In Ranchi, a paper ad works only in the language its reader trusts, and a hoarding only where the rules allow it. Each release gets a way to count its replies.
A strategist calls you in one working day.
Advertising goes wrong when media is bought by habit instead of by who reads, listens and drives past. PromotEdge plans, writes and books newspaper, radio, TV news and outdoor ads for Ranchi businesses.
Every rupee of media is then matched to the calls and walk-ins it brought.
Mainline advertising, or ATL (above the line), means media that reaches lakhs at once. A Ranchi jeweller and a coal-company supplier need two different plans.
Our servicing team is based in cities across India. Your planner and copywriter work with you by video and phone, and come to Ranchi for the briefing and the launch. See our advertising services and the Ranchi overview.
Hindi editions for households, English business pages for company buyers.
02Scripts timed to the second. Akashvani added for the districts around Ranchi.
03We check the court case and the pole and roundabout rules first. Short bookings.
Puja, Diwali and Chhath plans, with booking dates.
Press and radio that bring visitors to your stall at Morabadi or the HEC ground. Stalls are delivered within the PromotEdge group.
A paper ad makes people look you up. Search ads on your name catch and count them.
We're professionals. We'd rather be blunt than pleasing.

Four things shape our Ranchi plans.
A Hindi daily was born here, and it travels. Prabhat Khabar started in Ranchi in 1984 (news report) and later added editions in Jamshedpur, Patna, Dhanbad and Deoghar. The Audit Bureau of Circulations (ABC) lists Hindi and English papers with Ranchi editions, among them Hindustan, Dainik Jagran, Prabhat Khabar and The Economic Times. Hindi reaches homes; English reaches company buyers.
Big company buyers sit in the city. Heavy Engineering Corporation (HEC), set up in 1958, has its head office here, as do MECON, the steel ministry's engineering consultancy, and Central Coalfields Ltd (CCL), a Coal India company. Their suppliers need a business-page ad, an expo stall and a search ad: B2B (business-to-business) advertising.
Outdoor is in a legal grey zone. On 11 August 2026 the Jharkhand High Court heard two cases from ad agencies challenging an order to take down hoardings, monopoles and unipoles in Ranchi. The Ranchi Municipal Corporation (RMC) told the court such boards distract drivers. We found no final ruling, so a long outdoor booking carries a risk.
Crowded festival weeks, in Hindi and beyond. Hindi is Jharkhand's official language, and in 2019 the state also gave Santhali, Mundari, Nagpuri and others second-official-language status (news report). Ahead are Durga Puja on 19 and 20 October 2026, Diwali on 8 November, and Statehood Day with Chhath from 15 November.
Radio stations and rates, the hoarding rules and tax, and the Morabadi fair.
| Medium, rule or venue | What Ranchi has | How we would use it |
|---|---|---|
| Private FM and Akashvani | Four private FM stations (information ministry list, 30 March 2026). Akashvani Ranchi: Primary Channel 549 kHz, FM Rainbow 100.5 MHz, Vividh Bharati 103.3 MHz, at ₹500, ₹550 and ₹390 per 10 seconds (category I, government card, from 1 June 2017). | Two stations with many repeats beat four with a few spots. |
| The 2026 hoarding case and divider poles | Heard by the Jharkhand High Court on 11 August 2026; no final ruling found. The court told RMC to remove low boards on divider poles: none may sit lower than 12 feet above the road. | Short bookings, and no low pole boards. |
| Roundabouts and hoarding tax | A 2017 trade report said RMC moved to clear hoardings within 100 metres of roundabouts under 2016 bye-laws, and the hoarding tax rose from ₹1.5 to ₹15 per sq ft in 2011, then ₹60 in 2016. | RMC's website shows no ad rules, so we ask the site owner for permission papers. |
| Morabadi ground | The 11th India International Mega Trade Fair ran here from 26 March to 6 April 2026: over 480 stalls, 12 countries. | Press and FM in the week before bring shoppers. |
Sources as cited, checked 4 October 2026. Papers, stations and venues are options, not our clients or partners. Akashvani rates and the hoarding tax are third-party figures, not PromotEdge fees.
We start with logic and your numbers: sales by month and what last year's ads brought in. "We don't know" is fair.
We come to Ranchi and map buyers by language, area and season.
A media buying plan with each rate and date. Space is booked through our media partners.
Press ads and radio scripts in each reader's language. Our language partners write press ads and radio scripts in Hindi, English and more, and our team briefs and checks every one.
What can't be measured can't be achieved, so each medium gets its own phone number or offer code, and we keep the proof of each release.
Tell us what’s not working. We’ll send you an honest one-page growth plan, free.
A retailer needs reminders before each festival, mostly in the city. A dealer network needs the right district edition and Akashvani. A firm selling to company buyers in the HEC, MECON or CCL kind of organisation needs a business-page ad, an expo stall and search ads. See industrial manufacturing.
ASCI, set up in 1985, runs the self-regulatory code for ads in India and handles complaints. In Ranchi, FJCCI, whose parent body was established on 15 September 1960, is the chamber of commerce and industry.

Google says Text and Shopping ads from Search, Shopping and Performance Max campaigns can show in AI Overviews, in English only, with India on the list. Performance Max reaches YouTube, Display, Search, Discover, Gmail and Maps from one campaign.

Google's help page lists Hindi among the Gemini web app languages, but not Santali, and it does not name Nagpuri or Mundari. That helps with a first Hindi draft. A native reader checks every line before it is printed or aired.

Our view: AI will speed up drafts, but press, radio and hoardings still need a person to check language, rates and permission. Want us to look at yours? Ask us.

Yes, with care. In August 2026 the Jharkhand High Court heard agencies challenging a city order to remove hoardings. We found no final ruling. Boards on divider poles must sit at least 12 feet up. So book short and get the terms in writing. This is general guidance, not legal advice.
It depends on who buys from you. Families and shop owners mostly read the Hindi editions. Company buyers read English business pages too. Some speak Santhali, Nagpuri or Mundari at home. Our language partners write in Hindi, English and more, and we confirm any other language before we quote.
Often, yes. Prabhat Khabar also prints in Jamshedpur, Dhanbad and Deoghar, and Akashvani has stations across the state. In March 2026, Jharkhand's villages had less than half as many internet connections per person as its towns, says TRAI, so print and radio still matter.
An ad with a clear offer and its own phone number brings replies within days. Being remembered takes weeks of repeats. We give you a first read after a month and a fuller one after the festival season. We confirm the timeline in the quote.
Ask every agency, us included, four things. Can they show past ads with the replies they brought? Do they check a hoarding's legal status? Do they show media rates apart from their fee? Who writes the Hindi copy? Good answers are plain and specific.
