/ 01 Online reputation management in Kolkata

Be foundfor the right reasons.

One angry review, a wrong phone number or an old story on page one can send a buyer to someone else. PromotEdge helps Kolkata businesses earn honest reviews and answer them well.

It also fixes what a buyer in Salt Lake or Gariahat finds when they search your name, so a searcher becomes an enquiry.

This suits Kolkata businesses a stranger must trust before the first call: a restaurant or hotel on Park Street, a school or institute, a jeweller, a Burrabazar trader or a startup.

We start the way a stranger would: search your name on a phone, sort what we find, and fix the cause with your team. We write no fake reviews, buy none, and never promise to delete a genuine one.

The full service is on our online reputation management page. Your Google profile also belongs to local SEO (search engine optimisation) in Kolkata, and press that ranks for your name comes through public relations in Kolkata.

/ 03 Reputation in Kolkata

What changes in this city.

A plan copied from another city can miss here. Three things change what we reply, in which language and when.

Reply in the customer's language. Census 2011 gives Bengali as the mother tongue of 61.45% of Kolkata district, Hindi 22.84% and Urdu 13.04%. A Bengali review answered in stiff English reads like a form letter.

Some weeks matter more. A 2022 PTI report credited the run-up to Poila Boishakh with one-third of shopkeepers' yearly sales. We agree who approves replies before Poila Boishakh and Durga Puja, so no review waits while the owner is away.

Rules we work inside. Google's help page prohibits free or discounted goods in exchange for a review. It also stays out of conflicts between businesses and customers, so a harsh but genuine review stays up.

/ 05 Process proof

What we check in the first week, then every month.

  1. 01

    Search like a stranger

On a phone, in English and Bengali, we search your business and founders and keep a record of page one.

  2. 02

    Sort every review

We read recent reviews in Bengali, Hindi and English and tag each: a real complaint, a wrong fact, spam, or unanswered praise.

  3. 03

    Find who can fix it

A repeat complaint, such as a late order in Puja week, goes to a named person on your team.

  4. 04

    Write the reply rules

A tone guide, who approves what, and what is never said in public.

  5. 05

    Report every month

Rating and review count per location, replies given, repeating complaints and what ranks for your name. We are professionals, so we promise no star rating.

Tell us what’s not working. We’ll send you an honest one-page growth plan, free.

More on this

How we deliver it, and why

How your business model changes the plan

A restaurant needs a steady flow of reviews every week. A jeweller or a school is judged on trust before the first visit. A B2B (business-to-business) firm is judged on what a search for its founders shows. A startup has little history, so its own pages and profiles matter most.

  1. Search like a stranger would. Your buyer never sees your dashboard, only page one. A dated record of page one.
  2. Tag every review. A real complaint needs a fix, not just a reply. A sorted list: complaint, wrong fact, spam, praise.
  3. Name an owner for each repeat complaint. Replies calm a customer, but only a fix stops the next review. A named person and a date.
  4. Write a tone guide in each language. A reply in the reviewer's language reads as care. Sample replies you approve.
  5. Report from numbers you can check. What can't be measured can't be achieved. Figures you can match on your own Google page.

Shivanand Mishra, our Digital Marketing Lead, prepares the monthly reporting on what ranks for your name.

Go deeper: what Google allows

Reporting a review

Google says you can report any review, but only reviews that break its policies can be removed. A report typically takes several days to assess, and one appeal is allowed. Reporting a review only because you dislike it is not advised.

A reviewer can change their mind

Google notifies the reviewer when you reply, and customers can still change their review after reading your reply. A calm, fast reply that fixes the problem can earn an updated review. We never ask for one in exchange for a gift.

AI in online reputation management: today and next

Today: what AI answers can show

Google says AI Overviews and AI Mode show supporting links from pages that are indexed and eligible for a snippet, with no extra technical requirements. So accurate, current pages about your business can be the ones an AI answer links to.

Next

Our view: more buyers will ask an assistant about your business before they search. The fix stays the same: true pages, honest reviews, fast replies. Want us to check what shows for your name? Ask us.

Got a Puja or Poila Boishakh rush coming? Agree who answers reviews before it starts. Talk to us

/ 06 Cost

What online reputation managementcosts in Kolkata.

We don't publish a price list. A Salt Lake café and a Burrabazar trader each get a quote after a first conversation. Tools and any content work are quoted apart.

What affects the cost

  • How many locations and Business Profiles we look after
  • How many names we watch: the brand, products and leaders
  • How many reviews arrive each month, and the reply languages
  • Content and coverage work for what ranks for your name

How we quote

  1. You tell us which locations and names matter, and what is hurting you today
  2. We search your name on a phone and read your recent reviews
  3. You get a written scope: locations, names, reply rules, languages and report days. We send it within 2 working days

What you get in the quote

  • The names and locations we watch
  • Who writes the replies, in which languages, and who approves them
  • The monthly report and the crisis plan

Anyone who sells a fixed number of five-star reviews, or offers to delete reviews for a fee, is selling what Google's rules forbid.

/ 07 What happens next

What happensafter you ask.

For projects we think we can help, this is how it goes.

  1. 01

    A strategist calls you

In one working day: a 30-minute call with one of our strategists about your business and what is not working.

  2. 02

    You get a 1-page plan

A short, honest plan: what to fix first and what we would do. It is free.

  3. 03

A quote, if you want one

If you want to go ahead, we send a quote within 2 working days.

We confirm the timeline in the quote. Contracts start at 3 months, with 30 days' notice to stop.

Straight answers.

  • Only if a review breaks the platform's rules. A rude but real review in Bengali or English stays up, because Google does not get involved in conflicts between businesses and customers. A review from someone who was never your customer can be reported with evidence.

  • Ask every customer in the same way, from the counter in Gariahat to the table at a Park Street restaurant. Let them write what they think, with no gifts and no filtering. A short request on the bill or in WhatsApp works.

  • Calmly, in public and in a few lines, in the reviewer's language, often Bengali or Hindi in Kolkata. We thank them, say sorry for the part that went wrong and offer a phone number to sort it out offline. We never argue or share private details.

  • Yes. Our language partners write replies in Bengali, Hindi and English, and in Urdu when the review is in Urdu. Our team plans the tone and checks each Bengali or Hindi reply before it goes live. We ask which language your customers use most.

  • From a monthly report sent from our Sector V office, with numbers you can check on your own Google page. We promise no star rating and no position, because a rating moves over months of steady, honest requests. We confirm the timeline in the quote.

  • Ongoing work has a 3-month minimum. After that you can stop with 30 days' notice. We report every month from our Sector V office, so you can judge the work well before the three months end, and the numbers can be checked on your own Google page.
