboard

Frame by frame, with camera moves and voice-over lines. Changes here are cheap; after rendering they cost real time.

  3. 03

    Model and look

Grey previews first, then materials and light. For property, your architect checks every dimension.

  4. 04

    Render and voice

Final render, music, captions and voice-over in the languages you need.

  5. 05

    Reuse

Ask for the model files in the contract. The same model then gives brochure stills and the next phase's film.

Tell us what’s not working. We’ll send you an honest one-page growth plan, free.

How we deliver it, and why

How your business model changes the plan

A developer sells from plans, so walkthroughs and brochure stills matter. An exporter sells to buyers abroad, so spins and cut-aways replace samples. A dealer-led machine maker needs a short film a dealer can play on a tablet.

  1. Ask who watches and on what screen. A tablet in a dealer's hand needs a different film from a hoarding. A one-line brief.
  2. Sign the storyboard before modelling. A change on paper costs minutes; after rendering it costs days. A frame-by-frame board.
  3. Show grey previews before the final look. Shapes and dimensions are easy to fix early. Previews to approve.
  4. Keep the model files. The same model feeds stills, the next phase and an LED loop. Files named in the contract.

AI in 3D animation: today and next

Today: AI that cleans render noise

Blender's Cycles renderer offers two AI denoisers, OpenImageDenoise from Intel and OptiX from NVIDIA. They clear noise without extra samples, so previews arrive sooner. OptiX needs an NVIDIA GPU, and Blender advises feeding the denoiser at least an albedo pass.

Next

Our view: AI will speed up previews first. The model still comes from your drawings, and your architect or engineer still checks every dimension. Want us to look at one project? Ask us.

/ 06 Cost

What 3D animation costs.

Every walkthrough, machine animation or render set is quoted against its own scope. We send the quote within 2 working days.

What affects the cost

  • Length of the film, in seconds
  • Models built from scratch, or from your CAD files
  • Level of detail, up to photo-real
  • Interiors as well as exteriors
  • Changes after the storyboard is signed

How we quote

  1. We hear what the film must show and who will watch it, and ask for your drawings or CAD files
  2. We say what can be reused and what must be modelled again
  3. You get a written scope with a storyboard outline, and each cost on its own line

What you get in the quote

  • Models to be built, and which come from your files
  • Seconds of film, camera moves, and change rounds
  • Voice-over, music, output sizes and delivery dates

A very cheap 3D quote often means stock models and one camera move, so ask what will be built for you.

/ 07 What happens next

What happensafter you ask.

For projects we think we can help, this is how it goes.

  1. 01

    A strategist calls you

In one working day: a 30-minute call with one of our strategists about your business and what is not working.

  2. 02

    You get a 1-page plan

A short, honest plan: what to fix first and what we would do. It is free.

  3. 03

A quote, if you want one

If you want to go ahead, we send a quote within 2 working days.

We confirm the timeline in the quote. Contracts start at 3 months, with 30 days' notice to stop.

Straight answers.

  • Briefs, storyboards and reviews happen at our office in Sector V, Salt Lake. Our in-house team of 65+ people does the modelling, animation and rendering, with industry consultants and partner agencies where a job needs them. Bring your architect or plant engineer to review the 3D work on a big screen.

  • For a property walkthrough, yes: plans, elevations and the finish list should be final, or the 3D film will need redoing. For a machine, CAD files help most, but photos, measurements and a factory visit can work too. Tell us what you have early.

  • Yes. Through our language partners we do voice-overs in Bengali, Hindi and English and, for export buyers, in French, Spanish, Japanese, Mandarin, Portuguese and Korean. One 3D animation can carry several voice-overs and sets of on-screen text, so a Burrabazar dealer and a buyer in Europe watch the same film.

  • Before Puja. India Energy Week runs from 28 to 31 January 2027 at BBCC, and state offices close for Puja from 15 to 26 October 2026. Sign the 3D storyboard in early October, so modelling and rendering run through November and December.

  • Not always. For a product you can easily film, a video shoot is often cheaper and faster. 3D wins when the thing isn't built yet, can't be moved, or has to be shown from the inside. We tell you which suits your brief.

  • Send whatever you have: CAD files, plans and elevations, site photos, a brochure or even a sketch, plus where the 3D film will play. We check the files and tell you what can be reused and what must be modelled again, before the quote is written.
