/ 01 ACP sign boards

A shop frontthat stays smart.

A faded flex front tells buyers a brand has stopped caring. PromotEdge designs and installs ACP sign boards for brands across India, for dealer, store and showroom networks, so every front looks clean, solid and on brand.

ACP (aluminium composite panel) is a flat sheet with thin aluminium skins on both faces, with a clean, solid finish that outlasts flex. We'd rather be blunt than pleasing: if a plain non-lit board is enough for your shop, we will say so. Delivered through PEXORA, a joint venture of PromotEdge and Prodigy.

Who it's for. Brands with dealer and store networks, such as industrial makers with dealer counters, property sales offices and clinics. A brand stepping up to premium often starts with the front, because it is the first thing a buyer sees.

/ 02 Board types

ACP, non-lit and black-outboards compared.

An NLB (non-lit board) has no light inside, and a black-out board is lit through the logo and lettering only. Compared with a standard glow box, an NLB is enough when the shop closes by evening on a lit street.

ACP work is partly building work, so the survey, drawing and fixing are one team's job inside the PromotEdge group. Ask for the sheet make, thickness and coating in every quote; cheaper sheets bend and fade sooner. All other shop signage: signage and retail branding.

/ 03 Signs you need this

Your fronts need workif you say this.

“Our dealers' flex boards look tired within a year.”

An ACP fascia with fixed letters keeps its colour far longer. Where budgets are tight, a sun-resistant NLB is the middle path.

“Our flagship stores look like every other shop on the street.”

A full ACP fascia in your brand colour, with 3D letters, makes the store look built rather than hung.

“At night our lit boards are a white box, and the logo gets lost.”

A black-out board lets only the logo and lettering glow, so the brand reads clearly.

“The ACP on our showroom has buckled, and the joints are black with dirt.”

Panels need room to expand, a proper frame and sealed joints. Done badly, the sheet buckles in May and leaks in July.

“Our shops shut at 7 pm. Why are we paying to light the boards?”

If an outlet trades in daylight on a lit street, a non-lit board does the job at lower cost, with no electrical work.

/ 04 How we do it

Survey to handover,front by front.

We look at your outlet and your sales first, and the board second. This timeline is for a batch of dealer fascias in one region; a single showroom facade can take longer.

  1. 01

    Week 1: survey

Each front measured and photographed, with the wall, shutter box, electrical point, landlord and local rules noted.

  2. 02

    Weeks 1–3: drawings

A fascia drawing per outlet with panel layout, letter sizes and fixing details. Brand colours matched to ACP shades.

  3. 03

    Weeks 2–3: approvals

Your sign-off, the outlet owner's consent, and local permission where needed.

  4. 04

    Weeks 3–6: fabrication

Frames made, panels cut and grooved, letters routed or built, black-out faces printed and tested lit.

  5. 05

    Weeks 4–8: fixing

Frames fixed, panels mounted with expansion gaps, joints sealed. Each front photographed by day, and after dark if lit.

  6. 06

    After: snag list

A walk-round with the outlet owner, a snag list closed within agreed days, photos filed outlet by outlet.

How we deliver it, and why

How your business model changes the plan

A dealer network picks a standard fascia in a few size bands. A flagship store gets 3D letters and a full ACP front. A property sales office needs a front that looks finished for the months a launch runs. A shop that shuts by evening may need only a non-lit board, and we say so.

  1. We survey each front before we draw. The wall, shutter box and landlord decide the frame, so one drawing cannot fit all. Measured photos, outlet by outlet.
  2. We match your brand colour to a real ACP shade. A printed colour and a sheet shade can differ. A shade sample you sign.
  3. We draw in expansion gaps and sealed joints. Sheets move with heat, and without room they buckle. A fixing drawing.
  4. We name the sheet make, thickness and coating in the quote. Cheaper sheets bend and fade sooner, and named lines make quotes comparable. A quote you can check line by line.
  5. We photograph each front, then close a snag list. A walk-round with the outlet owner catches small faults while they are cheap to fix. One sheet for the network.

Go deeper: the ACP standard in India

What the Indian standard covers

PlyReporter wrote on 10 October 2024 that the Bureau of Indian Standards had moved the deadline for mandatory certification under IS 17682:2021 to 22 March 2025. The standard covers composition, adhesion, coating, weather resistance and fire protection. We have not checked the position since, so ask each supplier for the sheet's make and test papers.

AI in ACP fascia design: today and next

Today: first ideas for a motif

Adobe says Text to Vector Graphic in Illustrator turns a typed description into editable vector scenes, subjects and icons. It can give first ideas for a motif on a fascia. Your logo is never redrawn this way, and shade, joints and fixing stay on the drawing.

/ 05 Cost

What ACP and non-lit boardscost.

ACP fascias and non-lit boards are usually priced on area, with 3D letters added by height and count. We do not publish a price list. A black-out board is priced like a lit board, plus the blackout print. Your quote comes within 2 working days.

What affects the cost

  • Area in square feet, and how many outlets
  • ACP sheet grade, skin thickness and coating
  • Frame material and fixing to the wall
  • Letters: flat vinyl, routed, or 3D in acrylic, steel or brass
  • Lit or non-lit, and the kind of lighting
  • Height, scaffolding, and removing the old board

How we quote

  1. You send photos of each shop front with its width and height, or the outlet list for a rollout.
  2. We note the wall type, the old board to come down and the height that needs scaffolding.
  3. You get a quote per board or per standard size, with removal and wall repair on their own lines, shown before you approve.

What you get in the quote

  • ACP panels in the grade and coating named in the quote
  • Frame, fixing, and letters or print as agreed
  • Lighting, for lit and black-out boards
  • Scaffolding, removing the old board and making good the wall

Municipal fees and landlord charges, where they apply, are extra.

Straight answers.

  • ACP boards are usually priced on area, and 3D letters are added on top by size and count. Sheet quality, the frame and access at the site move the price most. We quote against a written scope, with the sheet make and thickness named on each line.

  • An NLB (non-lit board) has no light inside and is seen by daylight or street light. A GSB (glow sign board) is a box lit from inside, so it shows at night. An NLB costs less and needs no wiring. A GSB keeps working after dark.

  • It is a lit board printed on blackout material. Light passes only through the logo and lettering, and the background stays dark, so it looks crisper at night than a standard lit box. It suits showrooms and premium outlets where a clean, dark front matters.

  • Much longer than flex, if the sheet and the fixing are good. Low-grade sheets can bend or fade, and poor joints let water in. Get the warranty in writing, separately for panels, print and any lights, and ask what it excludes.

  • Often, yes. Shop signs are regulated by the municipal body. A fascia that changes the building front may also need the landlord's or the housing society's consent. Some markets fix a standard sign size and colour. General guidance, not legal advice.

  • Start from the front, not the logo file. Measure the width, shutter box and height from the road. Choose the ACP shade closest to your brand colour, size the letters to read across the street, and approve a printed sample first.

  • From the drawings and the photos. Each front has a signed drawing, and the finished front is photographed by day, and after dark if lit. You get one sheet for the network with the status and photos of every outlet.

  • Yes. Our servicing team is based in cities across India, so we work hybrid and meet you in your city at least once every three months. Each front gets a standard design adapted to it, with a photo record (see signage in Kolkata).
